Lovely big bed and room (101). when arriving and seeing exterior thought it was going to be a bit Bates Motel like inside, but the interior had lovely traditional rooms and our bedroom was very nice, staff excellent and nothing too much trouble. Great 2 night stay.
totally obliging staff and top quality food and service
noisy road - could do with double glazing
David was absolutely incredible
BREAKFAST FIRST CLASS FANTASTIC FRIENDLY STAFF COMFORTABLE BEDS
Fantastic choice of food at breakfast - lots of fruit too! Cooked options were cooked very well. Staff were excellent, the guy on the front desk was extremely helpful. Reasonably priced too.
There were many breakfast options and all were delicious. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated. It made a great place for our stop in Cardiff.
We enjoyed the quiet ambience and the attention to detail that was evident in every aspect of their service. Understated elegance was the order of the day. Just superb. Looking forward to coming back
Nothing at all
Location was great. Wish we could have stayed longer but there was no availability for more than one night. Otherwise we would have stayed three nights...
Lovely hotel, friendly welcome. Great location. We had a lovely stay will return next time we are in Cardiff.
Fantastic atmosphere with very friendly and efficient staff. The choices on the breakfast menu cater for any tastes. The rooms are very nicely appointed and comfortable.
The mattress on the double bed was a bit uncomfortable. It was very springy in the middle and sort of sagged to the outside giving the feeling that one was about to roll of the bed.
I liked the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff as well as the excellent breakfast. The room was large, clean and comfortable and well provided with everything to make for a comfortable stay.
The hotel was a little further out of the city and away from the tourist attractions than I had expected. It was a 20 to 25 minute walk through the park which was fine for me as the sun was shining. It may not have been quite so pleasant on a bad day.
The hotel is in a good central location with a pleasant 15 - 20 minute walk into the town centre. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. There are several restaurants nearby so you don't need to go into the town centre to find a place to eat.
- typical Welsh atmosphere - excellent location next to the park - nice and helpful staff - clean rooms - reasonable prices - good wi fi signal - rich breakfast - silent location
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fab - fruit, cereal, cooked breakfast and toast.
Everything!!! David was very helpful - couldn't do enough for us. All staff friendly and accommodating. Location is great for City Centre Felt very relaxing - like home from home.
Road noise as the hotel is on a busy main road, but it still didn't bother us much.
Staff Decor Style Attention to detail Breakfast Location Tea/coffee facilities
Small bed Bouncy mattress No air condition Small room, no space for suite case No space in bathroom to put shampoo and cosmetics
The staffeta were very friendly and the breakfasts excellent. Our room suited our needs and we learned the walking and bus routes to get around fine.
Being in the top floor the room became a bit stuffy at times so likely is very warm earlier in the summer, so could use a fan.
Very nice establishment from comfort, hospitality to sumptuous breakfast.
No need to comment
Very large room with traditional furnishings. Very clean. Receptionist was pleasant on arrival Free parking
No air-con Breakfast and checkout 10 and 11 o'clock respectively - too early for a Sunday. Elderly female receptionist had poor people skills
Four poster bedroom was very comfortable and roomy. Breakfasts were excellent, catered for our specific tastes
Creaky floor boards from the room above. Room faced onto a main road, no double glazing so quite noisy at times
The privacy and comfort
It was a lovely looking hotel and it wasn't far to walk to find somewhere to eat. Our dislike was no lift but the receptionist on at the time we arrived actually took our cases to our room. The room was lovely but we needed a bit more room for our cases. Staff we did see were great as was the breakfast room.
The main minus about the hotel is no lift (we were at the top of the house and had heavy cases). We managed to get a park at the back of the hotel but I don't know where we would have gone if that park hadn't become available.
Perfection location, beautiful hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, when back in Cardiff I'll go back there!
Staff were fantastic and very efficient. Bedroom was brill (4 poster at front of building). Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty on offer. Location was super, not far to the city and on a lovely old street.
Parking is very tight but we made it. Price was quite steep in my view.
perfect location - pretty close to the centre, clean, great breakfast, friendly staff
some rooms face a noisy street
