On the beach front, the 2-star Chequers Plaza Hotel looks out over Queen’s Promenade to the Irish Sea. It offers free Wi-Fi, free limited parking and excellent full English breakfasts.

Score from 1611 reviews Very good
The location is perfect. Hosts very welcoming. And since it's so cheap. It's 100% worth the money. Breakfast was excellent.
The only fault was noisy guests but you can't blame the hotel for that so no problems.
The breakfast was lovely, no pastries, which was a shame, but the member of staff serving the breakfast was very helpful and they were flexible with meeting our requirements.
Parking very tight so we had to hand our keys in so that staff could move our car if necessary...strange and awkward when we wanted to go out! Our room was very dated. The corridors were awful, fire doors propped open with fire extinguishers! Bed very uncomfortable, although well made, the pillow on our bed was chopped up foam filling! the bathroom ceiling had broken plastic ceiling tiles and they made a noise everytime we closed or opened the door, there was also a view through them of electrics. The childrens room looked comfortable and the children slept well. The bar staff were very friendly, slightly odd that when they ran out of lager they went to sainsburys, bought some and charged four times the price they paid!
Enjoyed the hotel very much. We stayed there as my daughter was ballroom dancing in Blackpool. Would certainly stay there again unfortunately we left each morning early so missed breakfast, but on day we came home lovely lady asked if we would like a full English. Which was lovely.
Nice welcome warm and friendly staff clean and comfortable lovely breakfast
Was told we had got the upgraded room with sea view & red carpet but when we arrived was put in the heavens (attic) with old carpet & the lift was on the other side of the hotel.
Rooms wallpaper peeling off small bathroom hallway Un cleaned rubs from night before left out.
Friendly staff, clean room
Poor WiFi reception on 3rd floor. Breakfast started at 9am so never got to try it
The breakfast,that's it!!!!
Wallpaper hanging off the walls,in need of a good refurbishment,a bit scruffy.would not even go there again.very dissapointed.
the friendliness of staff and the good food. We had an excellent dinner on one night of our stay. Would definitely stay again

noise from bar/carpark(blocked in all week)/no welcome or goodbye from owner entertainment ok if you like drag acts or bingo.
Friendly staff in the main
Size of room poor en suite cracked tiles in general en suite in very poor condition
Staff were friendly, breakfast very good, the bed linen and towels clean. They had Wifi
The bedrooms are far to small. We travelled with friends. We both had a double room but the size was more like a single room.
for the amount paid it seemed value for money and the breakfast was excellent
room was rather small and very noisy late at night from other guests
Such a nice place Friendly staff always helpful nothing was to much for us Lovely view Great breakfast
What we wanted was a relaxing break, we found the staff very friendly and helpful, entertainment was excellent,
No wi fi connection on the higher floors,
HAD A GREAT WEEK .FOOD GREAT VERY CLEAN .EVENING ENTERTAINMENT EXCELLENT. WILL COME AGAIN
DISAPPOINTED THAT WE ONLY HAD ONE WEEK
We have really enjoyed our stay the staff was very friendly and helpful the hotel very clean breakfast very nice overall an excellent stay!!!!!! I will highly recommend it!!
Food is very good. Rooms are very clean, we had a family and double which was adjusted to be next to each other. Staff are helpful. We had good advice to use day tickets for tram and bus, bought from nearby shop which saved traffic jams and parking in main centre. Blackpool lights start just outside the hotel. We would use this hotel again and have recommend to my friends.
2014 the wi fi works best nearer the ground floor.
For the price paid, the room was really big with a lovely sea view, tv, kettle and a really comfortable bed.
we was put on the top floor the lift didn/t go that high but most of all there was no hot water to the shower they said they had looked into it and it was ok let me tell you it never got warm it was freezing !!!!!!!!!
Room very shabby could not provide breakfast before 9am.
Very welcoming. Sorted problems out straight away. Very clean and tidy :-)
