The staff at this lovely hotel were superb. Very warm and friendly and excellent hosts. The food was exceptional. Just a wonderful experience. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place.
This was a lovely little hotel We had the Garden Suite on the Bourne floor and it was warm, comfortable and cosy. In the summer there was access into the garden and you had your own little sitting out area. The food was delicious we had two dinners and two breakfasts. There was plenty of variey and was well cooked and presented. The bar area was lovely though small and the fire was lit each evening. Staff were attentive and very pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. Views from the hotel were pretty and the village is very close. A lovely stay altogether.
The parking is tight and if you struggled walking, the slope up to the hotel might be difficult. Not sure what could be done about this though as hotel perched on a hill.
Everything about the place was great!!!
Noise from room to room during the night.
Lovely hotel with a friendly atmosphere and nice staff. Good location for walking. Plenty of peace and quiet although, it was November.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. They dried our wet clothes in their drier after we were caught in torrential rain and provided an extra towel for a friend of ours who was not staying in the hotel, but needed a shower.
If you do decide to stay, be sure to make a reservation at the hotel restaurant. The food was amazing and well priced!
We were in the room above the restaurant, so it was quite noisy during the evening. This didn't particularly bother us as we just popped the telly on and that was enough to drown out the sound. Other than that I couldn't fault the hotel.
Everything : the bedroom, the cosy bar, the very good food and the amazing staff (Steven and Mike are very very nice !)
The weather : it was poring down so we could not enjoy the cove and the walk. But that's no one s fault !
what a wonderful welcome from Stephen who was our host for the night. Couldn't feel more at home with the ambiance of the hotel, my room was beautifully decorated and very cozy. Ate in the hotel restaurant, fantastic steak meal in relaxed surroundings. Attention to detail second to none. Thank you. Will be back.
Ask the staff to keep phone calls quieter in the evening please - my room was next to the staff accommodation.
The staff are totally amazing and reallyade our stay very special So attentive and made us feel really pampered. The evening meal was outstanding and it was wonderful to meet the chef afterwards. Champagne on the terrace in the early evening with pumpkins and other seasonal yet tasteful decorations was a rare treat. Lovely room and a warm welcome we would recommend it to anyone. The award winning cider pub just up the road is well worth a visit too
the staff, location, food, bar area, bedrooms
bit noisy ; dogs, strange building noises !
Warm reception, cheerful staff, excellent breakfast and evening dinner.
Difficult access and parking in the bays. Ideally the bays should be 1 meter deeper.
Clean comfortable, hotel, food very good nice location.polite, friendly helpful staff
Not keen on having dogs in the hotel and presumably kept in guest's bedrooms Room , although very nice, quite small for two people sharing. Nice bar but no lounge or comfortable chairs to relax in.Car parking spaces quite tight and a long climb up to hotel for elderly people.
Really friendly staff, lovely local food! Will definitely come back!
ambience friendliness of staff nothing too much trouble culinary side was impressive it just felt comfortable
Friendly welcome on arrival but privacy afterwards; good breakfast (how I judge hotels).
Room too warm & walls quite thin so sleep not fantastic (but solved with ear plugs; and the underfloor heating was useful for drying socks)
It's all in the title really. West Lulworth is a gorgeous village and Limestone Hotel is set in a great location overlooking the church and the wonderful thatched houses. The hotel has a nice little restaurant and bar area. The room was well maintained and clean. Beds were comfortable etc. The most outstanding aspect of the hotel, however, was the staff. Every member was friendly and helpful, and they were only too happy accommodate specific requests. A couple of people were very knowledgeable of the local area and only too happy to share directions and locations. The staff definitely turned it from a good hotel to a great one!
The water pressure in the shower fluctuated in the mornings to some extent, though I guess to a degree that's to be expected. Wifi coverage was also a bit sketchy while in our room, but don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, just a bit weaker than in other places in the hotel.
The twin room was great, with plenty of space and a bay window letting in loads of light. It was also nice and cool, whereas downstairs rooms were prone to being overly warm. The breakfast and restaurant food was spot on, and it was a nice old fashioned touch when the chef came out later to speak to the diners. The staff were very friendly and polite, but somewhat over-busy and stretched at times. I would certainly stay again. Easy short walk access to the village and beach, and plenty of great walks around the coastline.
The raised aspect of the hotel offered great views, but it is a steep walk to the front door from the parking area in front. However, this is mentioned on the site so we were aware in advance. My parents had a superior double room downstairs, but considered it small, basic and somewhat dark - particularly when they saw ours upstairs, which was superb. knowing which rooms are best is a definite bonus.
Quiet location with good views Wonderful food Excellent service Good Value for money Only 5 minutes walk to the Cove.
Staff was very friendly, even offered to carry up our bags from the car. Clean room, nice size bathroom, good facilities in room, good breakfast.
Whilst this was only for one night, we were very impressed right from the start. We were welcomed by Dasha, who runs the place very professionally, and she and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable, and the location was great for a walk to the beach (a little longer than the advised five minutes, but not a route march either!). we dined in the restaurant (see separate review) and weren't disappointed. There are plans to revamp the dining room.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Evening meal was superb. Very cosy, relaxing atmosphere and we felt very welcome. I would return to this hotel even with the few snags.
Wifi didn't work in room however it was sorted while we were there. Lighting our bedroom was dim - I would of liked it a little brighter. We had a little problem with the plumbing in our room but it was sorted quicky.
Outstanding views, staff, food and service.
Car parking a bit tight
Excellent location, superb small hotel, staff very attentive and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Lovely room overlooking the countryside. Excellent choice for breakfast. 10 minute walk to Lulworth Cove, 5 minute drive to Durdle Door
The location was perfect with beautiful views across the countryside and within a ten minute walk to Lullworth Cove. There are plenty of fantastic walks in the surrounding area and many places of interest to visit including Monkey World (a must for animal rescue followers). The hotel meals were excellent, the attention to detail was faultless. and the staff could not have been more helpful. We enjoyed a wonderful few days!!
The room we stayed in was a little small.
