Quiet hotel with attractive garden and convenient for York city centre. Poor vegetarian menu. Mattresses and pillows badly in need of renewal. |

Location was very central I was given a room in the annex, very far from the reception, requiring a long walk and stairs; it would have been different if I'd known, it felt like I had a second rate expereince at the standard price |

Although the hotel is old the guest rooms are well appointed, clean and very comfortable. A cooling fan was provided in the absence of air conditioning. |

My wife and I both enjoyed our weekend in York, however, we did not think that £119 +parking was a reasonable price to pay.I f this had included breakfast then it might have made it more amenable. We did not think the room reflected the cost. |

It was ideally located for the railway station and York city centre. The facilities in the hotel also matched my needs. |

convienient location, good staff excessive road noise needs double glazing(no i am not a salesman) Strongly object to credit card fee visa card I paid cash in the end surely it is more convienient to both you and the customer noytto have to mess around with cash in this day and age. |

The amosphere was very pleasant, food was very good, breakfast was excellent, staff very helpfull and informative. Rooms smaller than anticipated, armchairs in poor condition, windows very dirty, hadn't been cleaned for quite some time, the view would have been a lot better had they been clean. |

The comfort, the facilities and the staff - especially the reception staff. Great location for a fantastic weekend in a wonderful city. Rather too expensive perhaps. Hairdryer not working properly. But these are only niggles compared to the outstanding service and position of the hotel |

breakfast was fantastic . the lovely old setting with fabulous oldbuilding with the modern refurb is great , easy to find and right in the heart of york i booked a garden view room through booking .com when i got there there were non available due to hot water problems , so we were moved to another room which had a sewage problem ,so we were moved again to a disabled room ,having said this the manager droped the room price and gave us parking free and we got breakfast free . im a very very difficult person to please ,it was not the reduction in price i would normally flip the manager and staff were the tops |

the leisure facilities were nice. the room was average. the restaurant was quite expensive, especially for wine. the breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and also self service, which meant youn could have exactly what you wanted. |
