Very good,
Score from 159 reviews
“ We were using Wrexham as a stopover on our journey to the ferry for which the hotel worked excellently. Very good value and with very friendly and efficient staff. Whole hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere. Excellent restaurant - we had a really lovely dinner there. Nice old building within easy walking distance of town. ”

Friendly and efficient. Food was very good and despite having to move rooms three times it was all very easy and with desire to resolve. Staff excellent. Rooms good but one or two details could improve. Had three room changes but as resolved eventually not such a major issue.

Staff very friendly at check in Not being able to get in after coming back from pub as door had been bolted! One of the guests came down and let me in, in her pyjamas! (Thanks, whoever you were!)

Second room was warm and dry The first room we were offered was damp and the bathroom toilet smell was permeating the room. The man at the desk was very helpful and did swap rooms but it was over the bar area and the tv connection was unreliable, Then there was very little choice for vegetarian breakfast next morning

We were greeted by having the door opened for us by Sam who was very welcoming and helpful. We checked in and were shown to our room which was small but clean and comfortable. There was a problem in that there was no TV in the room and Sam sorted this out with minimal fuss and great efficiency. We had a drink in the bar before heading into the town which was only a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order. We would certainly stay here again as it was had a warm and friendly atmosphere with wonderful friendly staff especially Sam!! Nothing

Good location for business and leisure . Comfortable room though the décor was a little tired. No phone in room or soap toiletries for shower. Shower and toilet could do with upgrading as toilet had a slow refill taking ages and noisy. Overall the hotel was good value for money where staff were friendly and good food in hotel . See above .

The location was good, the room was adequate, small but clean and fresh. The ambiance in the Restaurant and bar was good and the menu comprehensive. There was no heating at all in the en-suite shower room. The food in the restaurant was pretty good but a little over priced and we were not able to have a couple of original choices on the menu as they had run out at lunch time!!

The staff were very friendly. Internet available in room. Comfy bed. Nice breakfast. Good price better value than a travelodge. Dining room and bedroom cold (although it was freezing outside). Ensuite bathroom cramped in size. Evening meal quite expensive.

Efficient service, plenty of breakfast Fiddling push in/out plug (didnt work), noisy restaurant music beneath room till 1115pm then someone periodically walking across wooden floor in hard shoes for most of night. Room & bathroom fittings need maintenance. Food was good but overpriced. Was initially overcharged for my room and had to show my email receipt from booking.com before corrected. Staff blamed problem with booking.com.

My room was very well-appointed and the owners are obviously working hard towards making this a boutique hotel. It was comfortable, warm and well-equipped. Some parts of the residential part of the hotel are not up to the same standard, although the downstairs bar and restaurant are of a very high standard. The food was also excellent and I enjoyed a delicious evening meal and breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again. My experience was all positive.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was impressive in appearance and food quality. Evening meal and breakfast were spot on. The quality of the room lets the whole experience down. Room was clean but very tired in appearance.
