Setting, esp gardens Comfy bedrooms Spa treatments Steam and salt rooms
Communal rooms and corridors were cold ...open fires unlit. Jacuzzi barely warm and soap scum on surface.
Cream tea with cream that tasted off...
cannot check in room til 3pm and out by 11 am - if you come Friday night for one night it gives you very little time to enjoy the facilities, given the price !!! I would come more often for one night to keep costs down but only if you could get there 7:30, say, pm, and have the use til 7:30 pm next day so 1 whole day instead of just prev afternoon. Otherwise would save up to stay 4 nights so you felt the experience rather than rushed.
The rooms, bed and bed linen were excellent. No body lotion in bath room. That's about all I did like!
People in the dining room in the evening in track suits and shorts. Wet chairs in the lounge from people who had had various treatments. Either it's a hotel or a spa - I have visited various spas in my time and found this very disappointing. We dined there once but otherwise went out for our meals as there was a definite lack of choice on the menu and the dining room is more canteen like than fine dining!
Rooms were generally comfortable.
Food was over-priced and the menu short on selection. The hotels social 'message' suffers from confusion due to the hotel being seemingly happy to allow many of the residents to wander around - in all areas (including the dining room..) at all times of the day, in their bath robes. For a 'non' Spa attending guest this is very un-acceptable.
Everything a complete waste if money and would never return or recommend do not go here
Room, spa facilities, staff.
Waiting nearly 30 mins for "Specials" order ( porridge, & poached eggs)
Apart from not been served in our room everything was very good.
We were told breakfast could be served in our room for a fee yet when we called for breakfast we were told they can't server hot food in the room. Which I was very very disappointed.
Spacious comfortable rooms and above average bathrooms with excellent walk in shower. Very helpful staff. Excellent pool and spa facilities Relaxing ambience
No air-conditioning and not able to open a window. Only ventilation was via french doors. Restaurant could be much cosier. Food in restaurant over priced and very average.
The swimming pool was freezing, half the seats in jacuzzi didn't work
Spa facilities superb, so great in fact that the hydrotherapy area makes it unnecessary to have any treatments. Reataurant great and very reasonable. Rooms clean and modern
fluffy robes and breakfast in your dressing gown. peaceful grounds and a sense of being miles from anywhere
free wifi very slow
Beautiful facilities in a peaceful environment. Top notch food in the restaurant.
Staff need to pay attention to detail. My friend was branded a "Mr" instead of a "Miss".
Had 2wonderful treatment
Could'nt face the pool area,it was packed solid,as was the Suns area. There was so many poeple that We felt unsafe and it all seemed a bit grubby!!!!We did not use this area. Reception. Was muddled, not given map, list of actives etc. Then we had to put our cases in a locker!!!When our room was ready we were given no assistance with our bags. Will not return, which is a shame as the two treatments we had were great.
Was a Spa rather than a hotel, but that was our fault as it does say Spa and hotel. Didn't like people sat in bathrobes in the bar of an evening or the chlorine smell from the pool in the dining area.
Rooms are a good size, food and facilities great
Peeling paint and tiredness of accomodation
Spa, grounds rooms with great view massage good bar and Restuarant staff and service good
Food very poor must get a chef
Beautiful grounds, short drive to the coast, lovely pool (I didn't use the gym) . The room was spacious and comfortable- clean and welcoming. Perfect relaxing break. I would definitely return
Nothing to dislike.
Staff were fab.. Food was fantastic.. :-)
Not enough sun beds to go round :-( I feel staff should keep taking towels off of non used beds! I think people go off for treatments & want the same beds when they return!? My sister & I at to put our dressing gown & towels on shelf..
Loved the bedroom so comfy and the bathroom was lovely too
Lifehouse is a great place to stay and treat yourself. The spa facilities are great and the location and grounds are lovely. Rooms are clean and airy, with lovely bathrooms. Next time we will try dining at one of the local pubs in town as their menus look great, all local produce to complete with Lifehouse and cheaper.
The restaurant is a tad expensive and although the food is very tasty the portions are small for the price.
Fantastically clean , excellent facilities and very helpful !
Enjoyed the gardens, courtyards and architecture. Staff very helpful and pleasant. An enjoyable evening meal in pleasant surroundings. Bed very comfortable.
Slightly wary of slipping in the shower, would be helpful to have a hand rail or/and a shower mat.
I had an great, self-indulgent stay at Lifehouse - a much needed time to relax. I enjoyed the excellent food; also the lovely extensive grounds - which I made sure I got out into every day of my stay - having brought walking boots. The staff are first class, always friendly and helpful.
The one thing I found less than helpful sometimes was the music in the restaurant, which was on occasion rather loud, and more to the point often had a rather heavy 'beat'. This may be the contemporary way, but I could have done with this. That's all!
