Grasmere House is just a short walk from Salisbury and offers superb cathedral views. The fine Victorian house is situated on the banks of the rivers Avon and Nadder, and surrounded by mature gardens.

Location of hotel was excellent Restaurant staff very pleasant
Room was average-bit disappointing
Excellent location - quiet hotel overlooking the river but only a short walk from the centre of Salisbury.
This was the first weekend away with our 15 week old son. We were upgraded to a suite which was really helpful to have more space.
Sara at the front desk was super.
Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms well fitted out, and clean. Would certainly stay there again if/when we next spend a couple of days in Salibury.
Some minor repairs in the room overlooked, but this did not detract from a very pleasant stay.
comfortable room with excellent view of river
add on extras to main courses i.e. chips, potatoes veg at an extra cost
Location, restaurant, bar
Plenty of onsite parking. The staff were really friendly and extremely helpful. The room (an executive King) was really spacious and comfortable with a view of the garden and river. We stayed with the continental breakfasts which were included in our price, and had plenty to eat each morning before heading out into beautiful Salisbury. We'd happilly stay at the Legacy Rose and Crown again.
The bathroom was lovely and well lit apart from having no lighting above or beside the mirror to do makeup or shaving....just a small agrivation each morning.
We stayed in the 13th century part of the hotel which was a "whow" We ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed our meal
Room over looked the main road which was busy at times
Room with river garden lovely view of cathedral and geese flying over
Very friendly and extremely helpful staff. Loved the character of the building and room. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel.
Having to leave
Location staff attempted quality service but overworked.
Wall paper falling off ceiling in room 28. Damp around bath and grouting fallen out of tiles. Chips not fully cooked in evening meal. When i complained the response was "Oh dear!".
Excellent situation, good service and oozes historic character.
Reception area smelt of urine - it may have been some cleaning fluid but wasnt pleasant
Staff were very attentive and facilities very nice. Room quite large overlooking beautiful garden and the river. Continental breakfast fine with nice views. Hotel located a nice 10 minute walk from downtown cathedral close.
Room very hot and took the money before we had checkd in
Convenience to town centre Beautiful views from dining room and riverside terrace Olde-worlde bedroom charm
Erratic hot water supply to washbasin in bedroom; poor lighting in bedroom (1 bulb blown); no light at all over bathroom mirror Poor Wi-Fi connection Limited breakfast buffet in b&b rate; additional options were over-priced
The hotel is in a picturesque location, within a short, enjoyable walk to the Cathedral and centre of Salisbury. The two rooms we had - one of the old, beamed standard rooms and one larger executive room with river view in the modern extension - were spacious and quiet. I would happily stay again.
The tap / sink in the bathroom should be replaced to prevent guests being sprayed with water every time it's turned on in a normal manner!
The location - our room opened onto the riverside. Idyllic. Everything was spotless, the staff pleasant and helpful at all times. Easy walk to the town and the Cathedral. Large car park.
Having to leave.
Weather had turned colder but heating wasn't on in either bedrooms or hallways. Piped music throughout not appreciated and spoilt a leisurely breakfast in the dining room - lovely views over river and meadows.
Everything ...from location to food...n to see the Regency Dancers in period costumes in the restaurant with us! Services especially upon check in with Beverley had been excellent and all our requests complied with. Thanks for making our stay such a memorable one!
Didn't have enough time to spend another night as we have to head home.
Friendly check-in staff, lovely room (four poster bed, sofa, big ensuite), great food at restaurant, free parking, great vibe in hotel overall!
Stood around several minutes in foyer of restaurant until someone noticed us to seat us.
All the staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous and unintrusive, contributing to a reunion between friends both fun and memorable. The rooms were excellent with everything one needed.
Location both beautiful and convenient. Staff extremely helpful. Every need met.
The river location. That's about it!
Have stayed in all the major, far better, hotels in town. This one is most disappointing. We were informed that a function was booked. Our room 9 next to ladies/gents toilet with function room opposite. Spoke the to 'receptionist' when checking in about the position of room, only to be told that a Jaguar society were not the sort of persons to make a nucience. Laughable, we are jag owners and have alway had to use toilet facilities at a function!! Very strange response. We were offered a solution at 11pm! Pointless. No privacy in the ground floor room as it faced car park. Had to keep curtains closed! Quite depressing! Lighting poor. Not the relaxing weekend anticipated. Didn't spend any time in the uncomfortable miserable hotel. The fact is that there are far more superior hotels in Salisbury at similar prices offering splendid food and rest and relaxation. Reasons why people enjoy weekend breaks on a regular basis? The profit loss and reputation of the hotel business didn't seem to matter to this hotel. There seemed to be no pride. Glad they don't work for me.
