Fantastic room for myself and my two sons aged 14 and 12- gorgeous beds comfortable clean and spacious- excellent value for money. Will definitely stay again.

The bedroom was great as we had an infant child they gave us a very large room

During and immediately after using the shower, the bathroom floor was basically flooded.

We check in at 4.00pm after along travel from London. We greeted by a swing door that hit my friend head, fair to say its a windy day. Nice stair case and fire place. Convenient to the city centre n train station. Good location.

Check in, were given room on second floor. Found that the room was not made, dirty wine glass.call the reception, was told to go back to reception. The receptionist wasnt really interested in changing us to a different room, kept telling there is no roim available. Told us to wait. We were offer a complimentry drink by perhaps one of the manager on duty. All the time we waited no one had come to us and keep us informed. We waited for almost and hour before we decided to go and ask the front desk about our room. The receptionist took one glance at us and just with quiet almost unheard mouth at us saying the room is ready for us.

The outside of the hotel is very pretty, the foyer also very attractive, the bathroom was large, white and excellent.

Staff not available when service required in lounge Meals in restaurant good, but not enough staff to enable service for diners already eating meal (when a conference group came into dining room). Breakfast could be available until 10.00 a.m. to facilitate those guests on holiday.

being in a room 3 floors above where the laundry is delivered at 6am in the morning, Cleaning staff walking in without a knock at 9am on our departure day, shoddy cleaning of the room, hair dryer not working, lift being out of order.

The location

I was disgusted at the smell in our room. Clearly there is a problem with the drains, we should never have been put in that room in the first place, we were later moved. We asked for the room an hour longer & still charged for the pleasure !

Very clean room. Comfy bed. Nice and clean shower.

I hadn't been told how to work the light so it took me a moment to work out how to turn the lights on in the dark

The bedroom was a good size. The food was average

There was loud musac playing in the dining room which was totally unnecessary.The bedroom was cold and the hot water took about 5mins to get hot. The tv was old fashioned. It was not a four star hotel.

Upmarket hotel; listed building with impressive architecture; comfy rooms; right in the city centre close to everything

The decor is tired. The grouting in the bathroom was dirty, and it looks like it has had many years of poorly applied repairs and renovations - with amateurishly applied sealant for example, spoiling the overall look. The tv didn't work properly. There was virtually no food available after 10 at night. The bar was closed at 10.30. there was no minibar in the room. I wouldn't stay there again.

twin room 2nd bed was sofa bed which wasnt as comfy as expected

The staff were very friendly and made me feel at home. The bathroom and bedroom were very spacious and the breakfast was good.

Location and value

Location is excellent.

First night we were on the 6th floor in a very small very hit room. We didn't get any sleep as it was so hot. The hotel dealt with it very well and moved us to the 3rd floor which was so much better. Like a different hotel.

Lovely lobby, location & building.

Room too warm even with heating off & window open, room small... Hair around bath that wasn't mine, mould on shower guard. One person on reception at key time so long wait to check in, would expect more from this sort of hotel.

First impressions were that the hotel was really nice and well looked after

Our room was very poor. The tiles were dirty, window was broken, there was a bad smell in the room, the tv was poor and it was very difficult to get to sleep with the amount of noise .
