The design and location
Our room was too stuffy and small
Excellent staff. Pleasant gardens. Situation.
Having to pay for car parking. Size of bedroom- restricted and not enough cupboard space. Temperature in rooms too high. Food not 4 star quality- breakfast and bar meal luke warm. Decoration needs to be improved.
Everything apart from the room.
En-suite facilities, due to cold water from the shower. Busy constant train station noise.
The hotel facilities and the location to the town
Room was very disappointing. We have stayed in much better 3 star accommodation.........
Nice hotel, good value for money and great location.
Very small double bed!
Helpful and friendly staff. They went out their way to change our room from 5th floor as my wife had difficulty managing the stairs.
Friendly, helpful staff
Found sash window difficult to close, but a very nice member of staff came to close window when we rang reception for help.
no hot water and no satisfactory explanation by staff
Used Tampon in Bedroom! Noise. Staff very poor
Location to York City centre excellent.
Older rooms in the hotel room 122 where we stayed (after booking superior garden room which was to small) we asked to be moved.rear of the property/railway station are in great need of refurbishment and sound proofing.
Large, grand old building with plenty of character and charm.
Rooms were dated, stuffy, hot water wasn't working properly!
Great location. Staff and breakfast
Basement room, people easily looking in from the street and royal mail offices.
there are not enough drawers or shelves to place clothes for a week's stay
Beautiful historical building right next to train station
Was problem getting hot water
Courtesy and attention
Needed fresh new pillows
Room was clean. Old fashioned. No a/c. Creaky floor.
Had an excellent evening meal at the hotel dining room. Super view of city skyline.
Bedroom small and poky. Overall decor a bit tired.
had to go back twice to reception couldnt find our room , the staff we asked whilst looking for our room kept sending us in circles cos they said they dint know were it was either , would of been helpful for a porter to take us there, rooms need upgrading , very stuffy,
Hotel and staff were fab
Room to small next to main road
total lack of hot water
Staff were rude and in helpful. I asked and paid for a family room with cot and this is not what I received and I asked for an easily accessible room as my daughter is disabled and again this was not what I received.
Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff and right beside the station!
No air conditioning and the hotel was boiling causing some restless sleep.
Staff and near to city center
Shabby, tiles in bathroom black , skirting boards need painting
Being able to book in early so that I could use my room to get ready for the races
