There were no towels to be found in our room, apart from one from the swimming pool - which may or may not have been clean! There was no indication of how to contact reception; we tried the usual nos. but still had no luck - the only document in the room was a room service menu. After a visit to reception we were brought some very scruffy (but presumably clean) towels. The safe had been left open and could not be closed without the previous guest's code, so not only were we unable to use it, but it swung open all the time unless the wardrobe door was firmly shut - difficult if you needed to use the wardrobe! Although the bathroom was clean, it was tiny with an over-the-bath shower, which took an age to drain and every time a neighbouring bathroom was used, dirty water came back up the plug-hole. I would not have wanted to pay the full price for the room! I did not think the breakfast worth the £10 p.p. it cost (although, to be fair, we didn't order the individually cooked items), but the porridge was good. Worst of all, late in the evening, we saw a lady who was distressed (it sounded as if she had mislaid something) talking to two male members of staff, who did nothing to help and allowed her to walk off, still upset.
The bedroom (Superior Double) was spacious and looked out over the grounds.
