“ Our stay was fabulous. Staff were extremely helpful, food was excellent and the location was to die for. Room was lovely, clean and homely. Exceeded our expectations. Would return tomorrow if we had the chance. Would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling to the highlands of Scotland. ”

Friendly staff [Lindsay, the young lady who attended to us for most of our stay was brilliant and deserves a medal.] Beautiful location for car touring the west coast etc. Hotel could do with a little TLC and maybe staff need more help at times but nothing to spoil our stay at all.

The location next to Loch Lochy was stunning. Hotel feels tired and in need of updating. Staff appeared mainly indifferent. The young girl in the restaurant at dinner and the following day at breakfast could not do enough to help. The food was poor. Greasy spoon comes to mind. Even ruined scrambled eggs at breakfast. The remainder of the staff appeared to be indifferent. On arrival there was some confusion about our booking as we had booked two nights on separate bookings. The duty manager said "it wasn't his problem and the directors would sort it out the next day" . No one could advise us what was happening until 10 the next day so we were unable to go walking as early as intended . Also no wifi to try and book elsewhere if unable to stay. Made our break more stressful than we would have liked. Room described as superior with a mountain view was freezing, no heat in the bathroom (-6 outside) and the view was the car park and the bottom of the hill! We were however given a reduced rate after commenting on this at check out.

The staff is excellent. The view froThe staff is excellent. The view from the hotel to Loch Lochy is amazing. Room was spacious and clean. Hotel is perfect for a short stay after a trip. Would not recommend it if this is for a week stay or you should use it as a place to get back to. Can not think of anything.

The staff from when you walk in the door, to the waitresses at dinner, to the barman with some friendly tips about what to see in the area just made the stay lovely. We stayed there on Christmas Eve and they had a guitar singer too which was really good over dinner. Their food prices are really good too and the restaurant looks out onto the most amazing mountains you will see. Any doubts, go to google streetview and have a look for yourself! Hard to fault to be honest, good value for money and a breathtaking view.

I liked the situation (on a loch) and the great view. I also liked the coziness of the interior (open fire, wood etc). I didn't like the room. It was overpriced for the comfort we got. The beds were not very comfortable, and the first room even smelled not very nicely. I also had to pay an extra if I wanted a latte for my breakfast!

Amazing location and loved our stay, we even considered this as a place we would get married in the future. Stunning views every morning if you get a room that over looks the loch. The food in the restaurant if perfection on a plate and always something different to try on the specials board. For the price you would expect a decent shower - but no - burning hot or low power unfortunatly! Also they charged for extra drinks on the final bill - didn't twig until we set off. Sneeky!haha But would still highly recommend this hotel.

Made very welcome by helpful friendly team. A relaxed and easy stay. Lighting a little dull in the common rooms made it difficult to read a paper.

This hotel is set in an amazing location, rooms are lovely and staff really friendly. Breakfast was superb quality and lots of it! The food in the evening was overpriced and did not think was great quality. iIalso had to pay £25 for my ten year old daughter which to be honest I thought was a bit much, particularly when i had stated we wanted her in same room on the booking form and on booking.com it said no charge. Was told normal rooms would not be big enough to put another bed in, so moved us to a family room(which was lovely) but i had not planned to pay above for my daughter

We found the manager very friendly and helpful as we're most of the staff. The personal touch of being shown around the hotel and to our rooms was a nice touch. The dinner we had in the main restaurant was excellent and the views and scenery were stunning. A beautiful location. Our main dislikes were with the bathrooms in both our room and my inlaws room. We both found the temperature of the heated towel rails far too hot and a danger to children. We stayed in a family room but the towel rail was too small to accommodate everyone's towels. My inlaws found the bath with shower over it slightly difficult to get in and out of as it had high sides. A hand rail would be helpful for older people.

Staff were friendly and effective. Location was good. Food was good and well presented. Comfortable and relaxing (although not very warm) lounge area. Paid extra for a superior room which was no better than any other room. Small things let it down. The view was said to be a factor in determining the superiority of the room but although a small window looked out over the loch the view was restricted by the extension roof, and the size and location of the window. The biggest problem however was that there was not enough hot water to provide even a slightly warm shower. Despite bringing this to attention after the first night and a reassurance that it would be sorted it never was. This was not a value for money stay

Location was perfect and far enough out of Fort William to enjoy the peace and quiet. The dinner in the evening was excellent and good . value for money. It needs a little updating. The en-suite balthroom in our room was like somethink out of the Ark with a shower I have not seen the likes of. This might appeal to some people as quaint, but my wife and I did not. Power/Electric shower would also have been welcome.

The views and the Lodge's location right on Loch Lochy were excellent, as was the wood pannelling inside the hotel. Our room looked right out over the Loch which was lovely. Given that the views were the most important part of our stay the fact that we kinda had to fight for a table at Dinner where both of us could see the views was upsetting - they have some of the tables turned the wrong way in the Dinningroom - which could easily be fixed - I.E., one of you has to sit with your back to the view. Our waitress seemed reluctant to clear a 'good table' for us - and this happened again next morning at Breakfast when we gave in and just sat at one of the inner tables where you both can't see the view. I ended up turning a chair around myself to be able to see out. The bedroom was clean, but could do with new curtains - they were very worn - the colours were very dark too - dark brown - it's not a luxury Hotel. This was our 30th Wedding Anniversary - we'd stayed at the Hotel all those years ago on our Honeymoon and had very very fond memories of the owner who went out of his way to make our stay special - I'd asked that they make the visit special thistime, pointing out it was our Pearl Anniversary, but no note of this had been kept to the fore and no one was interested. I don't think we will go back - the table thing in the Dining Room really annoyed me - plus my husband's dinner - Steak and Ale pie - was very dry - although the rest of the food was good at Dinner. Breakfast was also disappointing - poached eggs over-cooked when I'd asked for them to be soft and the bread for the toast was too thin and tasteless. The total bill also seemed quite expensive.
