Linden Lodge  

As we were at the races, the hotel was ideally situated between the races and York town centre. Our room was small but clean and the beds were very comfortable. As with a lot of hotels/B&Bs, the en suite was on the small side, but very clean. The breakfast was excellent, with a good selection to choose from and the staff couldn't have been friendlier so all in all, I would recommend this hotel.

The couple who ran the place very freindly and helpful food relly good and very clean.

The only thing that I can say which was not on a par with the rest was the bed very uncomfortable but then you cannot please everybody next people that stay could love the bed.

The locatioin was very good. Around 15 mins walk from the railways station, and another 15 mins till the city center. Upon my arrive the owner (well I guess it was the owner - in other words the person who received me) lifted my luggage to the fist floor for me, which was very nice of him. The room was small, but comfortable. The biggest part of the room was taken by the bed, wich was a double bed. And I prefer having a bigger bed than a bigger floor space. The cooked breakfasts were exellent. I tried a full inglish breakfast, and Linden Lodge special breakfast and I enjoyed both.

It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room. Everything else was perfect.

Lovely informative owners. Delicious breakfasts. Clean, warm and quiet with parking outside.

Very friendly and good location for the price

we got a little lost as we arrived but i rang linden lodge and we got directions we were only a couple of streets away and thought it was nice that the owner was waiting outside to make sure we found it and made sure we got parked up ok so that was a nice friendly welcome.very peacefull street and very clean inside the room as well as all over the house, bed was so comfortable menu was good selection all day breakfast as well as vegetarian which was perfect for me. i thought we were the only people in the guest house as it was so quiet but there were lots of people there i would like to say anyone who wants a peaceful comfortable good nights sleep to stay here u couldnt get any better cant get over how peacefull it was and still easy to get to town me and my boyfriend walked to and from the town a lot only 10mins walk if that i would go back again and will tell all my friends and family how nice it was 10/10

Our stay at the Linden Lodge was exellent. when we first arrived the welcome was friendly and after showing us to our rooms which were on the top floor. The stairs were a bit to much for my mother in law who is 87. At this point the manager on seeing this and because he had a cancellation he moved her down to a lower floor which was much better. The food was excellent and the service very good indeed,

Enjoyable b&b! Fair prices, good location, friendly, and clean. No frills, but no surprises either. Just a nice stay.

Rooms are slightly small with old matresses, but not terrible. Water pressure barely exists!

May be worth mentioning although called a Hotel is in fact a very nice B and B, no evening food available name is a little misleading. Hosts very helpful and pleasant, good stay. A little of the beaten track but only a short stroll to York City Walls

Only that breakfast was served too late for me to have before leaving for work (but this was 7.45am)
