Modern, clean, friendly, great food and location
Noisy front room by road all night long, wifi was very weak.
For one night's stay with an exorbitant cost of 110 quid, I'd expect the room to have been bigger, brighter and much more spacious. Walk into the room and it ends before it even begins. With the double bed in the middle, there's hardly enough walking space and the decor made the room look dingy. It is definitely not value for money. I have been to some lovely inns which cost way less and look much more welcoming. In terms of the complimentary breakfast, there were very few options in itself. The place is in some serious need of some redecoration and the walls are unbelievably thin. From inside the room, one can hear people walking on the stairway ... The photos displayed on the site and the actual place are completely different. Not a happy customer at all!!!
The Rooms were very dated shower in the room no real bathroom for that price i would expect at least a bathroom
..for the price I have paid, I did not like: - size of the room - old furnitures in both room and bathroom - windows frames are far too old - not isolated from noises - not possible to cool it when it is too warm outside
Nice location near the railway station.
The character of the hotel gave you a cosy feeling. The room we were allocated, although not big, was beautifully decorated with swags at the windows and above the bed. The hotel is so central to everything, that once you parked the car everything was within walking distance.
Only having 5 parking spaces. We were lucky in that we had to park around the corner for the first night, but we were able to park in front of the hotel for the remainder of our stay.
Location is great. It is within walking distance of the heart of the city and University. Clean, comfortable bed. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
It is an older building and rooms could use some updating. No air conditioning. Generally not needed in Cambridge, but it was hot when I visited. It is expensive for what you get, but that is true for everything in Cambridge.
The Bed The room size
It was excellent value for money considering the central location, bars, shopping, punting and sightseeing are all within 5-10 mins walk
rooms are a bit dated but still clean and well equipped
Amenities in the room are good. Air conditioning
Staff were not very friendly when asked what to see around cambridge. Rooms are small and bed not too comfortable.
Good location. I was traveling solo and my single room though small, was very comfortable.
I had help with heavy luggage when I arrived but not when I left. I did not need a cab luckily because there was no offer to get one for me.
I liked the bed, it was very comfortable and big. Very nice bathroom. Bathroom and bedroom did not smell at all compared to kitchen with living room.
As our room was almost an apartment with kitchen and small living/dining room I'd like to say that the smell in the kitchen and living room was terrible even if we always kept our windows open. The breakfast of the hotel was not good.
Position - not too far from colleges, shops, station and buses. Friendly staff - particularly the waitress at breakfast who made the effort to find out who we were as she was concerned about our parking permit. Quiet room with AIR CONDITIONING!!! Good value.
Fixtures and fittings a little bit tired. Limited parking availability
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was good. Nice breakfast.
My room had no air-con or outside window. The only window opened into the conservatory where other guests were eating breakfast. This meant that the room was stiflingly hot and stuffy. I had no idea what the weather was like until I got outside the hotel.
Easy walk to town Clean Road parking nearby Night porter Good facilities
Location between the train station and centre was excellent and both walking distance.
Breakfast finished at 9 which we felt was a little early. Walls between rooms were thin!
We stayed for one night. The room was excelent. All was perfect. We decided to stay here for one night more. We were suggested to change room.
As result, new room was underground, Wi-Fi didn't work, the bed was placed just before the door...
Aircon both efficient and - amazingly - quiet
Tea making tray not topped up - had to ask for milk two days running.
Lovely traditional welcoming entrance, night porter attended very quickly despite us arrive after midnight, room was amazing for the price and breakfast was very good. Parking aside this was a wonderful place to stay, 10 min walk to the punt station on the cam and town, highly recommended.
The steep steps down to the room would have caused an elderly person issues, something which should have been mentioned before hand. We had been told there was limited parking onsite or a parking permit should the spaces be full, however the parking permits had all gone as had the onsite parking resulting in me having to get up early to put a ticket on the car, fortunately the onsite spaces freed up before we went into town, otherwise the parking fees would have been very high at 50p per 10 mins!
Good location, spotless and a nice atmosphere. Plus great value for money with a nice little bar / restaurant next door. Breakfast staff very friendly serving a great cooked breakfast. Highly recommended
Breakfast was excellent.
Road noise at the front of hotel. Very limited parking (5 spaces for whole hotel). Over priced for a 3 star.
I never fill out these surveys but I had to for this hotel. No airconditioning in the rooms at the front - this is despite air-con being advertised on the website. I specifically booked for aircon in the middle of a heatwave. rooms tiny. not v comfortable, pillows v old + flat. would not recommend. Website photos are even more deceptive than normal! Only booked it as on special offer - cannot imagine paying full price for this. Never again.
staff was excellent, family run business who welcomed you as their guests! excellent location.
Air con in room, location to city centre (Very close)
Very cramped room (Double) with dated decor, not a lot of parking
A few minutes walk from town centre
