Lovely location, very comfortable hotel, food was excellent and the staff were brilliant
At breakfast very polite staff gorgeous food
Nothing I didn't like just what I needed some peace and quiet
Lovely lounging rooms which were very comfortable, and nice warm fires and views. Also very helpful staff, nicely decorated and plenty of indoor games and activities, books jigsaws etc available if needed.
The breakfast was the worst I have had. I do not like black pudding or sausages so when asked for the full English breakfast asked if I could have extra bacon. I got one small piece of bacon, one fried egg and half a tomatoe. REALLY DISAPPOINTING. My Partner had the full English breakfast but it almost looked lost on the plate. Also evening menu had nothing that I would eat so we.had to go into Bowness for our evening meal.
Everything from start to finish.
Everything was top notch! The setting was beautiful and the cozy warm fireplace was so welcoming on a rainy autumn day. Staff was equally warm and attentive. The dinner we enjoyed in the beautiful mirror dining room was superb. Gourmet but not too fussy. We'll be back for a longer stay!
Only booked one night :(
Everything. The attention to detail and customer service is second to none and they have thought of everything - even loaning Hunter wellies so you can walk around their own tarn set within their 14 acre estate. The meal was one of the best we've ever eaten and we've bought vouchers as a Xmas present for the in laws so they can experience it firsthand. We'll definitely return and will recommend it to everyone. Beautiful boutique hotel with fantastic customer service where nothing is too much trouble.
Nothing at all!
Staff superb especially female duty manager Who anticipated every need and delivered . View from outside terrace lovely . Food outstanding ...choice of formal restaurant or more casual dining . Spot on .
Lake Windermere itself was more commercialised than expected . Preferred lake coniston and Keswick
A VERY WELCOMING AND FRIENDLY HOTEL WITH EXCELLANT ATTENTION TO DETAIL. EXCELLANT MEAL TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD A REAL HIDDEN GEM
A BIT OF A LONGER WALK TO BOWNESS THAN WE THOUGHT AND AN EXCEPTIONAL TOUGH WALK BACK ALL THE WAY UP HILL, BUT STILL A LOVELY LOCATION WITH EXCELLANT VIEWS
Food was amazing
The location, surroundings plus the atmosphere coupled with the amenities. Staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast excellant.
Location, Food, Hospitality, the tarn and forest with the location.
The service was wonderful, from the personal birthday wish to the red rose left for my wife. Fantastic food and the amazing surroundings topped it off.
The food was exceptional, the location and views, beautiful and the staff - friendly, attentive and proffesional at all times.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Room was excellent Staff extremely helpful Food
cozy and quiet place ! comfortable services.
Beautiful location, very friendly staff, loved the decor and setting in the hotel and the food was superb. We really enjoyed our stay.
Our bedroom was fine but the location even though it did look out into a kind of garden was noisy at times and also hot. We used the small desk fan at night but it was stuffy..perhaps a ceiling fan might be a good addition for the summer months.
great tranquil location, superb staff, amazing meal in the restaurant, lovely atmosphere and decor. Couldn't fault this hotel in any way and cannot wait to go back. Would definitely recommend the taster menu - one of if not THE best meal we have ever had.

Friendly and efficient service
Problems with hotel router meant that Wi-Fi wasn't available throughout the hotel. These things happen, but for 3 days?!!
The attentive, witty and willing to help staff. We did not have to ask for anything but had the impression that most requests would have been carried out without quibble.
Having to leave a day early, for family reasons, curtailing a longed for break! Do hope we will be able to visit this beautiful hotel again this year.
It was a lovely experience certainly one we hope to repeat in the future
We were delighted with Linthwaite House experience, it was very comforting and relaxing.
Lovely break ,excellent hotel ,very comfortable.Staff very friendly and helpful.Breakfast delicious .
Would have liked an option for a plainer evening meal.
It was all great: food was wonderful; wine advice, room, atmosphere, staff. This is the best places to which we go (out of many)
