This hotel is in a very good location approx 5-10 mins walk from Kings cross. very good pubs and restaurants on the door step. Admittedly the single room I had was very small but was clean and serviceable. The guy on the reception was brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Would certainly return
location is ideal to get to near by places
the reception man didn't really take the hot shower not working seriously and didn't seeing it being a problem I had to ring 3 times eventually just didn't have a shower the toilet door was bust it didn't lock
Was close to train station. Easy to find.
not worth the money
The location and breakfast
Small rooms small bathroom Stained towel Tiny tv
staff very friendly, clean room, great location. Would stay there again.
Free wifi, excellent breakfast, polite helpful staff, tv in room, clean towels and room cleaned every day, everything you need for a cheap stopover, close to range of cafés and shops.
Carpets were a little old and stained.
I stayed in a single room, which was possibly the smallest room that I have ever seen, but since I only stayed overnight I was not too concerned about this. Would not recommend it for longer stays. The room itself was tidy and clean and the furniture seemed quite nice, so I was happy with my stay. The staff was also polite and helpful. All in all, the hotel was good value for money, and the location is nice and very convenient.
Was not too impressed with the breakfast, next time I would rather have breakfast in one of the many cafes around.
friendly and helpful reception and breakfast room staff
the cost - it's basically a bed and breakfast setup and therefore quite expensive in that category - nearby Tavistock Hotel about 20% cheaper although rooms there are quite dated.
Bed and a window to open
Wifi non existent, my iPad logged on but nothing came through, a bath would be better
Lack of lift
Location of the hotel is convinient. Small bottle of water and biscuit every day.
Extremely small room, no wardrobe. Noise from the outside because of the pub, which is in the neighborhood. Dirty carpet in the room. Breakfast is average. You can smell and hear everything what happens in the kichen. One morning tost was with the molds.
Location. Desk clerk was accommodating when in need for extra towels.
Rooms were way too small. The photo's on site gave impression that they were of a decent size. No room for suitcases. No room to swing a cat. Did not get value for money.
I was pleasantly impressed with the facilities within the room and the breakfast was made to order and very tasty.
I was woken up around 4 times with late comers repeatedly pressing the door bell which was massively noisy almost like a fire alarm - where was the Night Porter?
Location of hotel
The noise that carried on until 2am from some dubious customers who seemed to be working fro the room next to ours.
I particularly liked the fact that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, as I was preparing for a job interview!
Great location, very helpful 24 hour reception staff
Single room very small but maybe that's just London
The location of the hotel is excellent! Good Wifi, have TV.
We were staying in the only triple room which is basement, the room is a bit small and the tubes (underground) make noise in the evening.
The location (a short walk from both the train station and tube stop) and the new bathroom. The 24 hour reception was a big relief considering my flight was delayed and I arrived after 1am! The reception staff was very patient when their machine would not process either of my credit cards for the (upfront!!) payment of the room. They very kindly waited until the next day when I could withdraw the cash.
Don't be fooled by the images of this hotel - while it looks like it has been recently renovated, the improvements are very superficial aside from the bathroom. The first thing I noticed about the hotel when I entered was the grotty carpet in the reception and it set the tone and quality for the rest of the hotel. I did not feel like I could walk barefoot in my room because of the state of the carpet, and this was particularly exasperating after hours of walking around. The towel rail in the bathroom was gone having broken off who knows how long ago - clearly they can't be bothered replacing it. The walls are dirty and the skirting is chipped, cracked or missing. On my first morning of breakfast, as I sat alone in the breakfast room, I was horrified to be listening to the very loud discussion between the two ladies in the kitchen, which is a small cubicle separated from the dining area by simply a curtain. They were arguing over whether it was possible to clean four rooms in half an hour, disagreeing vehemently. They were aware of my presence which is why I was so shocked at their insisting on having this discussion. No doubt the ladies both work very hard and carry out multiple tasks from breakfast duties to room cleaning, however, I was left feeling extremely awkward to be party to this discussion, never mind fervently hoping that the lady cleaning MY room was the one who claimed it took more than 10 minutes to clean one room!!! Very unprofessional I'm afraid. The hotel is located in a student district and there were groups of students out on the streets doing what students do until the early hours of the morning. For anyone who is a light sleeper, this can be a problem - fortunately it was not for me. Being from Australia the rate of the room was equivalent to $200 per night and I did not feel that the room was in any way worth this amount.
Not a lot!
The room wasn't very clean, it was small & very basic. The bedding was hard. The shower head was split & sprayed out everywhere. There was no lift to get to the top floor with bags.
Nicely refurbished room.
Very small room,noisy
Location, location... Minutes from tube and main train station. I loved the option of hot breakfast and that the reception is open 24 hours. My room was just right and the bathroom was very clean and simple. If you dont like generic toileteries, bring your own. A great little find on a quiet street.
The staircase was a bear to navigate, very narrow and steep at times. It is an old house, so this is totally understandable, but may be a bit tricky for those who are less mobile.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast too late had to be in work for 8am. Walls paper thin could hear conversations in next room. V poor value for money.
Good location with friendly and very helpful staff.
