It was a very welcoming, homely, convenient and friendly place. Both my partner and I had a wonderful time in York, and our arrival, evening drink/chat and breakfast were a large part of that.

We liked the fact that checking into the hotel was easy and simple. The room was clean, well kept and extremely inviting. It was a very comfortable stay! We were a little cold one night so I guess the lack of operatable heating Was something we didn't like. Other than that it was great!

Family run hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Ok, the decor is getting a little tired, but that was not a problem. Room and bed were comfortable and the breakfast was superb, it kept us going all day. We would be quite happy to go back to the Limes if we wished to visit York again. It was situated on a direct bus route (No 7, every 10 minutes) to the city centre and rail station. Ideal as we were travelling to York by train.

The Limes offered a friendly family orientated atmosphere. Facilities were excellent and its location to York made for easy travel to the many sights in the region. Would recommend this hotel to any visitor to the region. The Limes used low energy light bulbs in their rooms. My wife and I have a personal dislike for these globes and this therefore was a slight detraction, for us, on the overall high standards.

The Limes is a fantastic b&b extremly easy to find, a good welcom, breakfast was magnificent. The Limes is withing walking distance of some pubs that do great evening food. We walked into york along the rver bank, it took about 30mins, we could have gone on the bus that passes the limes but would recomend the walk if the weather is good. York is a fantastic City, and realy needs 2-3 days to do it justice, it is a maze of pedestrian narrow streets full of little shops selling miriard of things, where the narrow streets let out onto large areas there are covered markets. There are many places to eat, and historice places to visit. Many thanks to The Limes for a great weekend

I loved the friendliness of the staff who made u feel welcome the second u walked through the door .The rooms were lovely and comfortable and we were well supplied with luxury toiletries and plenty tea and coffee supplies. It was a nice advantage to have a bar as u could sit and relax with a drink at the end of a busy day. The hotel was a very pleasant riverside walk away from york city centre. The breakfast at the limes was absolutely delicious and the choices were very good . We would definately return to the limes if we ever visit york again.

Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Triple room could do with a facelift, tiny ensuite. Saying that I would stay there again although I think it should be advertised as a 25 min walk into town not 10 min.

It was afamily run b&b which was very welcoming. Service from all memebers of family was fantastic. Room was warm and very clean. There was three women in the room and there was plenty of room for all our stuff even after shopping. Shower was great and nice toiletries. Breakfast was great and very filling and kept us going well into the pm. It was a wee walk into town along river( about fifteen mins) but regular buses got you there in five mins

The friendliness and warmth of our hosts, the delicious breakfasts and the fact that there was a residents' lounge with licensed bar. Noise from the main road meant that window had to be closed at night which made the room very stuffy. A fan (particularly in the summer) might be a good idea.

A really nice atmosphere and personal attention at this well-located b and B. Off street parking is good and the breakfast is excellent. A very pleasant 20 minute walk bordering the river will take you into the city centre of York and avoid the hassle of parking.
