I thought the hotel had a friendly, comfortable feel to it. On arrival, the staff were welcoming and pleasant. Food - my husband appears to have suffered from food poisoning. Some staff were good, others fell well short of both the desired and expected standard for this kind of hotel. Staff were noisy leaving in the early hours of the morning, then realising they may be disturbing guests, indulged in some loud shusshing. Checkout was shambolic, the receptionist dividing her attention to us with anyone who happened to catch her eye. There was no enquiry as to whether we had enjoyed our stay. When advised of the potential food poisoning the response was that 'no-one else had complained'! Overall, a disappointing stay and a relief that we had only booked for one night.

Relaxing with good room facilities 1. Not really a lakeside location as advertised 2. Evening meal menu difficult to understand and for what was offered far too expensive. Pity the hotel cannot provide reasonable light meals. 3. I would expect the dining room staff to have a better command of the english language

The hotel was very nice and the outside areas were beautiful. Good scenic views. The interior was well appointed and very comfortable. The housekeeping staff was very nice and keep on top of everthing. Wait staff in the dinning room was not attentive and would pass you by rather than ask if you needed anything. You veirtually had to stop someone or even go get someone if you wanted some thing. The customer was not the first thing on their mind, it was as though we were a bothering them.

The location is excelent, the place is beautiful and the staff did everything to accomodate our needs with 2 small children. The food is great. Although we had a great stay, I do not think this is exactly the right place for very young children, as people seem to go there to relax. It is not a criticism, just that for us it was a little bit difficult to plan our dinnings without the children, but I can totally agree with the hotel policy of not allowing small children at the restaurant after 7pm. Having said that, The staff really did everything to accomodate our needs, and my children actually enjoyed having dinner while watching tv in their room!

Stayed for New Year. Exceptionally friendly hotel with lots of extras for the New Year break. E.G. trips, afternoon tea, etc.P Perhaps on second evening. Portions at dinner could have been a little larger.

A nice pool, friendly staff and a relaxed environment. Was surprised to find the hotel restaurant fully booked one evening with no attempt to notify other guests that this was happening. Not a major problem, just surprising that no advance warning was provided.

This was our 6th vistit to Lindeth Howe, I love it for a short break, the food is excellent the staff are lovely. Good sized bedrooms and plenty of lounges to relax in. Beautiful Gardens. The hotel is relaxing as it is not formal which really suits us. This particular visit we found the bedroom too hot but it was an unusually hot spell of weather at the time.

We stayed at Lindeth Howe for only one night as a stopover while travelling north to Scotland for a wedding but will definitely return for a longer stay. A very comfortable hotel with friendly and efficient staff. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding and all provided at a reasonable price.

The friendliness, courtesy and helpfulness of staff. The varied and imaginative menus. The very well prepared food. The comfort of the lounges. The pleasure of sitting in the gardens. The excellent value for money. Slightly noisy: disturbed by TV in the next door room.

Well trained staff. Housekeeper/receptionist immediately changed our room around when it was clear our requirements on booking had not been met. Also good were the waiting staff in the restaurant. Our room was well serviced every day with proper vacuuming and polishing. All tiles shone in the bathroom - there was no mere wiping of the sink!

From the moment you walked in the door it felt comfortable and inviting. The staff rushed to take our many bags and escort us to a lovely room with that country house guest feel. Everthing you could want was provided, even a bed turn down service with a chocolate on your pillow. Dinner was served in the elegant dinning room or for the young ones there was high tea. The menu was varied and interesting and the chefs choice was excellent. Pre dinner drinks and coffee were served in the lounge and the library was a quiet haven for a read or a sly snooze. Breakfast was equally good with an interesting selection of hot dishes including smoked salmon and scrammbled egg. I am looking forward to another visit in the near future.

Excellent hotel. Would stay there again. Caring people, lovely rooms, private dining room for visitors with young children. Lovely bathrooms. Very relaxing location. Good place for touring. Extract in bathrooms needed to work or work much better! Too humid on occasions. Restaurant food in evening excellent but fresh fruit salad at breakfast time could have been fresher.

Great breakfast with a large choice of hot dishes. All in all i would highly recommend to anyone, i will definitely stay here again.” Kim, High Peak |

“The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. It was clean and had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The swimming pool and changing rooms were very clean and spa-like. We were staying as we were at a wedding nearby and only wished we could of spent more time there. All the staff from reception to bar staff were very friendly and nothing was too much, in fact I cant remember the last time we have experienced good customer service. I will definately be back later in the year for a spa break. ” L, Billingham |
