Sofitel London Gatwick  

The room was luxurious and comfortable. Outstanding service from every employee I encountered and the food was outstanding! If you are hungry and want room service, you might think only a steak will do. The steak (rib eye) is very good but I strongly recommend you get the burger with cheese and bacon. You won't regret it. Absolutely off-the-scale delicious!

After travelling for ten hours and arriving at midnight the hotel is in an absolutely wonderful location, particularly in winter. You are no more than a five minute walk from collecting luggage to being in the hotel reception area. The general ambience is warm and friendly. We were not there long enough to use the hotel facilities but they looked invitiing. We would stay there again but not in the poorly thought out disabled room/bathroom.

I booked a twin room but the beds were really more suitable for children being only about 30 inches wide. I actually felt that I might fall out of the bed it was so narrow. I booked a disabled room but if my husband had been in a wheelchair he would not have been able to flush the loo! The very small wash hand basin was at a good height for a wheelchair but there was nowhere to put your toiletries which was annoying for me but would have been worse for a wheelchair bound individual. The bathroom was big and would easily have accommodated a vanity unit and a second basin at normal height. I would also recommend that the loo is positioned so that it can be flushed from both sides of it I would also suggest some sort of unit placed next to the washbasin to hold people's toiletries or that the basin be semi fitted within a unit..

Stayed overnight as easy to get into the north terminal at Gatwick airport for an early morning flight. Very good hotle . Bedrooms extremely comfortable. No noise from aircraft.

Convenience to Airport but more upmarket than surrounding hotels therefore making it still very much part of your trip rather than a stopover.

A lovely hotel very easy to get to , from arrivals at 6.30 am and allowed to have a late check out with no extra charge (2.00 pm). We stayed while in transit from Barbados to Dublin and had 5 hours sleep between flights. With monorail very close it was easy to go between north and south terminals. Would be very happy to use again. Joe and Marjorie.

It was so convenient arriving on the last flight in and needing to be back to check in early the next morning.

Most of it was excellent. Very convenient for airport.

There was a very long, slow check-in queue. There were only two check-in staff on duty at around 17.30 Sunday night 8th January and one of them was dealing with a flight crew which took a very long time. I don't always have the time or interest to complete customer surveys but the Sofitel London Gatwick did impress. I stayed at this hotel on business for the first time in January and will again . The reception was quick and attentive and after having decided to take a drink at the bar alongside, service was the same, attentive, friendly and welcoming. Rooms are easy to find and very clean . The next morning before a stressful business meeting I was able to relax in the lounge . I ordered a continental breakfast from a very friendly waiter and between my calls I requested additional orange juice which the waiter delivered . I also noticed a duty manager greeting customers which for myself shows an interest in standards . Thank you are again and when staying or flying from London I will request your hotel is booked for my stay . Mr David Jones

Great location, very comfortable hotel. Perfect if you have an early morning flight, like we did.
