We stayed at Lindeth Howe for only one night as a stopover while travelling north to Scotland for a wedding but will definitely return for a longer stay. A very comfortable hotel with friendly and efficient staff. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding and all provided at a reasonable price.

The friendliness, courtesy and helpfulness of staff. The varied and imaginative menus. The very well prepared food. The comfort of the lounges. The pleasure of sitting in the gardens. The excellent value for money. Slightly noisy: disturbed by TV in the next door room.

Excellent hotel. Would stay there again. Caring people, lovely rooms, private dining room for visitors with young children. Lovely bathrooms. Very relaxing location. Good place for touring. Extract in bathrooms needed to work or work much better! Too humid on occasions. Restaurant food in evening excellent but fresh fruit salad at breakfast time could have been fresher.

I thought the hotel had a friendly, comfortable feel to it. On arrival, the staff were welcoming and pleasant. Food - my husband appears to have suffered from food poisoning. Some staff were good, others fell well short of both the desired and expected standard for this kind of hotel. Staff were noisy leaving in the early hours of the morning, then realising they may be disturbing guests, indulged in some loud shusshing. Checkout was shambolic, the receptionist dividing her attention to us with anyone who happened to catch her eye. There was no enquiry as to whether we had enjoyed our stay. When advised of the potential food poisoning the response was that 'no-one else had complained'! Overall, a disappointing stay and a relief that we had only booked for one night.

Relaxing with good room facilities 1. Not really a lakeside location as advertised 2. Evening meal menu difficult to understand and for what was offered far too expensive. Pity the hotel cannot provide reasonable light meals. 3. I would expect the dining room staff to have a better command of the english language

The hotel was very nice and the outside areas were beautiful. Good scenic views. The interior was well appointed and very comfortable. The housekeeping staff was very nice and keep on top of everthing. Wait staff in the dinning room was not attentive and would pass you by rather than ask if you needed anything. You veirtually had to stop someone or even go get someone if you wanted some thing. The customer was not the first thing on their mind, it was as though we were a bothering them.

The room is very nice with a Lake view. Some staffs are not friendly as they should be. There is no elevators so we need to carry our luggages to the room.

The hotel's feel of ambient quality and attention to detail. As we had booked two rooms in order to accommodate teenage boys this was an expensive break however the quality of the accomodation, overall service of the staff and the outstanding and beutifully presented dinner menu helped to make this a memorable short holiday. Inadvertantly overhearing that one of the staff was not due to start work for another 15 minutes and him implying that he would not be showing us to our room when we arrived. This was perhaps more than compensated for a day or so later when arriving back with shopping bags we were offered help by a cheerfully helpful gentleman whom we perceived to be the proprietror.

The hotel is a beautiful country house, which is impressive from start to finish - elegant but comfortable. The rooms are gorgeous and the setting is simply stunning. Absolutely loved our experience and wish we had been able to stay longer.

An attractive traditional atmosphere in a garden, with lake views which met all of our expectations of an English Country Estate from an Australian perspective The bed platform might prove a danger at night if guests were not familiar with the room. A lift would be an asset to the hotel.
