On the banks of the Avon River, Old Mill Hotel & Lodge has lovely gardens and stunning views of the countryside surrounding Bath. It is on a site that housed a flour mill until 1907.
Score from 1279 reviews Good

Score from 178 reviews Very good
The hotel is in a lovely location Staff friendly and helpful Lovely view of the Avon river
Shower is not suitable for anyone over 6 foot tall. Wifi signal not good (most likely due to age of building)
Beautiful relaxing place. Excellent views from our room. Excellent helpful staff. Very good food.
We couldn't stay longer.
Old beautiful building, nice garden, large parking area, nice bar and fireplace, good bar food, friendly and helpful staff. Bathtub and nice bath soap and shampoo.
Twin room had small and uncomfortable beds. Too soft and make backache. Tiny room, no space to open the suitcase. Slow internet connection. Like a labyrinth to find the room.
It was comfortable and friendly and in a lovely area.
That unbeknown to us the TV had been programmed to give us a wake up call by coming on loudly and automatically at 6.28am, presumably set by the previous occupants.
Nice to be upgraded to a superior room
Wifi poor. Had to keep logging back in again
more than pleased with the rooms .service and food, would book again.
Very friendly and helpful staff Close to Bath, but only if you're driving Nice old-fashioned hotel
Breakfast was expensive for what it was. The drain in the shower was blocked, I removed its cap to check and it was disgusting. I know this is not the hotel's fault but the SatNav took us down a bridleway down a hill which my car struggled to reverse back up. At night it looked like a small country lane. We had to empty the car and push it up the hill backwards. I thought I would've had to have car towed. It didn't bother me a lot, but one of the nights there was a wedding party with extremely loud music.
it was a beautiful and old hotel- exactly what you are looking for in a quiet English getaway. Highly recommended.
tips- look at what you can order for breakfast before hitting the buffet! also there are no leaflets for bath.
Food was good.
The whole place looked like a guest house in the 1970's. A 2014 boutique hotel it certainly is not.
Staff excellent, food very tasty, room small , but adequate for our needs.
There was a wedding on and the guests were up till 4am.smoking outside our window, setting car alarms off, running up and down corridors, having parties in their rooms and we could hear the dj until 12.30am.
Location and surroundings Close to city centre
Everything inside is so outdated. The toilet worked in a wierd way so that it always was full of water.
The hotel was in a nice location and the building itself was very charming. It wasn't far from Bath which was excellent.
The room was far too small for the price of £90 a night. The ventilation in the room was nonexistent. The television had very poor reception. The shower didn't work properly (when on cold, it was piping hot). The cushions on the bed were dirty. One of the staff members shouted at us for being in a common room which was open. We were charged early for our stay without warning. Breakfast was lukewarm on the first morning. The bar in the hotel closed at 12 even when there were many guests still there and on the weekend.
Style of the hotel and views
Difficulty getting a meal one evening and waiting time with coach party getting preference
The staff were very attentive. The hotel was pleasant if a little tired in places. But it had character. Bar food excellent restaurant food good.
Our room was small overlooking the back area which was very untidy. The room was uncomfortably warm, didn't get a good night's sleep first night, hotel supplied a fan so it was a little better. Coffee at breakfast awful as we're the sausages and scrambled eggs.
A wee bit nippy
Beautiful grounds. Lovely lounge/ bar areas Great breakfast and restaurant Good food Clean
Nowhere to hang clothes in bathroom while in shower Had to re-enter password every time you wanted to use it even though you had just been on it.
Room was clean Bathroom was just OK
Lighting in room and bathroom Availability of channels on TV (reported to the hotel manager, who said he would sort - not sorted and no update from manager or other staff) "Free WiFi" not in my room (No 58) 3rd floor, back of hotel Lift only goes to 2nd floor Best Western should be required to advertise the fact that the lift only goes to 2nd floor, there were a number of elderly people staying during my stay - dragging luggage up to the 3rd floor could have been a problem for some people staying at the hotel. Overall I wouldn't stay again.
Great location in a beautiful setting.
Plumbing a bit noisy.
Location, food and price.
A little tired in places but this did not detract from the overall enjoyment of staying
Hotel had everything we needed, the rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. Breakfasts were superb with lots of choice and good quality food. Hotel in a lovely setting in a valley about 5 miles outside of Bath. Park and Ride not far away for easy trip into Bath.
Without a car visitors would be stranded. Hotel on inclines difficult for disabled people to access. Starting to show its age, Nothing to complain about it was very good.
Room excellent, very clean and tidy. Breakfast great plenty of choice good service in restaurant.
1 small negative dinner menu doesn't change regular enough
The location of the hotel was very idyllic with a lovely old worldy feeling the staff were very helpful and professional, well presented. The buffet breakfast was excellent so was the evening restaurant.
The only thing I didn't like was the bedroom was to hot.
Antique heating system, non-functioning towel rail, hazardous placing of fixed kettle, very limited choice for breakfast in large almost empty antiquated dining room.
Sharing our friends wedding day
Room was very small as a single bed had been put in alongside the double leaving no space to sit at dressing table even Room looked out to bin area so nothing pleasant about that !! Shower dangerous temperature wise as not controlled by thermostat Bathroom dirty Paid for breakfast but did not bother with it as unsure if the previous nights wedding food provided by the hotel had caused the food poisoning that I suffered from on the night of our stay
View's from room mi were amazing. Lovely quiet location. Short drive from Bath City centre.
Couldn't access wifi. Room was dusty in some areas, towel rail, top of bed, curtain rails. Strange smell coming from sink in bathroom when water is drained.
