Had an amazing stay and got a free Upgrade! would reccomend to anyone!
hotel overall very good
bathroom not up to the standard of the rest of the room
Evening food menu option was very limited. Expected much more given the quality and cost of the stay. We did not eat in the evening at the Hotel for this reason.
Location Comfy bed Good quality bed linen and towels
Bar, old fashioned, uncomfortable, smells.Dirty ashtrays, never emptied. Staff slow and lacking in customer service. Room old fashioned furniture (apart from bed) - miles from reception, bathroom very poor, shower old and luke warm with no power to it. Hot water in basin tap burns! Toilet flush poor and often loose. Overpriced for facility even with the reduction.
excellent location. veranda to sit out on to have a drink from the bar and a smoke. breakfasts were great. my wife and I really enjoyed our stay, very relaxing. car parking.
The staff were very friendly and polite, the rooms were very large and comfortable
Location was perfect, reception staff were always friendly & very helpful.
No hot water for a shower, waited over half an hour to be seated for breakfast and the room was very disappointing
A great location (very close the city without being too close to the city rush) and the Hotel is large, with lots of room but has a really friendly atmosphere
Had to pay extra for parking but at least there was plenty of parking available
everything aprt from the heat in our room,
the room was so hot we had to keep the window open all night, and I know its unavoilable but we were kept awke by the traffic noise..
great location excellent facilities peaceful
Pool was quite small
Comfortable bed. Hotel perfect location.
Having to pay extra for parking
Design of room
Mould on shower cubicles in changing rooms of leisure centre
Location, parking, room
Poor water pressure in morning
Staff brill all round loved it defo stay again
Nothing it was all perfect
Staff were helpful & polite, food was of good quality, gym/pool was very good.
The bedroom had no air conditioning & we had the window slightly open & with the noise of the trains had broken sleep. The stair carpets are thread bare on level 2/3 need to be replaced. The flags on the entrance to the car park area need replacing as they are tattered & dirty resulting in unwelcoming entrance.
I was ill when I arrived and the staff were so caring and considerate, nothing was too much trouble, I will certainly return.
only thing going for it is its location which is close to the city walls and attractions as well as the railway station but that unfortunately in this case is possibly not a good thing.
Noise from both inside the hotel and outside traffic which would appear to affect the majority of the rooms and more so the room closest to the railway station. the corridor and room had a undefinable odor not unlike industrial tar acid disinfectant. disappointing stay for a supposedly 4star hotel.
Excellent view from our room. Fine breakfast. Superb parking facilities. Very helpful receptionist and hotel porter.
Dirty windows when were they last cleaned? and shabby carpets. Poor indifferent service in the bar, even serving pizzas in boxes!! The bar and restaurant are furnished like a working men's club rather than a 4star hotel.
The hotel is very traditional and comfortable with spacious rooms and friendly service. The locality is ideal as a base for short break with everything of interest within walking distance.
My room was on first floor facing the front and being on the main road was very noisy.
The location was good as were the staff generally. Breakfast was good but could be improved. The bathroom in our twin room was very nice and looked liked it had recently been re-done.
Stayed in a twin room (overlooking the garden), the beds were far too soft so the mattresses are due an upgrade! The bedroom was dark and gloomy and rather shabby in places. Brown everywhere which was depressing !!
We booked a twin room but then changed it to a double but we still got a twin room which was very noisey as it was on the main road across from the main bus stop. Parking is limited and you have to pay for it. Breakfast was good.
Paying for parking as the hotel rooms are not cheap to stay in.
The view was excellent and the room was perfect!!
Nice bathroom and furnishings. Lovely view. Some of the staff were a credit but others were certainly not.
Lack of storage for clothes. Room was hot and quite claustrophobic. Had a late night at a convention and found particular bar staff unhelpful and very unenthusiastic. Guinness poured with several inches of head. For the price of the room no fridge or air con.
