Rooms (one double executive and single executive) were nicely decorated and beds comfortable. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate available as well as complimentary water in rooms. Allowed early check in as we were going to a wedding. Quiet hotel situated in a good location.
Lovely place and staff and location. Minus--very steep stairs and rooms not very soundproof.
Location breakfast parking
For a boutique it was a bit chintzy
Parking was indicated as being available. In practice there is room for 5 small vehicles with parking 200 yards away in residential area. Inconvenient and insecure. Our vehicle was scratched by apparent wilful damage.
The room was good, staff helpful, spa excellent. Breakfast very good. The only thing was we had to be at breakfast by 9 thur/Fri/sat. Which 9.30 would have been better. Enjoyable stay, but quite expensive. £150 a night.
9am the latest time for breakfast.
The staff were very welcoming and professional. Room was clean, warm, and had good wardrobe space, great TV and some cute furnishing touches. Lots of choice at breakfast in a nice dining room. The outside of the hotel looks fantastic, and the spa services appeared good but I didn't get a chance to try any.
The shower wasn't with the toilet in the ensuite section, it was IN the bedroom! The room needed a bit of care - looks 'shabby chic' from a distance, but actually the wallpaper was pealing off at the edges etc. Window wouldn't fully shut. The croissant was stale at breakfast.
The hotel was really cute and had a nice charm. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and there was a lot of choice. The location is just a short walk from the main centre and the place is very beautiful to visit.
The room was very cold and one of the beds was a bit broken. Some of the furniture needs updating. Spa information is not so clear too
En-suite shower very poor
No free wifi, without giving my personal details to a 3rd party. I want to log on, without hassle and without giving my personal details.
The staff make this hotel, a warm and friendly welcome and nothing too much trouble for them. Only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Cambridge so an excellent location and great value for money. I would certainly stay there again.
The only minor problem is that parking is limited and not much off street parking in the area.
The location . Pleasant walk into city centre
Being in a basement room
Location - quiet room and nice staff
Bedroom quite small - but cosy!
Clean and comfortable. Friendly and efficient staff.
This family run hotel was the most welcoming hotel that I have ever stayed in. The staff were so softly spoken and more that eager to please and accommodate. The hotel had a very calm and pleasant atmosphere which after a busy and hectic day, was very much appreciated. A huge thank you to the hotel and staff, will most definately stay there again, hopefully many times more to come.
lovely and warm despite it being freezing outside, nice to get bottled water and hot chocolate. great breakfast with a real choice of lovely continental or full English.
parking is a pain unless you are lucky and get one of the 5 spaces. but coming by train would mean that wasn't an issue.
The staff here are friendly and the breakfasts a little out of the ordinary. We were pleased to get a free room upgrade on arrival.
Although we were visiting in early December, and it was very cold outside, the room seemed oppressively stuffy. Unfortunately, our room overlooked the road and with the window open there was a lot of traffic noise even in the middle of the night.
Efficiency, tidiness, cleanliness, location, charm of breakfast room staff.
Bed was little lumpy and room was a bit hot but not terribly so on either count.
Good breakfast, friendly staff, good location.
Decor in the room was a bit tired, drafty window, lack of parking, no lift.
Have stayed here for business a number of times, always great
ambience of hotel shower
it was a bit cold - very cold weekend! So i wore more clothes!
The spa is a fabulous experience and completely unexpected if you go by the hotels standards. The girls in the spa are great at their job too ... Completely relaxed, with tea and cake too !
Hotel staff weren't overly informed or helpful ... They weren't rude or unhelpful, just not up to speed. Breakfast was disappapointing
Nice little touches. Slippers and a nice choccie on each pillow. Definitely going back.
Breakfast! Also responsiveneess and courtesy of reception staff.
Comfortable bed in a very small room. Staff friendly enough.
Disappointing breakfast - don't bother if you're a vegetarian. Everywhere was far too hot. Decor dated.
Lovely room with stylish decor and furniture. Quality bathroom. Great breakfast with pleasant staff.
Room was very warm on a mild November night.
