Staff excellent Food excellent Music in restaurant excellent Bucks Fizz for breakfast excellent
Four poster bed in upgraded Queen Mary room was very noisy and the wardrobe wouldn't shut. Wouldn't pay for an upgrade again.
Historic ambience, Roman displays and sculptures, courtyard, location, great atmosphere. All in all a pleasing place to relax, refresh and revive. So glad to have had the experience. Will be back very soon. Have related your virtues to all my friends , relatives and anybody else who was interested. My stay was for business rather than pleasure but I observed the conferences, etc, going on around and that all seemed impressively efficient and organised with flair and finesse.
Wonky lift, maintenance man was doing his best. Afraid I am unable to marshall any more dislikes and I am not that easy to please so if I experienced you during a high achieving period, I am willing to believe that it was the typical norm at your lovely hotel. No doubt about it , you have something special.
Staff were all very friendly
Bar prices were well above what local bars were paying.
Had a lovely stay at the hotel with my partner in the kings suite. Room was absolutely beautiful as well as the grounds, and was very impressed with standard of service. Breakfast was delicious. 10/10! Highly recommend
The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance from the train station and in to Chester. 9 friends stayed here for the races and couldn't fault the staff or rooms. Would definitely recommend.
Location. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We were given an upgrade to the Kings at the Queens and were on the 6th floor so we were well away from the noise of the wedding party in the main hotel, much appreciated. Very tasty breakfast.
the pillows look fluffy but when you put your head on them they go as flat as a pancake!!
Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Restaurant staff excellent.
Reception staff all very abrupt and not very pleasant. Spoilt stay. They need to be happy and helpful at all times.
Excellent hotel - we booked it because of its location across from the station since we needed to catch an early train. This is a traditional hotel with lots of historical aspects. The bathroom was magnificent - the best we encountered in a 5 week holiday! We would heartily recommend this hotel.
nothing to say
friendly staff, fantastic breakfast, good value
aircon a bit noisy but opening a window shuts it off
Helpful and polite staff, decor & room size
A little pricey, paying for parking
Our initial room was in the Queens part of the hotel where the accommodation was great but my elderly Mother found the beds too soft for her bad back. After speaking to reception they kindly moved us to the Kings hotel. Here the beds were a dream and facilities excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a break in wonderful Chester.
Nothing, everything was excellent.
Courteous staff Size of room Quality of furnishings and fixtures Good choice of food Times for breakfast Close to transport links Grounds Resturant at the kings
Quality of bread at Breakfast Small en suite
Location, decor and feel of hotel. great breakfast. Good value.
This hotel has a theme style decor which was very interesting and makes it just that bit different from the average.
Our bed was king size and perhaps 2 singles joined together. We both felt we were going to roll out because of the height in the middle. This was probably just unlucky as another friend had a lovely bed.
Close to the old city
everything was satisfactory
The location and parking facilities
We were with friends 4 of us, I requested a table for dinner, reception confirmed table for dinner and then stated it could only cope with two people not 4, what a joke then attempted to sell us breakfast, room in the tower block at the back awful.
We like the Queen Hotel and the Staff in the restaurant are excellent.
I booked into the Queen Hotel and on arrival was told that My room was in the Kings Hotel, I complained as my wife likes to stay in the old part of the hotel (Queen Hotel) this is the third time this has happened and we are very disappointed that this keeps happening. On our previous visit in Dec. 2013 it happened but after we complained they gave us a room in the Queen Hotel. Unfortunately this time (24th Sept ) when we complained and requested a room in the Queen Hotel as we had reserved, we were told there were none available and we had to settle for a room in the King Hotel. The King Hotel is very nice but we prefer to stay in the Queen Hotel and would appreciate in future if we could get what we reserved.
Decor Space Staff
Air con in room far too noisy, it could not be used over night.
Room was clean , great night sleep would defiantly stay again thank you
The room was spotless and faultless The view from the room The relaxed atmosphere in the courtyard Staff were very attentive and helpful
There was nothing
booked through booking dot com. breakfast deleted had to pay extra for this even though cost me £109 for the night and a further £10 to park. not forgivable, if you use dot com sites its the whole package, staff help sort this out well however it was embarrassing for me,
