The newly refurbished Royal York Hotel is set in 3 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens in the heart of York. The hotel boasts spectacular views over York Minster and is within easy access of the city centre.

Nestling beneath the city's ancient walls, the Royal York stands proud in beautifully kept gardens and has spectacular views overlooking the historic city and York Minster. This magnificent Victorian building has recently undergone a major 7 million pound refurbishment and investment programme to enable us to offer the ultimate in luxury hotel accommodation, facilities and standards.

The hotel is within a 2 minute walk of the city centre and many places of interest including the Shambles, National Railway Museum, York Race Course and provides an ideal base from which to visit the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.

All 170 of the hotels en-suite bedrooms have been furnished to an upper four star standard to ensure your comfort is guaranteed. Whether you choose a standard or contemporary room either in the hotel or the mews, you can be assured that you will experience one of the most comfortable and memorable bedroom experiences in the country.

The Royal York offers unrivalled facilities for meetings, conferences, banqueting and special events with function rooms, equipped to the highest of standards accommodating between 2 and 410 people including the purpose built world class events centre which can seat 410 delegates theatre style or 200 people for dinner.

The hotel boasts a fully equipped leisure centre complete with swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool spa and gymnasium. The brand new Tempus Bar is the ideal venue to meet new friends or relax whilst having a pre-dinner drink.

Easily accessible by road, rail and air, the Royal York Hotel and Events Centre is conveniently located adjacent to York Station and has ample on-site car parking (charges apply).

The room was lovely and reasonably spacious. The decor and style was
very pleasant. Safe parking and excellent location for city centre. The
breakfast times were good.

first room we were offered smelt dreadful, as didi the corridor outside, and the 'double' bed was the samllest we had ever encountered. the second room was much better, but still not very large. the hotel needs considerable investment to bring the rooms up to a modern standard.

Slight cleanliness problem with the room. External noise and room temperature resulted from lack of air-conditioning & double glazing.

nice big hotel

didn't like being in small extension having to use 2 different lifts to get to my room. Shame was looking to get married next year and was looking for possible venues to host 200 guests!

The housekeeping staff were first class,,,problem with a feather duvet
as I am asthmatic but it was rectified right away.....room well
appointed and spotlessly clean. Convenient for transport links and
railway museum. Leisure pool a plus.

The bar was expensive and the decor a bit barren, but the staff
were nice.

Food, the standard of cuisine in the hotel reataurant was first class

We wanted to change our dinner reservation for a second time. We told reception of the change, but were told that the 'list' had already gone. Was that our problem?? This is poor service. We did go to the restaurant and tell them of the change, only to discover that our original change hadn't been made in the first place! Pathetic!

the sheer luxury...............the location- central easy to locate etc.

i am a vegetarian & the bacon/ sausages for breakfast were unsuitable for me to eat.An alternative would have been a good idea! I can't haver been the only vegetarian staying over the weekend?

The bed was large and comfy

I didnt like staying in the garden part of hotel felt out of the way and
felt that we were staying in a different hotel.
