The leisure centre.
The food was terrible. The breakfast was cold. The wine wasn't chilled
Very positive, helpful staff
Some areas of building a little tired looking and smely musty
Hotel is clean and comfortable and the food is lovely. Beautiful building with some stunning original features
Facilites need a little attention (tile coming off in the steam room for example) and service is horrendous. Be pushy with staff they are friendly but very slow!
Be aware the bar prices are very high
Parking, nice and warm, bath.
As above and the room was tired, carpet rucked up, windows didn't close properly, old furnishings. Pillows uncomfy.
First visit was over 40 years ago.....it was fab then & still is.
Just a trivial matter but the room I had could do with a more modern TV....no freeview.
Room service was good. Very pleasant staff.
Room very, very cold even with the small radiator on.
Food in the restaurant was good.
Service was poor. One night we waited ages to leave the dinning room, no staff there at all so we just went back to our room. It was freezing in the dinning room and the hotel was " grubby".
Stayed there many years ago, was and still is a lovely building, staff seem ok.
Don't think it's run as good now, maintenance, needs updating, carpet was disgusting, and floor tiles in bathroom not grouted properly, looks like somebody has tried to use wall tile grout. And telly needs updating.
- poor bar food - expensive bar food for the quality. - rooms very dated
I loved the greeting and politeness and how helpful the members of Staff were, the room was amazing and the bed was so comfortable it was the best nights sleep I've had in ages. I've got a little boy who is 3 and dosent sleep well at nights and I'm always up with him during the nights with him so I don't get much sleep but that night I had at selsdon park hotel was amazing I loved every minute there I didn't wanna go home,
There was nothing I didn't like I loved it
The toilet was broken TV remote had no numbers on it. The room covered in dust it's the worst place iv stayed in I could hear the person in the next room going toilet not value for the money at all
absolutely great i want to come again i am playing golf and also swimming pool saunas nice for everything
the hotel as a whole.the staff at reception were good the food was nice except my lamb was over cooked and we had to wait 30mins at least for our bottle of red wine.when it came it was left on table it was not poured for us to try which is unexceptable for a hotel of 4* hotel. there was also a problem with people fighting outside our room.then again it carried on outside in carpark which went on for a long time. then the room phone rang and the staff told me id orderd water.i told him we was trying to sleep but he again said we had orderd room service.unexceptable service. so overall we paid for a night in a good hotel and we may aswell have gone to a travelodge.
Lovely old historical main part of hotel.
Poor attention to guests from staff. Bar left unattended for unacceptable period of time when guests waiting for service, due to fact that only member if staff serving was taking drinks into other areas of hotel. Very poor quality of room service, pre made sandwiches left to dry up in fridge until ordered by guests. Soup was not available although menu indicated it was available for room service. Some items had run out which was poor especially for a Friday
The leisure centre
The service in the restuarant was poor. The sparkling wine wasn't chilled. The choice of menu was poor. The meal was not hot enough. The waiter was miserable. The breakfast in the morning was cold. My parents room was freezing,
Staff very pleasant, food in hotel good, we liked the fire works at midnight, very good golf course.
Only the room could have been a bit better!!
shambles of a breakfast service, little food, ques down the corridor, far to few staff for a full hotel, tables not cleared, appalling heating didn't work in one of the room. hotel usually fine this time awful, procession of guests to front desk getting fob off and apology's terrible
The hotel, the gardens.
The tv. It should be in a museum!
The room was freezing no heating was so cold I could not sleep
Potential to be a lovely semi rural hotel
Rooms in dire need of upgrading Breakfast ends at 9.30am. For leisure visitor too early!
Park setting, impressive building, welcoming reception and lounge area, pre-arrival communications (checking vis-à-vis Christmas lunch requirements), shower in bathroom
Plastic glasses in bathroom, musty smell on arrival, rumpled carpet in bedroom, old (tubed) TV, remote didn't work even with new battery, overflowing cistern (need to jiggle handle to prevent repeated floods)
The staff were very helpful
Poor TV channels needs up grade toilet seat was loose draw front broke shower not up to standards
