Excellent location with excellent views over golf course and countryside. Owls calling at night were a delight.
This is a tired, old world place. Main focus is on conferences and weddings. Cleaning staff were under a lot of pressure.
Fabulous grounds and surroundings. Efficient & welcoming staff.
Decor distinctly faded. Needs reinvestment. Main restaurant is a bit pricey with no decent alternatives within walking distance. The place really does deserve to be given a make-over.
The swimming pool was lovely and relaxing. The grounds were beautiful. The location was good. The hotel building was beautiful.
The rooms were a little dated, but did the job.
Nothing in particular
Size of Hotel Atrocious booking system Lack of civility from staff - couldn't care less attitude. Refused food at bar when it was clearly within service time
Location and ease of getting to where we needed to be
Reception very slow and at times would say under Staffed
Nice room in nice setting. V comfortable
food was good and the grounds were lovely.
The hotel needs a refurbishment it is very run down but you can see it was at one time a lovely hotel.
terrible nights sleep due to paper thin walls
The leisure facilities are free for customers staying at the hotel and this includes a sauna, steam room jacuzzi and swimming pool. There's also indoor tennis and a gym. I mean the hotel was beautiful all in a manor house setting. I absolutely loved it.
Friendly staff, beautiful building, lovely landscaped and manicured grounds, handy location
The hotel exudes a typical English atmosphere. Location is great, nice and soothing. Great view at the huge garden and golf courts. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
The room was a little poor and there was no climate control. The hotel needs a renovation at some points.
request for availability, ignored. room std, poor very tired. Breakfast, cold, toast Mch, not working, Main bar service abysmal.
building, surroundings, view from bedroom,
room was huge, clean and bed comfortable but wasnt cosy functional.
On arrival the reception area was imposing and the staff were helpful.
The rest of the hotel was tired and in need of redecoration. It was noisy I dont know if it was the shower in the room above which started about 6am and the area we overlooked was the bin area and maybe staff accommodation noisy too. We did not eat in the hotel it looked overpriced.
Needs upgrading What has happened to South Londons premier hotel. Stuck in the 80's. ? like the tv in the room.
Needs a re-dec. shower was faulty. Not a stand in and had to hold the head. Cleaner didn't knock just waided in at 09:00 !!! I was still asleep. Breakfast was extremely expensive for a buffet. Not a very good buffet.
When I asked for a different room on my second night due to noise disturbance of a fan and boiler room sound, no question was made, my stuff was moved on my return into a much better room for my second night. Very helpful night Reception desk attendant thanks.
Room LG4 I thought it was raining all night, but when I looked out in the morning it was dry. The sound that had kept me awake was bubbling water through pipes or similar couples with a very noisy fan.
the location was good for our purposes. the facilities were good.
the staff were over stretched with a wedding party making all other guests suffer. the rooms are very tired and extremely hot.
There was a mix up of one of our suitcases. It had been put in the holding room whilst we used the leisure facility but was handed to another guest when they checked out. There were personal hygiene products in our case that we needed and were told by a member of your reception staff that I can pay for them in the ladies toilet. I found this very unacceptable as it was through no fault of mine that our suitcase had been handed to another guest without asking for or checking any tickets that were given out.
Location. Ease of free parking. Liesure facilities. Friendly staff, eager to please.
I last stayed at this hotel about 10 years ago when it was a 'Quality Establishment'. It obviously has new owners since then, who are focusing on a 'different section of the market'. I had to queue to check in. Staff were polite, friendly, but obviously under manned. Room was not particularly comfortable, tired but passable. No milk for the tea and coffee. Bar prices for drink's and food were eye wateringly expensive. Single bar person was rushed off her feet, manning the bar and doing room service. The owners of this hotel are obviously 'resting on it's Laurels' from a bygone era, and have cut their most expenditure, staff wages. The standby car park was full of contractors Van's using it as a base for overnight stays. This hotel is now mainly a wedding venue, at which I'm sure it excel'S....and a Golf Course. Came home early, had to queue to check out....to be told I had to settle my restaurant bill, £112.00p....I Had not used the restaurant during my stay...the bar food was expensive enough, for which I paid cash. Will not be going back.
Alberto the man with the hoover stopped and showed me to my room as I was very lost and going around in circles and he also carried my bag
The receptionist told me my room was a long way but made no offer to help me. I got quite lost as the instructions were relaid rapidly as a result I missed my turning as the sign was quite hidden , at the end of a long day at work with the bags I just wanted to get to my room whereupon thankfully a very kind young man stopped hoovering on seeing me pass him for the second time in 5 mins and delivered me and my baggage personally
Awfull hotel... tatty carpets very old tv ancient lift.,., generally got the feeling about to close
Nice steam room..
Rooms were so far from reception. Carpets were grubby and smelly. Outside catering staff were very rude. Swimming pool had no private changing rooms. The room was dark and dinghy with dead flies everywhere..
Very friendly staff. Very comfortable room.
As such a prestigious group of hotels. The Selsdon Park Hotel is desperately in need of modernisation and a lick of paint !!!
