not much when we booked it and the paperwork said we could have our room by 10.30 in the morning which I thought was early but when we arrived they told us the room would not be ready till three and the member of staff was very rude showed him the paperwork not even an apology, the room we booked was not what we got, we got a standard twin when we complained they then gave us a standard double not even an iron in the room they said they were to busy because they had a wedding on. This was booked as a present for my 21st birthday I was very unhappy it ruined my weekend This room was not excutive double Staff RUDE RUDE RUDE

The location in respect of the railway ( one guest was travelling from Uni), a city break as myself and my wife have stayed before. The quality of service and food was excellent. Staff were helpful and professional. Bar price expensive, our bathroom (204) smelt of stale urine not unbearable to complain. There were functions on which disturbed us slightly.

Location was ok as it was located close to the railway station and carpark was directly next to the hotel although you have to pay £10 for the privalege When we checked in we were impressed by the entrance hall as it was very grand. We were given our key and went up to the room. What a dissapointment. The hotel room looked like a council bedsit. The room smelt of wet dog and the furnature was all damaged and I have seen better bathrooms in hostels. We were very unhappy so complained to reception, they upgraded the room to what they descirbed as an Executive Suite. This is what I would say was a a standrd room, Wont be staying at this hotel again.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, we were upgraded to a king suite and wasn't disappointed, it was superb and I would recommend anyone to stay in one of these suites. Hotel facilities are excellent with a restaurant in the hotel and a large dining room that serves an excellent breakfast. We will definitely go back.

The hotel itself was very nice as were the staff, however the room was a huge disappointment and very poor value for money. The Queen Mary suite was very poor. There was inadequate lighting to such an extent that you could not see to get ready in an evening. The bed, although nice to look at was very uncomfortable with a poor quality matress. The bathroom was extremely shoddy with a tatty plywood bath panel, cracked wall and floor tiles and no extractor fan. All in all we were very disappointed with the accomodation considering the inflated price. We will definitely not be revisiting.

Convenient for centre of town, ample parking good choice of rooms. Friendly, efficient and helpful service. Strong dislike of the self service "hot" breakfast counter. Understandable when business is very busy but poor when there are relatively low numbers of clients taking breakfast. Result is luke warm food which had been sitting around for too long, congealed fried eggs, dried up black pudding etc. Self service toast.

Front desk staff/concierge very helpful and friendly. Brilliant location. There was a function that finished approx midnight but there were revellers outside screaming and shouting until 0230, the windows were only single pane and we were on first floor so it was very noisy and difficult to sleep. Maybe these people could be moved along in the future by staff. Other than that we had lovely time.

The location right beside the railway station as I was catching a train at 6.30am the following morning. Room on the 7th floor in the new part of the hotel very comfortable. Did not arrive until 10.00 at night and went straight to bed so can not comment on the facilities of the hotel Would certainly stay again

Excellent Hotel, great location near to city centre and train station. Great rooms especially if you get upgraded to the executive rooms like the rest of our party did in the Kings Quarters. Buffet breakfast is very good and great service. Nice that there is car parking next to the hotel, but it costs £10 in the week and £15 pounds on a weekend. Would like it to be free if you say at the hotel, it was the first time we stayed there.

Great friendly staff, modern but quirky and unusual not bland, loved the decor keeping its original features but upto date and modern excellent refurbishment, they gave us a free up grade to the kings! Which was great, double executive, 6th floor with great views of city and beyond the lovely clwydian hills, one of the nicest rooms we have stayed in for a long time, all the mod cons and more even a sensor dimmer light which comes on in the night when you go into the bathroom. Would definately recommend staying to anyone. Great if you want the history as well as they have gladiators down the corridors with historic facts, can't wait to go back! Not a bad thing to say!
