in a quiet part of the hotel, didn't hear the other guests. beautiful grounds excellent and friendly staff
room needed re decorating! whirl pool bath didn't work
Staff were great. Food fantastic Lake view from room in the roof was wonderful
Internet not up to scratch.Advertised as available in all rooms.Comes and goes and you need to find a spot in the room where it will work
The house is pretty lovely
Three rooms booked, two were lovely the third a totally different standard for a £10 difference. We would not allow our mother to stay in this room as she was a single having just lost our father. Second class citizen because you're widowed, not good. No vegetarian option for dinner, very small portions served when after a full days travelling was not satisfactory. The key to our room did not work which caused distress and spare key had to be used. When offered coffee after dinner hotel only had sour milk and had to go shopping for fresh. Lovely venue - poorly managed.
Morning receptionist had a huge personality and was very helpful and friendly .
Children's meal pizza was a piece of French bread with tomatoe puree and a slice of cheese on the top.it was not eaten. My grand daughter did not wish me to complain at the time . We were booked into the library at 6.30 and had to ask when we would be served.the meal with two children finished just before 8.30 past the 3 year olds bedtime.
Staff location parking hotel all ex excellent.
Food overpriced an very poor what their was of it. Glasses a disgrace half pint glass with markings to serve my wife a g and t. Breakfast poor. Nosalt in the salt cellar. Wine list limited. Little attention to detail if any . someone needs to review food and drink s. No managers or assistant managers visible during stay.1
Beautiful grounds. Very lovely hotel. Excellent tea and breakfast.
Rooms booked through booking.com are the worst in the hotel.
The friendliness and willingness to help. Wonderful weekend stay!
location; cleanliness; large room with openable windows for fresh air and to hear the birds. Breakfast was very good
the staff member who received us on check-in could have been a little more welcoming (perhaps we were expecting a similar reception to our previous night in Bainbridge which was superb). The hotel was much bigger than I had expected as I thought it was gong to be more of a country B'nB
Very clean rooms. Friendly staff
Was not told that the pool closed upon check in, our room wasnt ready and wouldnt be ready till 3pm, which was fine, so we headed out for the day arriving back at 7.30pm, we were told we wasnt allowed to swim as pool closed at 8pm, we arranged our day so we were able to go for a swim. my 7 year old was left very disappointed.
It's a beautiful hotel & the gardens are stunning. The staff are excellent & go the extra mile to welcome/help you -hope to return for a longer stay- thank you everyone at the hotel :-)
Slight confusion over double room via booking.com but hotel luckily sorted it out but failed to inform us of upgrade of the room incurring extra charges till check out but once again they sorted it out for us which we greatly appreciated again thank you
The house and garden was wonderful and our room was excellent with fantastic views over the lake. The relaxing atmosphere at breakfast and the keen and helpful staff.
Whilst the breakfast was overall very good the scrambled egg was lumpy so I couldn't eat it. Also on the first night we ordered drinks at the bar which was put on our room so were surprised when the next night we were asked if we wanted to pay cash as we assumed it wasn't allowed. When we checked out we found we had been charged £2 for the privilege!! This should be pointed out
Just loved staying at Lindeth Howe, The staff were very helpful, even allowed me to paint in their garden shed one day. The restaurant food was marvellous, especially the dinner at night..amazing food with sorbent between courses etc. The gardens are beautiful. We had a loft with views into the garden..Just wonderful...One of the best places I have been to this holiday.
lack of choice for evening meals
I love the traditional feel about the place, the quality of furnishings and the daily chamber maid, the excellent standard of food (wonderful chef), the dining staff were lovely as were the bar staff, who were courteous, pleasant and well turned out. The gardens are a definite draw for us too. The standard of cleanliness is very good, a must for us! We have visited before and will visit again.
Our bed was uncomfortable (we stayed in room 101) it has a big dip in the middle, our previous room had a far more comfortable bed.
The beautiful views and the gardens
That I could not stay longer.
Easy to find, well signposted from main road. Polite welcome, not particularly friendly. Swimming pool and ease of access. Gardens and views. Large well equipped room and very comfortable large (requested on booking) bed. Ease of parking. Everything spotlessly clean.
No offer of help with luggage despite being 3 floors up, no lift. Breakfast rather dried up, one dried up sausage, a tablespoon of dried up beans, eggs lovely though, and polite but no friendly chat by staff. Waited ages to be served in the bar about 10pm, in the end went and got a waiter from restaurant, again polite, but no apology. Asked on arrival if we were eating in the restaurant, but menu variation was confusing and no explanation offered. We ate in Bowness, with great recommendation from reception staff. Lack of reception 'desk' a little confusing, but when brave enough to knock door, office staff helpful!
Beautiful location with some fantastic views. We couldn't really fault anything. Top marks for staff helpfulness and friendliness. Very clean overall. We have really enjoyed our stay.
Evening meal was overpriced, so we have decided to eat out. It is a shame though as the menu looked quite interesting.
Garden, Views, and situation. Comfortable bed. Quiet situation.
Loved looking out onto the beautiful gardens. Loved the warmth from the real fire, very cosey. Breakfast was most enjoyable.
It wasn't typical of "all" the staff but some of the staff I thought were a little off-hand and not very friendly.
Friendly helpful staff: beautiful location: peacefulness: atmosphere in hotel.
Cooked breakfast was just a little disappointing. 1 sausage which was just a bit hard on the outside and only 1 piece of bacon. Rest of breakfast was nice.
Service View from room and location Food - outstanding quality Room - tastefully decorated and fully equipped with all neccessities
FANTASTIC HOTEL, STAFF AND FOOD WERE EXCELLENT. THE ONLY PLACE WE WILL STAY IN THE LAKE DISTRICT IN FUTURE.
