Overlooking the River Ouse, the Park Inn by Radisson is in the center of York. It has air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TVs, a riverside bar, a modern restaurant and on-site parking.
Score from 1865 reviews Very good
Located overlooking the city’s Roman walls, The Hampton by Hilton York is across from York Train Station and a 10-minute walk from the historic center.

Score from 52 reviews Wonderful
In a secluded courtyard in the heart of York city center, this charming hotel is half a mile from York Train Station and York Minster. It has a fitness center with a gym, saunas and an indoor pool.

Location and convenient parking
Lack of a comfortable bar and also lounge. Bathroom had no extract fan and the shower got too hot and the adjustment was poor.
The wifi connection is pretty fast The staff were helpful
The wifi only worked on one device. So if you wanted to connect your phone and laptop - forget about it.
Staff, facilities, food, swimming pool, sauna
Pillows were a bit hard
The location of this hotel was good with easy access to the city. Breakfast was relaxed and plenty of choice which was regularly replenished.
Signposting to the Car Park needs to be clearer. Most of us had parked in the short stay/drop off at thestation before getting direcions to main parking area.
Location of the hotel is great, the breakfast was lovely.
Parts of the hotel need some tlc for example bathrooms.
excellent location as we travelled around and everything was on our doorstep
Not worth 50 pound per night let alone 179 disgrace
Breakfast was awful - hair in bean, floppy undercooked bacon, not very tasty. No where to sit. Overcrowded Over priced for what you got Not very comfy bed. Too hot in the room
The hotel was fantastic all the facilities were brilliant, the bed was comfortable and had a good wifi connection
We were advised we would be located in the royal garden wing, which with a name like that you would assume a garden view, we booked the hotel on the pictures of the historic building only to find we were in the events centre with a view of York sorting office, the room was no better than a Premier Inn at a higher price
Room and location was excellent.
Coffee at breakfast was poor
Excellent location for York city centre. Room clean, breakfast good.
Expensive for what it is. Worn in places.
perfect position /Quiet despite central location Staff helpful
Ladies toilet in reception need paintwork cleaning especially doors very grimy dinner as not as good as expected vegetables undercooked fishcake starter tasteless presentation poor.
The location of the hotel is perfect. It is just right next to the Railway Station. For those who are from cities and are hestitate to look for the hotel in the dark, it is the place for you! Plus, it is also very convenient for you to go to anywhere in the city of York from the hotel.
We were there one night everyghing to our satisfaction
The location is superb, especially if arriving by train. Just yards from the station and only a few minutes walk from the city centre and the minster it couldn't be more convenient. Leave the car at home, driving round York is a nightmare. Our room gained in size (huge) what it lacked in luxury (time for some tlc). And the bed was enormous. It's a grand old dame of a place, but always busy and bustling. The reception and concierge were efficient - unlike the bar/snack servers who couldn't seem to comprehend the simplest of requests. The grounds are pleasant - though rather more car parky than the publicity shots suggest. We would certainly re-visit though.
We could have done without the power cut the day after we arrived - and the fact that the shower gave up the ghost on morning two. Still it made us overlook the fact that our room hadn't been made up all day. There was no explanation or apology about the power cut but the shower was attended to promptly and the room was given a late night make-over! A £20 refund and complimentary bottle of wine did the trick.
We liked everything about the royal. Only little let down was Cold plates at breakfast. The staff and rooms and evening meal were brilliant.
Cold plates at breakfast .
Staff were excellent, service was great. Room immaculately turned out, bottle of water was very nice big luxurious towels in the bathroom big enough to house a car. It was great
The only negative was the portion at dinner left us feeling hungry. Haute cuisine is sometimes taken a little too haute there!
Great location. Beautiful building and very helpful staff.
The bed was extremely comfortable and without the noise from the trains and air conditioning I'm sure I would have slept great! Staff were friendly and helpful.
We had to switch rooms because the first room was freezing! Television signal was very poor. Air con was very noisy and had to turn it off resulting in freezing room the next morning. Whole room vibrated every time a train arrived in the station and the noise was horrendous throughout the night. Bathroom was in need of a good clean. Tempus bar smelled very strongly of chlorine and felt very humid. Lift to our room in the garden wing is not for the faint hearted.
We loved the hotel being literally on York station as we travelled on this occasion by train. We loved the hotel itself - the size of it and the history. The staff were genuine and friendly and treated us as if we were staying in the finest suite (which we were not - sadly!). The room had a high ceiling, lovely light fittings, a huge bed and an enormous bathroom. All spotlessly clean. Loved it all.
No wi fi in the bedroom.
location was great for our needs
on site parking charges and £11-40 for 2 gin/tonics i think is expensive
location excellent Staff very friendly
very small rooms, in need of a face lift throughout the hotel.
As we had travelled from London to York by train with the sole purpose of going to see Castle Howard about 1 hr away we opted for this hotel as it was beside the train station and close to town. Didn't eat in the hotel as York is full of lovely restaurants.
Nothing really to complain about. Staff very helpful and friendly, tho didn't realise there was a bus stop to Castle Howard almost beside the hotel and had directed us to a much further away one. However, we discovered this on our way and informed them on our return. .
Like a York power cut, the staff were remarkable. Calm, controlled, helpful, especially the conference staff
central to the train station
Had an offer to upgrade which I expected a lot bigger room. Bed too soft and pillow like you were suffocating in them. After a day of travelling and shopping wanted a shower late. It was scalding hot wouldn't cool down, Complained was offered another room to shower in which was inconvenient. Room was small have slept in better places for £109. Didn't use the leisure facilities
