We had a very large and comfortable bedroom and a large modern shower room (no 55) with a lovely view .The weather was appalling! We ate in the Lounge Bar and were surprised by the quality of the food! and the very reasonable prices We would definately stay here again and hope for better weather next time!

The building is very old and full of history. The services are good. The view is really exciting. Have a large parking lot. So I can park my car easily. Food is delicious I could not use my phone as long as I stayed there because there was no signal. The lift is so old to be operated. The location is too far from city centre.

The decor was lovely and unique. Our room smelt like stale smoke though. Only downfall was the hotel was too far from Bath centre which was not the fault of the hotel but of Bath tourist information. Regards Rima Bit far from Bath centre. Also the shower gel in packets. Very difficult and impractical as it was difficult to open with dry hands and worse with wet hands.

Unfortunately our experience of the hotel was not the best. We were unable to sleep the first night due to our room being over the disco room and noisey guests. The bathroom was more like the size of a small cloakroom. We asked to be moved the next day which was arranged and the second room was quieter and a bit more comfortable. Breakfast the first morning was ok but we were not offered any additional items like fried, poached eggs etc. waited quite some time to be served our tea or coffee. Better the second morning.

The communal areas are a hotch potch of shabby styles and colours. The stairway and corridors smelt very badly when we arrived, as if there were blocked drains. The communal areas needed a damn good cleaning. The bathroom was basic. Even the bedroom was shabby, although the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. There was a wedding and disco going on so we couldn't have dinner in the hotel.

Lovely reception, spacious room fixtures and fittings were of a high standard clean I thought the directions to the hotel from the main roads were extremely poor. Found it very difficult to locate. The local railway line was a little noisy at night.

Situated very close to the city of Bath, yet in the country, the hotel has ample private parking for all guests. The building was originally constructed in the 1700s and parts of the original building is still preserved. It has a very good restaurant and a breakfast hall. Room service was very good when we could not find the energy to dress to go down for dinner at the restaurant. Very clean interiors, well kitted. Nothing bad to say about the hotel, except that we has a little trouble finding it even with the help of satnav.

No specific highlights - standards reasonable throughout without being especially noteworthy in any area. By and large 'did what it said on the tin'. Dislike would be too strong a word but elements of the decor seemed tired ( although had the impression work may be ongoing to deal with that ) and the bed was a little soft for comfort. Small details really, no big problems. I doubt I'd recommend only because we found nothing exceptional about the hotel and the limitations of location. That suited us for our own reasons but, for those without such specific location need, I'd think there'd be more convenient locations of similar or better quality for most visitors to the area.

The staff were excellent, being helpful when we requested an early breakfast. The hotel room we stayed in was quiet, even though there was a wedding going on. It was also clean and comfortable, therefore we had no issues with the room itself. This is not a city location hotel and is situated out in the country, about a 10 minute drive from Bath so you need to take this into account. If there is an event on, such as a wedding, car parking can be difficult.

The hotel is situated near Bath town in a beautiful area. The room was nicly furbished. The service was good. The wifi was working correctly. There is a bus service to town centre. The hotel is situated ca. 6-7 miles from Bath town. It costs ca. 12 pounds by taxi. The public bus runs from a stop ca. 500 yards from the hotel. It costs ca. 6.50 pounds for a return ticket. Breakfast is not automatically included in the room price.

Nothing. Hotel is very old. It is very stinky. Room very cold. We had to call them twice to get the heating working in the room. The heating only worked for a couple of hours even having a baby in the room. Water was not very hot and water pressure was a joke. Very bad hotel. We go to Bath every year for Bath half and we will not stay there again.

Excellent architecture and charm! Age of the hotel with it's condition and the comfort. My wife loved that it had a bathtub, to wind down from a long day of sightseeing. The hotel was located far enough from the "hustle & bustle" of Bath's city centre to make the stay pleasant, yet convenient. Carpet was a little too worn and old (old exposed original wood floors would have been more attractive). Parking was a little limited but we luckily were able to improvise to create the last possible spot on the lot.

I was looking for a cost effective hotel and had been checking out Travel Inns etc. This hotel came up with a room at a lower cost than I had been able to find and as it was directly in the area I needed to be in I took the chance to book it. I have to say I was very pleasantly suprised. We had a lovely room complete with 4 poster bed, very romantic and as we had been unable to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary on 31st January it more than made up for not being able to celebrate. We had a very enjoyable meal in our room courtesy of room service. Very pleasant and courteous staff. Delightful stay, would be well worth going back just to relax. The room and en-suite was spotlessly clean, with only one fault, which I pointed out to the receptionist when we left, who was very apologetic. The base of the 4 poster was solid wood with small cut outs along both sides, this unfortunately had not been cleaned out for some length of time judging by the fluff, hair and decorative bits which were lying in the cut outs.
