Great location, clean but small room and very friendly staff. Queuing for breakfast and the shortage of staff on duty at such a busy time.

We came for a wedding and the reception was at the Met. We liked the friendliness of the staff. Online booking implied there would be plenty of parking but we couldn't park at the hotel. I think it ought to say restricted parking available.

The location was fantastic, right near the station, city centre bars and shops. The hotel was impressive; both in design and interior presentation. The room was big with plenty of space for us all and the bathroom was big, bright and very clean. The hotel was very quiet and we got a good nights sleep in the comfortable beds. We will be staying there again!

Beautiful old iconic hotel but corporatised beyond recognision. Booking made in june for 2 rooms, paid in full at time. Only one room available on arrival. Put in a disabled room, very small for us as able bodied people not safe for a wheelchair, sink would not drain, mould around theshower tiles and shower curtain , loose toilet seat, I fell off, toilet had been painted and it was peeling off. Moved when complained, not good after along flight from Australia! No help on arrival or departure with heavy luggage and had to come in through survice entrance due to steps outside! Our daughters stayed in a the twin room, they found a stanley knife in their bathroom!!!!!!!! Complaint brought the offer of a free drink! This was supposed to be a treat at a posh hotel. We were asked to pay a further 79 pounds for the room upgrade when checking out are you surprised that we refused.

Everyone was so polite. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Room service was excellent. We were given an approximate time and the food arrived within that time. It was within a good walking distance to the shops and some nightlife.

the room was lovely and we were lucky to get a free upgrade. it was clean and the bed was great. The staff were very professional and helpful. its so easy to find the hotel.it was very good value for money and breakfast was nice. the shower dorr seal was mouldy and the DIY around the bath taps was poor. I did expect there to be a few more toiletries but understand the environmently friendly approach being used by the hotel. TVwas a bit dated but worked fine.

The Met is near the station and not far from the Shopping areas. And this time I had a nice room, with good heating and quiet (320). The Staff is always very friendly and helpful. This time everything was fine. Thank you.

I stayed here as I was working in the area; my experience was very positive; the staff were amongst the friendliest I have met in hotels, and I travel a lot. The room was lovely, spacious, clean, and with a very comfortable bed. Plenty of desk space to work, with Internet connection. Large bathroom with bath and overhead shower and again lots of space for all my girly toiletries!! Comfortable lounge downstairs in the bar, and very relaxed atmosphere. I would definately stay again; in fact I've booked in

Very near the station but in a quiet small street. Has parking on site. Impressive building with lots of high ceilings and character. Staff helpful and pleasant. Rooms quite small and nothing special. Lighting bad in my room, quite dark.

Worst hotel ever, I dont know why it has 4 stars, most of the 3 stars where i stayed in the past are better and also some 2 stars. The walls are thin, if someone walked in the corridor i could hear him breathing.

Reception and check in friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable - warm and clean. Stayed two nights and had best two nights sleep I have had in a hotel. Food at breakfast was very good. The room where breakfast was served was very dark - it was difficult to see what I was eating!

The effort in making the design, whilst not quite boutique, certainly a cut above your average hotel. Bathroom clean and felt quite new. Rom spacious. The wifi didn't work in the room when the promise online was 'free wifi', not 'free wifi but only downstairs'.
