The hotel exudes a typical English atmosphere. Location is great, nice and soothing. Great view at the huge garden and golf courts. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
The room was a little poor and there was no climate control. The hotel needs a renovation at some points.
request for availability, ignored. room std, poor very tired. Breakfast, cold, toast Mch, not working, Main bar service abysmal.
building, surroundings, view from bedroom,
room was huge, clean and bed comfortable but wasnt cosy functional.
On arrival the reception area was imposing and the staff were helpful.
The rest of the hotel was tired and in need of redecoration. It was noisy I dont know if it was the shower in the room above which started about 6am and the area we overlooked was the bin area and maybe staff accommodation noisy too. We did not eat in the hotel it looked overpriced.
Needs upgrading What has happened to South Londons premier hotel. Stuck in the 80's. ? like the tv in the room.
When I asked for a different room on my second night due to noise disturbance of a fan and boiler room sound, no question was made, my stuff was moved on my return into a much better room for my second night. Very helpful night Reception desk attendant thanks.
Room LG4 I thought it was raining all night, but when I looked out in the morning it was dry. The sound that had kept me awake was bubbling water through pipes or similar couples with a very noisy fan.
the location was good for our purposes. the facilities were good.
the staff were over stretched with a wedding party making all other guests suffer. the rooms are very tired and extremely hot.
Awfull hotel... tatty carpets very old tv ancient lift.,., generally got the feeling about to close
Nice steam room..
Rooms were so far from reception. Carpets were grubby and smelly. Outside catering staff were very rude. Swimming pool had no private changing rooms. The room was dark and dinghy with dead flies everywhere..
Very friendly staff. Very comfortable room.
As such a prestigious group of hotels. The Selsdon Park Hotel is desperately in need of modernisation and a lick of paint !!!
Living in a hotel that dates back to 1600's.
Hotel room could have been cleaner. Scraps on floor that were not vacuumed up. Room still not cleaned by 3-30pm so did it myself.
I will be writing to the hotel directly. I am disgusted at the way it was managed from 30 min wait to be seated, dirty tables, items waiting to be replenished. Awful
Queued half hour to get in! Staff Not attentive. Previous diners Dirty plates not cleared from our table. Unused cups and cutlery taken from our table and used on other tables which is unhygienic. Dirty and cold plates in stacker tray next to cooked food. Poor top up of cooked food. Total lack of management supervision caused complete lack of direction of staff who were wandering around like headless chickens!
location and grounds appeared very nice. Staff even though stressed and understaffed, remained polite and friendly. Bed was confortable.
On close inspection the hotel looks very tired with worn out carpets in corridors and in our room. Did not appear to have enough staff, especially during breakfast - be prepared to queue and set your own table. Staff turning up for an evening shift were changing in the corridors - obviously getting ready for a function/wedding.
Location Free car park
Tired decor of Rooms Poor Food No Comfort Expensive bar Too Noisy Long queues for breakfast Unless you were in the wedding party you felt you were an inconvenient Poor value for money
Room needed maintance, socket hanging from wall, head board fell of wall. No answer on ro service . When got through to reception for room service the food we prefers was wrong on two items. When they re delivered food for the second time the good was cold. Poor poor poor!!!
Breakfast very poor Too crowded with guests Felt like a cheap all inclusive abroad....only difference no coloured wrist band and English spoken Not enough staff to address complaints Building very tied from inside Wedding parties galore so no parking available for hotel guests Shocking rubbish breakfast buffet and very long waiting times for table
We upgraded to a superior room and the bed was divine.
Our original room was tiny, dark, and the window was right next to the service goods entrance so we had to pay for an upgrade because we weren't happy. The TVs are historic and very poor quality. The decor is dated and a bit cheap. We had hair in our bathroom. The downstairs bar was very basic and dull and expensive.
SLOW SERVICE DRAUGHT LAGER CLOUDY
Spectacular looking building, grounds and views. Food quality was good. Beds were comfortable. Shower was amazing!
Service was particularly poor. It was slow and unapologetic. My 3 year old's milk order never arrived because the bar staff were "too busy"! The hotel appeared to be understaffed throughout our stay and staff did not seem trained to offer a good customer service experience. While an adjustment was made to our final bill as a result of our service complaints, we'd rather have had a smoother experience.
The building was beautiful and the grounds.
The staff was rude, to get to the hotel from the airport (LHR) was not easy. They have a shuttle but you have to be at the hotel to use, it only goes 2 miles to the bus station. The rooms whave no screens in the them we awoke to large black crows in our room fighting over some biscuits we had.
Inadequate reception desk
Had been staying at selsdon park for two weeks on our third week was told we had to go to the jurys inn because more people had just turnd up for an event than had booked!!!!!! Had to leave our van there and get a taxi into the town centre every night after work then get taxi to pick van up every morning as there is no parking at the jurys inn for vans never again!!! On the pluss side the jurys inn was a far better hotel!!!!!
