friendliness of the staff, facilities were good as ever .
Excellent in everyway
I was given a complimentary room upgrade which was nice however this was two twin beds pushed together when I booked a double which made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. There was also only one bathrobe provided for two people which may not seem much but when you want to use them can be an issue.
There wasn't anything to dislike
Decor and location
Creaky floorboards and toilet flush and pricy drinks
Location great, hotel room was fantastic. Staff very helpful and the bar was open all night
Perfect location - comfortable room - LARGE bathroom, gorgeous food.. hotel so clean and tidy and lovely quirky building
The location and breakfast were execent.
The wall between us and the next room was so thin that we could hear every single word the occupants said. The car park charge is £5 more expensive at the weekend and i think its wrong to charge customers the full price for parking (£15.00). The room was nice but not worth £149. Another couple we chatted to paid just £99 for the same-this is unfair.
everthing thats why we choose to stay at this hotel so often
The helpfulness of the staff, the convenience of the hotel being near Chester Station and to enable buses to go into the town, the surprise of being upgraded when we arrived and the comfort of our room. Many thanks we will return sooner rather than later.
This is our third visit in the last two years.Staff at all levels are one of the greatest assets in this hotel - friendly, professional, welcoming and helpful. It is hard to single staff out but restaurant, bar and reception have always been excellent and the concierge is a rare gem! We have stayed in a range of rooms across the building which have all been spotless along with general areas, and you will have to go a long way to beat this hotel overall.
Great hotel, great decor. Food was delicious. Staff were friendly. Quote expensive for food and any little extras you want.
The £10 per day parking cost. And additional extras and food was pretty expensive.
The breakfast was exceptional (especially for a hotel chain). A very wide selection and all was very well cooked - even the sausages, which are usually underdone in the large hotels.
The restaurant carpet was a bit grubby.
Location was excellent. Stepped out the station and hotel was in front of you.
Just check in and check out times. Other places I've stayed in have earlier check in and later check out times.
Close to teppanyaki Restaurant which we went to. Opposite the Station. Rooms well appointed and clean.
Beds to small as Used to sleeping in a super King. Never happy with Price. 15 pound hotel Parking is expensive, should be free.
The room was of a good size as was the bathroom and both were spotless
Not really a complaint but we had to queue at reception on arrival.
Everything was class
Couldnt complain at anything
Qwerky style of hotel, staff and food
Fantastic, friendly, helpful staff!!! The room was excellent, great comfort and facilities.
I stayed with my partner, for Valentines day. The location was perfect; we got the train in and were literally there after stepping out the station doors. The check in wasnt until 15:00 however we arrived at 13:00 and were allowed into the room. The room was large and spacious (for a basic double room we weren't expecting this) with a table and 2 lounge chairs. The wifi router was in the room too with no code so it was exceptionally easy and quick to access. The cleanliness of the room was outstanding and the facilities brilliant; my partner made use of them by settling down to a cup of tea, biscuits and the tv in the lounge chairs while I got ready.
The only fault I can give is not really about the hotel or staff; but the other guests. Please remember if you are staying in a hotel that people sleep at different times and you should always be concious of that through keeping quiet when passing rooms.
Excellent staff and a good location.
not a complaint but the check in was slow due to having only one person manning it.
The hotel its self is visually spectacular. The food was great and staff extremely helpful. The bar was comfortable and reasonably priced.tge train station is across the road.
The bed needed an extra thin sheet under the quilt; there wasnt any tea bags and we couldn't regulate the temperature if we had stayed longer we would have asked and the staff would have been more than accomodating. Otherwise brilliant
