The staff at the limes were excellent, friendly professional considerate and more. We were extended every comfort and facility requested, even down to un scheduled toast and drinks due to circumstances. the room was exellent relaxed and we were able to use the limes as a base for exploring york. this is an excellent place to stay with a real home from home welcome and feel. I cannot praise the owners of the limes enough. if we ever return to york i will be staying at the limes without a doubt. thank you so much.

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, the lady of the house was very good very helpful when we required information, the room was clean and comfortable we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again

We have just come back from York and we found the owners of The Limes to be very friendly and welcoming, very good advice on an eatery!! We highly recommend it The Plough Inn a 5 min walk from The Limes..the location was perfect 20 mins walk to York city center 3 mins on the bus, the bus stop was just a very short walk across the road..The Limes itself was very clean, a top class b & b the breakfasts were fantastic loads of choice...in all we had a lovely weekend and we'll definitively be visiting again maybe next time with the children!! P.s I wonder how many people spot who the owner is we did :) ??

Friendly, helpful family run, clean and comfortable guest house with good size rooms and all facilities required. Licensed bar was a welcome addition for evenings when we did not wish to go out. Breakfast was excellent and the dining room comfortable.

The family who run the hotel are very polite and friendly and eager to please. Nothing is to much trouble. And even tough their son with the team he played for at the time knocked Manchester United off the top spot. I can fully forgive him because of his family and gracious hospitality. 10 out of 10 without a doubt. :-)

Room was very comfortable and cosy, very clean with excellent facilities. The breakfast was well presented, very good quality and the proprietors were friendly and obliging. They kindly allowed us to use their car park during the day to avoid high car park costs in city. From the Limes there is a lovely riverside walk into city. Well recommended all round.

The family were all very friendly, even the teenaged children. They were helpful and advised us of the things we asked. The bar was a friendly lounge room and the family were willing, if necessary, to have a chat and asked if we wanted the TV on. They left some Yorkshire Magazines for residents to read. The breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely and hot. There was yoghurt, mixed fruit and cereal to have whilst we waited for cooked breakfast. A very pleasant stay. We would recommend it to friends.

Made very welcome. Excellent breakfast and as we got lost in York on arrival had to phone for directions. . Not a problem to them,very helpful. Location is fine if you enjoy a walk of approx 1 mile to the city centre, this we did along the river , both ways . We visited in March and would imagine walk will be even more enjoyable ion the summer. There is a bus stop just across road if you are not up to walking. Best to leave car at limes as parking in city centre is expensive. Would stay here again.

We liked the fact that checking into the hotel was easy and simple. The room was clean, well kept and extremely inviting. It was a very comfortable stay! We were a little cold one night so I guess the lack of operatable heating Was something we didn't like. Other than that it was great!
