staff were very helpful The room was very clean

The friendly staff, how clean it was. Nice to see all staff we spoke to were english and they had time for you. Good to see the hotel had not lost any of it's charm (stayed there 33yrs ago).

Never saw any option on the breakfast menu for people that have special dietry requirements eg diabetic food,gluten intollerence food. A small fridge in the room would have been a good idea.

drinks quite expensive, outside pool was open but looked closed with cover on, rooms were warm and needed ventilation, shower gel is too watery

Great Hotel only 5 minutes walk in to town , nice friendly staff , clean room .

The whole ambience of the place. The staff wanted to please in particular Maitre David whose wit and repartee was unique.

Very friendly staff and efficient. Room good. Some pleasant entertainment in the evening. Food excellent value for money.

Twin beds on first night not comfortable. As soon as we mentioned the problem, the beds were changed and were then very comfortable. Just a glitch.

Whilst standard room was nicely refurbished and very clean only window opened directly onto fire escape which meant we were reluctant to leave it open at night (although we could have done with the ventilation). Steep walk up hill from seafront/town centre.

Great location ,very friendly and helpful staff,seemingly nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable and a great breakfast selection.

The hotel was beautiful, the setting lovely. There was a wedding taking place but we were warned. However, it would have been good if we could have eaten something at the hotel. Maybe ordered takeaway if nothing else! The staff were extremely pleasant, polite and helpful (especially Russell who appeared to be on duty throughout our stay!) The room was very clean. We could not hear the wedding which we had been assured of. Also the rooms were not too hot as in other hotels we have stayed in

Torquay was rough at night (bouncers outside every pub), which I didn't expect. The weather was awful, and because of the wedding we had to go out to eat. I would say that eating at the hotel is a must. I think a reduction in the normal room cost would have been appropriate given that restaurant and bar snack facilities were unavailable to us.

Friendly knowledgeable + efficient staff. Value for money rooms on special rates. Indoor + outdoor (seasonal) pools. Close to harbour/shops. Parking. Warm room, efficient shower. Pleasant large restaurant, newly furnished.

Rather uncomfortable bed, and poor lighting (dark shades on bedside lamps).

Staff were exceptional. Very helpful and considerate. Hotel very clean and well laid out. Restaurant very comfortable although later eating times may have been useful. I would/have recommended hotel to others.

My wife thought the menu could have been more varied

Location to harbour and town is great, a great location to travel to other Devon sites.
