excellent location in the groovy Hove End of Brighton (or was it the Brighton end of Hove, actually? ;), there's plenty going on around there and the sea is just down the road, yet it was quiet enough. It's a gorgeous old house. We had a great top floor room with an old bay window and fantastic views over the roofs to the sea. Bathroom could have been a bit bigger! |

Nothing. It was very very lousy with zero service as we did not see any staff on site at all to assist us with check in and issues with room. All we got was a phone to reception and receptionist was murmuring throughout and very unhelpful. Water heater was so hot that it burned our skin and room heater temperature control was broken, hence the room in the basement was extremely hot and stuffy. The corridor and staircase was so old and narrow, we had a hard time getting in and out with our luggage which was of standard size, not large. Breakfast was not freshly cooked as egg yoke was hard when served and fruit juice looked stale. We think Lichfield is not even 1 star and cannot understand how it got a 4 star rating which is extremely misleading. |

The staff were friendly and helpful The room was very noisy, I could hear all the neighbours including above, did not sleep very well. I also do not agree with the 4 star rating it has been giving, small room. |

Not much! The room seemed clean but we didn't stick around to find out - we ended up booking in elsewhere. It claimed to b a 4 star but the room was tiny, the walls were paper thin and there was paint chipping from the walls. Also no proper wardrobe. |

Room was of a nice size and was clean and it was in a good location. The hotel staff were no where to be seen, and charged my credit card with out my permission. It was ok because I was intending to pay with it anyway but on their part it was a bit presumptuous!! |

The hotel was nicely situated in Brighton without being in the noisy centre. The room was comfortable and the towels and chocolates were a nice touch. The breakfast room was very sunny and pleasant and breakfast was enjoyable. The shower gel in the bathroom was unusable as there was no pipe from the pump into gel. The window could not be locked. The toilet seat was unstable. The television was difficult to use. The kettle was awkward to use where it was situated. |

Located convenient to the beach. There was no one on reception during our whole 2 night stay, we had to phone them. Had to wait 2 hours to get keys to our room (we did get a discount as a result, in fairness). Shower pressure was very poor and it stopped sometimes. the rooms downstairs are to be avoided-Room 8! |

had to wait 2 hours until someone came to give us our room key. then they couldnt find a key and we had to use our room without any key for entire stay. would not stay again. very disappointing experience. we had to lock our valuables in our friends room everytime we left hotel. |

Clean, comfortable and straightforward. Friendly and professional staff. This is not really a specific complaint but the plumbing wasn't great - shower often slowed to a trickle, the wash-hand basin had little flow and the loo took several times to flush. And a pipe from the upstairs room leaked when used. But it's not exactly the first time I've encountered this. Why is all British hotel plumbing so bad? |
