L'Horizon Hotel & Spa  

We have been going to L'Horizon on short business trips for many, many years and feel the overall standard is good. The reception staff, room maids are extremely helpful, polite and cheerful. However, the staff in the dining room, both at breakfast and evening are all the opposites of the above, and this 'surliness' was more in evidence this year than others.

My visit to the hotel was forced upon me as I had to stay an extra three nights due to the ferries being cancelled for bad weather. Kelly at Reception could not have been more helpful as I needed to extend my original one night booking to three nights. She made sure I could keep the same room even on a Friday night. All staff at reception were helpful and friendly. Room service was very good. The Crystal Room restaurant provided a good meal and the breakfast was fine. The Spa is excellent with a proper sized indoor pool and a well laid out set up. The location is excellent and there is plenty of car parking. The cleaning of the rooms was good with the cleaning supervisor properly checking over the cleaning.

A minor comment is that the corridors between the rooms are quite narrow and poorly lit. I would suggest improving the lighting with motion sensitive switches so that it is easier to see where one is walking.

Freindly staff, good location, good breakfasts. Nice to have Sky Sports 1& 2 in the room. Loved the free tennis court.

Fantastic beachfront location, beautiful rooms and facilities, such helpful staff... Breakfast was a pleasure every morning and the view from the ocean room was to die for... Morning or evening, sunshine or rain/fog - an incredible, wonderful vista awaits from your balcony! The hotel was fairly expensive, but food/drinks all delicious, really wonderful. I will stay again, when I have a special occasion, or want some luxury!

There was a wedding fayre which made it very very busy one day (not really much of an issue) and a very Very small niggle - when I ordered breakfast through room service there always seemed to be a tiny mixup with some of the details, eg: eggs forgotten one day, another day the preserves were forgotten so I couldn't jam my toast, etc - as I said a small niggle, but I could have complained however was happy not to.

It is an excellent hotel situated along the coast, I had a beautiful view of the sea in the early morning it was tranquil. The staff were courteus and friendly. The room was a good size, pristeen clean with a feel of luxury to it.

The location was excellent and only 6/7 minute taxi ride from Jersey airport. The reception staff were very helpful and upgraded my room upon arrival to an ocean sea view which was beautiful. The english breakfast was delivered on time and was delicious and upon check out, the hotel staff booked a taxi for us to take us to the airport which arrived in minutes. Brilliant weekend and stay at L'Horizon.

Being left alone

No welcome gift or bottle in room apart from water in the fridge. Bathroom in my Delux room despite being clean, was old and in need of renovation/replacement. Not worth the cost in comparison with other hotels on the island who generally offer I thought the standards in the restaurant for a 4star hotel were poor eg, breakfast - salt/pepper pots were dirty, sugar shaker has greasy fingermarks, tea pot was dirty. Bar staff did not pour drinks - eg beer was delivered with a galss and left for me to pour - not what I expect. despite bveing informed that there were private functions both nights I was there, I felt the standard of food offered in the Terrace was little more than I would expect to see in a poor Bistro. very disappointing for an expensive stay.

We regret using their restaurant for two evening meals which were very poor in quality, cooking and portion, certainly not expected for a 5* hotel. Also way over priced. We found the Smugglers Inn along the coast which was far superior at a fraction of the price. However the breakfast buffet was very good. I would not recommend staying at this hotel because its nightly rate of £350 is not worth it.

Adult only sessions in pool
