The Lincoln HotelEastgate, LN2 1PN Lincoln (Show map) Very good, Score from 354 reviews“It seems to be a well run, comfortable hotel with helpful, friendly staff and in a superb location. Good breakfast and parking and overall good value.”
Ashley,
Woodbridge Suffolk
Opposite the Lincoln Cathedral, and a 5-minute walk from the center of the city, is the Lincoln Hotel. Drinks can be enjoyed in the outdoor sitting area, in the hotel’s beautiful grounds. A full English and continental breakfast is served in the Long Room bar, which has views of the cathedral. Local ingredients are used to create the varied menu in the bright and modern Green Room restaurant. The wooden-beamed cellar bar, Bar ‘67, is a stylish place to relax with a drink. Each room at the Lincoln Hotel has air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a sitting area. Some rooms have views of either the hotel grounds or the cathedral. Lincoln Central Train Station is a 15-minute walk away. Carholme Golf Club is less than a 10-minute drive away. Hotel Rooms: 71

The Lincoln Hotel has one of the best locations in the City, it overlooks the Cathedral and is within 200 yards of the shops, restaurants, and pubs in the old town. The food in the hotel's restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Parking was extra - another £5 an night and really should have been included in the room rate. Staff are helpful and friendly - good customer service. The standard rooms were reasonably presented but the double beds are very uncomfortable, small and very short. This is a problem commented on by other guests. The corridors could do with urgent refreshment - on the ground floor on the approaches to the rooms the carpets need a clean and the walls and room doors need repainting. There has in the past been money spent on the fabric of this hotel - this needs refrshing if they are going to maintain their price and reputation.

In a really great part of the city. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was great with a view of catherdal. If you are not apart of a function/wedding make sure you get a room in the old part of the hotel. We did that and no noise from the wedding. So not really a complaint just be aware.

One member of staff was excellent, room was nice and the location was superb They seem at the time we visited to have a lot of functions on utilising the main lounge area, bar area and restaurants. We arrived on a friday evening to find we were unable to get a drink or something to eat in the hotel, a fact which the staff didn't seem in the slightest bothered about, just told us we would need to go into town.On the Saturday afternoon we made a reservation in one of the bars to have some food in the evening and were shown a menu, which when we went down in the evenning was not available onlt a platter menu not suitable for an evening meal. The vegetarian selection on the cooked breakfast was appalling with no vegitarian sausages etc and no one could offer any information on what the mushrooms, tomatoes etc had been cooked in.There was also only scrambled eggs no fried or poached.Overall the hotel were obviously more interested in catering for the functions at the expense of their regular guests.A Very disappointing weekend

The room was nice although a little cluttered and hotel restaurant was ok (circa £20 per head for 3 courses - very limited vegetarian options) You need to check if they are holding a wedding at this hotel when you are due to stay - if yes do not expect much sleep and you may struggle to use the car park. Customer service at reception is poor and very unhelpful.

We arrived early and were given a room without any problem We would like to have been informed of the fact that a wedding was taking place and several areas of the hotel were "off limits"

Convenience shops and tourist attractions Hotel is tired and needs a facelift. Delays in breakfast and checking out on day of departure. Demand on staff and facilities for weddings and functions shifts focus from others. Check in not very welcoming either as very perfunctionary delivery and rushed.

Staff were helpful, Breakfast was a good English Breakfast. View of the Cathedral was great. Noise from wedding party's on Friday and Saturday nights. Would have been better to be warned that wedding receptions were taking place, (directly below our room) Carpet had some stains on it in the bedroom. Wall paper marked in places, I wouldn't really expect this with a 4 star. Also English Breakfast did not have fried eggs, only scrambled available.

The welcome at Reception was excellent and during our stay all the staff were very helpfull and friendly. The room was cosy and had a good view. The breakfast selection was fresh and presented well, we just chose a busy time to come down for it!

It was very well situated - we left the car in the car park for our whole stay. It was good value for money. The staff were pleasant. The breakfast was good. The music played in the bar and breakfast room was too loud and intrusive. It is not necessary. Play some nice soothing music such as a string quartet rather than Radio 2 which was in your face.

Lovely room, really good location in Lincoln and excellent breakfast! There was a bath in the bathroom but the plug wasn't good enough to hold in the water so it just ran away! Shower was good but I would have preferred a bath!!

Rooms excellent, beds comfortable, food excellent, staff friendly, helpful and cheerful. Convenient for Cathedral and local bars and restaurants. We will be back! The only criticism I have is that the bars do not serve any real cask beers om draught, although they did have a small stock of bottled Spitfire and London Pride.
