A lovely stay in a sweet little cottage. Our room was bright and airy with fabulous views. Charlie is a great host and provided us with everything we could have needed including home made biscuits, fresh milk and bottles of water in our room.
Loved the Victoria sponge for afternoon tea on arrival - hosts were friendly but not intrusive. Breakfast was delicious - especially the freshly baked bread. Couldn't fault it.
What a lovely guest house, the location is fabulous, our room overlooked just rolling fields and sheep!, and was very quiet. The room was beautiful, very clean with lovely bedding and the bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in! We really liked the extra touch of a few DVDS and magazines/local literature in the room too. The guest house owner couldn't have been more lovely! Really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, and very generous, we both had full English, but cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurts etc were also available if you wanted to have those as well as! We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed more.
Nothing to dislike at all.
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of information about the Dales, walks and maps. The breakfast was by far the best I have had whilst away. Very close to an extremely good pub for other meals. Thoroughly recommend to any travellers.
Charlie gave us the perfect welcome. House is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Charlie could not do enough for us. His homemade biscuits were gorgeous and very welcome after a night out ( he had put a plate if biscuits in our room while we were at a wedding just in case we were hungry when we returned) the breakfast was perfect with a wide selection of items. Charlie even gave us a lift into burnsall so we didn't have to get a taxi. We were given lots of information about good walks and places to eat. Lots of local knowledge which was nice and useful. I would not hesitate to stay at ling house again.
Having to leave such a beautiful guest house
We were made very welcome by Charlie and Jayne. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were superb; the sausages were the best I have had!! The hosts also provided us with their local knowledge, We had a great time and I would thoroughly recommend.
Lovely breakfast, reception and all round
Lovely location.Beautiful room with a fantastically comfortable bed to relax in after long day walking. Great view too. Pub up the road has a really good menu.Owners of Ling house couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Best breakfast we had all week in Yorkshire. Basically nothing to dislike.
Everything was just right and they were very obliging.
Warm welcome, lovely rooms, excellent breakfast what's not to like
I had hurt my foot, and the owner gave me and my friend a lift into town, and collected us at the end of the evening. Above and beyond expectations.
Warm and friendly atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble. Arrived to be given homemade cake and drinks.
The owners are very friendly and really lovely people with a brilliant local knowledge. I would highly recommend this B&B.
Lovely place, very kind hosts, good breakfast and beautiful surroundings. Great view from the room, breakfast was well done. Lots of tips from the owner about great walks. Nice evening stroll across the fields to a pub with nice food. Even some dvd's to watch.
Not much really, only the beds are on the small side (we saw that a lot in Britain) and the room isn't very spacious but that didn't bother us.
Very friendly hosts. Lovely personal touch of fresh coffee & biscuits on arrival. Lovely room with gorgeous country views.
Small negative which certainly didn't ruin our stay. Little dog was a little noisy when we arrived in the afternoon....only a small issue for us....mainly because we counting on an afternoon nap!
Extremely friendly owners. I had a very comfortable room with a wonderful view. The breakfasts were fantastic. The house is full of history and character and is in a great location.
welcoming owner, quiet location
Quaint old building but with modern updated rooms. Easy to find and very close to good pub. You can begin country walks from the door.
Nothing to dislike
As a lone traveller wanting only a one night stay at a bank holiday weekend I was surprised to find a place that would take me without any supplements. To then find that the owners are so helpful and friendly was an extra bonus. Loved the room - cuppa and cake on arrival was very welcome. Lovely to be able to soak in a bath and the views are amazing. I am not a cooked breakfast fan, but there was cereals, yogurt, plenty of tea and toast which suited me just fine. I received a 'phone call to tell me I'd left something behind (fabulous Charlie - thank you) but it doesn't matter . . . . I will collect it when I return - I booked a two night stay before I left!!
Absolutely everything about our stay was brilliant! Charlie and Jayne were the perfect hosts it was if we were staying with life long friends. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were looked after. We shall return as soon as we can and would really be pleased if they would join us for dinner at the Fountain Inn on our return! Thank you so so much
Having to go home from such a wonderful place!
A fantastic place to stay
Great facilities, really friendly and helpful hosts with lots of local knowledge and even offered to drive us into village. Great to have Wi-Fi particularly as many hotels don't even provide without a charge. Afternoon home bakes cookies were really yummy
