Staff Facilities Location
Location close to the city centre and cathedral; room with view on the cathedral and the river; cleanliness.
Breakfast included in the price is quite limited.
Ground floor with garden and chairs lovely . Clean bathroom toilet facilities.
The room was cold we had to ask for extra milk for coffee. Cooked breakfast was extra rooms not cheap should be included.
The venue was in an excellent position for ease of walking into Salisbury. Lovely view of the river and Cathedral from the bedrooms. Staff were happy and helpful all the time. Good menu.
The outside of the Hotel could do with a bit of a cleanup especially the windows.
We thought the hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting and very convenient for the town centre. Good value for money too.
Would have like to have more choices on the dinner menu
the lovely calm river next to the hotel
Good location, really comfortable and clean.
The location of the hotel, in easy walking distance of the City Centre, was excellent and was beautifully located next to the river. The room that we had was spacious and well-appointed, and offered an excellent view of the garden and river. All the hotel facilities were well thought-out.
The menu on offer did not reflect the standard of the rest of the hotel facilities, and the quality of the food was also a good way below the level that we would expect from a hotel of this quality. We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, but did eat there again after the first night. Fortunately, there were restaurants in the city centre which did offer excellent food, and which the hotel would do well to emulate.
Liked the friendly staff and tasteful rooms.
Nothing to dislike.
The views were excellent The room was a delight. The staff were pleasant
The hotel's setting by the river. The hotel's restaurant was excellent. The rooms were certainly more spacious than we expected which was nice. We were lucky to have a first floor room with walk out to the patio and garden.
The ceilings, at least in the newer section where we stayed, certainly need insulation to quiet the noise from the room above. We were fortunate that there was a quite elderly couple in the room above us! You could hear everything!!
Renovated Beautiful scenery Good location
They charged our 20 month old daughter for her breakfast and said that it was only included for two persons although we had booked for three persons. Very noisy from upstairs.
The room was a decent size & had a view of the river
We weren't told that the main bar would be shut for private functions- Friday & Saturday Breakfast included in a pricey rate was only for continental - extra for cooked. Basically overpriced & not really good enough for the price
Good-sized room (executive twin) Friendly staff on reception Great bathroom Large but unobtrusive parking area Pleasant garden overlooking the river Relaxed atmosphere, even with a wedding on in the restaurant. Very good wifi signal
Poor phone signal Lacked anything to set it apart from other hotels - fine but not memorable.
A wonderful welcome and helpful staff are a great start to any hotel stay but if their efforts are ket down by the quality that surrounds them what can they do? Fortunately that was not the case and we found everything superseded our expectations; great room including a brilliant shower, great view, great breakfast
A walk to town isn't realistic with a girl hell-bent on wearing high heels but taking the car was fine. A return drink at the bar was very pleasant.
Surroundings, environment, breakfast, restaurant, all quite nice.
No elevator, no assistant to bring the luggage to the room, several steps. Shower complicated to handle.
The room was comfortable and quaint as we stayed in the older part of the hotel.
The restaurant food was quite plain and simple and a little over priced for the quality received.
The room itself is basic and a bit pricey for what it is. However, the view where the restaurant is great. Good location and try punting , it is fun!
The price of the room is high considering the room was pretty basic. There's no air condition or electric fan in the room either.
The room, the facilities
The Legacy Rose and Crown was delightful, and well located for walking to the sights of Salisbury. We loved the garden walkouts off each room for sitting and enjoying the beautiful scenery and having a drink. The bar and restaurant was pretty good, although I think they could expand the inclusive breakfast for what they charge per night. We were spoiled with incredible B&B breakfasts until that point so the breakfast was the only thing that needed improvement for us. We would stay again for sure!
Location of hotel, friendly atmosphere.
No problem in this area
Superb position near the Cathedral Close on River Avon.
Free parking on site. The location was excellent. Close to Salisbury centre yet right on the River Avon where we could sit out and watch the wildlife on the river. A wonderful setting. The breakfast had a good choice of very fresh fare with the option of cooked items if required
We had an executive room in the newer part of the hotel. The setting an view were excellent, the facilities were good, but there does appear to be a problem with soundproofing. Since we were on the ground floor the noise from the room(s) above was very noticeable, particularly on our first night where a young child was running around the room from about 4am
Location by the river and cathedral The outdoor drinks and swan viewing area Restaurant Rooms in the "New" block
Room 8A in the "Old " building. Dark, airless, hot (no fan available), several windows but only one very small one could be opened. Receptionist was far from welcoming but all the other staff were excellent
A comfortable hotel in a lovely old building and in an excellent location. A fantastic view from our room of the Cathedral, the water meadows and the river.
Beds were too soft and pillows were poor too. Lots of insects - probably unavoidable in a riverside location.
