The location, surroundings plus the atmosphere coupled with the amenities. Staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast excellant.
Location, Food, Hospitality, the tarn and forest with the location.
The food was exceptional, the location and views, beautiful and the staff - friendly, attentive and proffesional at all times.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Room was excellent Staff extremely helpful Food
cozy and quiet place ! comfortable services.
Beautiful location, very friendly staff, loved the decor and setting in the hotel and the food was superb. We really enjoyed our stay.
Our bedroom was fine but the location even though it did look out into a kind of garden was noisy at times and also hot. We used the small desk fan at night but it was stuffy..perhaps a ceiling fan might be a good addition for the summer months.
great tranquil location, superb staff, amazing meal in the restaurant, lovely atmosphere and decor. Couldn't fault this hotel in any way and cannot wait to go back. Would definitely recommend the taster menu - one of if not THE best meal we have ever had.

Friendly and efficient service
Problems with hotel router meant that Wi-Fi wasn't available throughout the hotel. These things happen, but for 3 days?!!
The attentive, witty and willing to help staff. We did not have to ask for anything but had the impression that most requests would have been carried out without quibble.
Having to leave a day early, for family reasons, curtailing a longed for break! Do hope we will be able to visit this beautiful hotel again this year.
It was a lovely experience certainly one we hope to repeat in the future
We were delighted with Linthwaite House experience, it was very comforting and relaxing.
Lovely break ,excellent hotel ,very comfortable.Staff very friendly and helpful.Breakfast delicious .
Would have liked an option for a plainer evening meal.
It was all great: food was wonderful; wine advice, room, atmosphere, staff. This is the best places to which we go (out of many)
Urmmm? don't know
The staff were amazing. So gracious and "spot on" their jobs.
Loved the building and the ambience of the place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and the bed comfortable. The views were spectacular and the grounds were lovely.
Disappointed with the room size. For the price we paid I expected more space. There was a lack or storage space both in the room and the en-suite - nowhere to put the case out of the way.
The view, the friendly atmosphere, the wonderful food.........
lovely location everything immaculately clean staff very professional and friendly highly recommend best hotel I have stayed in the lakes
Everything, especially the food.
Complementary upgrade, Molton Brown toiletries, immaculate cleanliness and personal friendly care by staff.
Not spending more time there.
Beautiful surroundings. Rooms very tastefully decorated. Lots of very thoughtful little extra touches. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly helpful staff.
Couldn't fault anything - wish I had booked more than one night! Would have liked to have tried afternoon tea and evening meal which all looked divine.
Stayed here in February and was so pleased with everything. To begin with it is set in the perfect location, just a short drive from the town, with its own lake and woodland area. We stayed in room 27 which was an out building attached to the hotel. Superb room - great sized bed with large bathroom. Would have preferred a bigger bath and separate cubicle but other than that was fab. The evening meal was to die for. The staff are so professional and the presentation was amazing - everything clearly thought out and nothing missed! Will definitely be staying here again.
The only thing I could really fault was the short wait from check in time to actually getting shown to the room. The check in time was 2pm and we waited an extra 30 minutes to be shown to our room. The lounge is lovely however so we waited by the fire.
A limited fairly small (7 main courses) but expensive.fixed menu that only changes with the seasons.ie 4 times a year. Expensive drinks at the hotel Bar
