Location and setting were good. Building was very nice and modern. Room was a good size I booked for 2 and we only had one of everything in the room. The sash window would not fasten properly and we had to stick a magazine to make sure it did not rattle all night. This was all relayed to the staff the following morning and they were very apologetic.

Easy to find, plenty of parking, attractive building. Receptionist was chatty & friendly, apologised for the room & quality of food. Dining experience was dreadful and not worth the ridiculous price. Limited and inaccurate set menu, no a la carte option with 7.50 suppliments on an already overpriced menu which I would class as average pub-grade food. Bathroom was dirty & mouldy, tea/coffee spoon was left used from previous occupant, pushed together single beds moved apart throughout the night - metal bar to hold them was broken, sharp & cut my heel when I sat on the end of the bed. No hot water from the sink.

When we arrived and went to our room to our surprise it wasnt ready, bed was messed up and towels were all over the floor in the bathroom. Anither room we stayed in had no light in the hall way, plus the noise from the wedding from downstairs just not acceptable! And you should think of changing the breakfast prices, the most expensive bowl of weetabix in my life.

The old building was lovely to look at, The dining experience both in the evening and for breakfast was very good, the food was great as too was the service. The location was the main reason for booking as there were a couple of places of interest we wanted to visit over our weekend. The only thing we did not like was the fact that there was a christmas function going on and we were put into the room right next to the function room and entrance doors where a smoking ashtray was placed, a complaint was made in the morning and the manager was more than satisfactory in dealing with our complaint

Large, comfortable room with easy access to the gym and swimming pool Friendly and helpful staff The food was of a very high standard and the evening meals are highly recommended a nice retreat for a weekend 'getaway' The layout of the hotel can be confusing - going from the old part to the new part - perhaps more signs would be helpful

The room was well furnished and very comfortable with plenty of hanging space and good facilities. The handle on the wall, which also conveniently held the soap, made it very easy to use the bath. The shower and taps in the bath looked wonderful but you needed a degree to figure out how they worked. I had to leave the water in the bath! Attention to detail could have been better as the window handle did not fit and the stay at the bottom had nothing to hook onto and so the window rattled in the wind. The noise of party revellers returning to their rooms went on until two in the morning. This did not worry me unduly but be warned if you stay between Friday and Sunday.

The staff were great. I would highly recommend the food. Room was a bit small and no mini bar in the room. We felt that the hotel lacked atmosphere,

The Staff at the hotel were AMAZINGLY warm and helpful!! The location was also just perfect! Loved the free wifi and the great breakfasts! The rooms were tiny. There was very little cupboard space and no drawers. There wasn't even space for a fridge. We had a room opposite the pub and the bathroom window allowed in so much noise.

Its location and the good gym next door. It was appalling service, so noisy with misbehaving groups it was not possible to get sleep, bar and restaurant service was awful. Room was poorly maintained with neither sink nor electrics properly working. Wi fi is only to certain rooms, ours was not included. An awful experience.

The health club facilities and the old area of the building It was not explained that a large area of the hotel is like a modern'Travelodge'. The room allocation on arrive did not match the internet booking and therefore my partner and I did not get to stay in the luxuious room as booked. Instead the other members of our party did. Once we realised we were in the cheap room it was to rude to instead on swapping rooms and making our guest feel uncomfortable. Our cheap room did not have any coffee and was only set up with one set of towels. I phoned reception straight away but some hours later the request had not arrived. We mentioned it again at reception on our way to dinner but the towels did not arrive till a knock on our door at midnight.

I loved the lovely big room and bathroom. There were also lots of little extras such as bottled water and comfortable cushions on the bed. The only thing that I did not like was the slowness of check in. Quite a few of the rooms were not ready.

Convenience of location. Room was very spacious and pleasant. Gardens were lovely to enjoy for walks. Room service breakfast was very good if a little cool. Rate was excellent for quality of room and hotel. Reception area was a little small and check in queues developed quite quickly. This was a very busy day/night with two wedding parties, but reception had just one person. You may want to plan your coverage for "big" days a little better.
