The twin room was great, with plenty of space and a bay window letting in loads of light. It was also nice and cool, whereas downstairs rooms were prone to being overly warm. The breakfast and restaurant food was spot on, and it was a nice old fashioned touch when the chef came out later to speak to the diners. The staff were very friendly and polite, but somewhat over-busy and stretched at times. I would certainly stay again. Easy short walk access to the village and beach, and plenty of great walks around the coastline.
The raised aspect of the hotel offered great views, but it is a steep walk to the front door from the parking area in front. However, this is mentioned on the site so we were aware in advance. My parents had a superior double room downstairs, but considered it small, basic and somewhat dark - particularly when they saw ours upstairs, which was superb. knowing which rooms are best is a definite bonus.
Quiet location with good views Wonderful food Excellent service Good Value for money Only 5 minutes walk to the Cove.
Staff was very friendly, even offered to carry up our bags from the car. Clean room, nice size bathroom, good facilities in room, good breakfast.
Whilst this was only for one night, we were very impressed right from the start. We were welcomed by Dasha, who runs the place very professionally, and she and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable, and the location was great for a walk to the beach (a little longer than the advised five minutes, but not a route march either!). we dined in the restaurant (see separate review) and weren't disappointed. There are plans to revamp the dining room.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Evening meal was superb. Very cosy, relaxing atmosphere and we felt very welcome. I would return to this hotel even with the few snags.
Wifi didn't work in room however it was sorted while we were there. Lighting our bedroom was dim - I would of liked it a little brighter. We had a little problem with the plumbing in our room but it was sorted quicky.
Outstanding views, staff, food and service.
Car parking a bit tight
Excellent location, superb small hotel, staff very attentive and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Lovely room overlooking the countryside. Excellent choice for breakfast. 10 minute walk to Lulworth Cove, 5 minute drive to Durdle Door
The location was perfect with beautiful views across the countryside and within a ten minute walk to Lullworth Cove. There are plenty of fantastic walks in the surrounding area and many places of interest to visit including Monkey World (a must for animal rescue followers). The hotel meals were excellent, the attention to detail was faultless. and the staff could not have been more helpful. We enjoyed a wonderful few days!!
The room we stayed in was a little small.
A wonderful hotel, close to Lulworth cove, the staff were some of the most pleasant we've come across from any stay. We dined in the restaurant and made sure we booked ahead - really glad we did as the menu was really good and the food was wonderful. We'd definitely come back.
Excellent restaurant Very friendly and helpful staff
Delicious food at breakfast and dinner. Not at all the standard hotel fare. Hotel has been renovated very stylishly. Well-trained, cheerful staff. I had an accident while out walking (a bloody cut to the head). Dasha came to the rescue with kind and efficient first aid.
Our room - the Garden Suite was the only room available. Whilst it was very comfortable and attractively furnished, we felt quite exposed and very visible from the garden.
The hotel is situated in a beautiful idylic spot. A short walk from the gorgeous lulworth cove and durdle door. The staff were amazing, very attentive. And the room was very luxurious.
The only gripe we had was the bed. We would of prefered a double bed rather than two singles pushed together. Apart from that we couldnt fault it.
Honesty bar, nice touch as we sat chatting till late
No soap in the bathroom though this was swiftly and politely rectified
The hotel is situated in a very pretty village just a few minutes walk from Lullworth Cove from which there are some great coastal walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel which consists of just 8 themed rooms with a designated parking space for each. The breakfasts were everything you could wish for and the evening meal we had there was also very good. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We have never returned to the same place twice but this could be the exception.
Nothing apart from having to categorise ourselves as a mature couple for the purpose of this review!
Friendly staff and a lovely place to stay. The Limestone is the perfect place to stay for a holiday or a short break in the wonderful county of Dorset. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. I look forward to returning there one day.
Quality of food was excellent.
Had to request for fresh towels and replenishment of shower gel.
Lovely location, very friendly & helpful staff especially Mike who greeted us.the view from our room was stunning. the restaurant was small but cosy and the food was excellent, lovely breakfast.
We didn't dislike anything, there is a steep path up to the front door but it all adds to the setting.
Food in their restaurant was very good. Well worth dining their
Room was quite small
location, food, clean and very friendly, helpful staff.
just not very good wifi connection,
Comfortable room, lovely views, outstanding food, staff the most helpful and soliccitous we have ever found.
No lounge to sit in after dinner, though the weather was fine and we could sit outside. The weather was very hot, it would have been nice to be provided with a fan.
Good attentive service. Pleasant compact room. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. Restaurant for evening meal was good and the meal was well cooked. Designated parking. Excellent hotel in beautiful location.
There is a steep path up to the hotel but the staff make a point of offering to help move your luggage. This is also pointed out when you book.
Homely atmosphere, picturesque setting and lovely garden, attentive and friendly owners and staff, excellent food, nice bar. Breakfast something to look forward to. Perfect for a relaxing weekend break and a great venue for a small buffet reception (we hosted one for 40 guests - the locally sourced food was delicious). The best hotel experience I have enjoyed in England.
Location, good service and breakfast
Room was small, shabby, cluttered with unecessary objects, dark & drab decoration, very uncomfortable (old) bed & pillows. Not what we expect for £110 a night.
Friendly staff Great food Comfortable rooms
West Lulworth is beautiful and the hotel was situated in a perfection location overlooking the village with the walk to the Cove was only 10 minutes along safe footpaths. The rooms were very clean, tastefully decorated and had all the facilities you would need. The restaurant was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again.
Parking was quite restricted
