Score from 653 reviews Good
Staff were friendly and polite. The food was good but menu not very extensive. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm.
Room was very small, cobwebs in the bathroom and the bottom of the net curtains were not very clean (mould stains)
no bathroom toiletries
The room, which was a very good size, quiet and comfortable Very nicely furnished, new and contemporary
It is a perfectly adequate place if you wish to stay somewhere in Oxford.
Rooms are on the small side, but this is Oxford.
Staff friendly and helpful location very good. Easy access to Oxford city. Comfortable and welcoming.
We're not informed the lift was out of action- could have posed problems for us as an elderly couple. Choice of food particularly inclusive menu was ver limited and the same menu with only 3 main course options was the same no matter how long the stay. Carpet was soaking wet in our room on arrival & 2 lights not working. Plus interior refurbishment taking place which we had not been notified of.
Our welcome from receptionist - made us welcome as soon as we walked in. Breakfast was excellent with very attentive service. Room (209) was clean, roomy with very good facilities.
Although I tried hard, I could find nothing to complain about !
Banging door at head of stairs near our room 215. Maximum use made of these stairs due to the lift not working. Need for a hydraulic damper on this door.
We were with another couple who had booked after us. They were upgraded to a much larger room. We were allocated a ground floor room where we couldn't open the window in an over hot room. The room itself was small.
Proximity to town On a good bus route Plenty of parking Lovely staff Good spacing in restaurant
No mini fridge or safe, especially in executive room
The staff were cheerful, most accommodating, responsive to issues raised and helpful. The staff immediately responded to concerns - they cared. Josh was on the desk when I arrived and had to deal with funky circuit breakers and spotty WiFi. He is a gem.
WiFi worked best in the lobby area -although, after a couple of days, I was finally able to use computer from room. The room heater did not work until last evening, but I was loaned a very nice portable one. The issues were not horrible - just annoying. The staff was great.
Quiet, clean, big room, big beds in twin room
Wifi slow, kept on disconnecting, breakfast was not included in the rate
Close to bus line. Close to City Centre Staff was efficient, helpful and friendly.
The first morning I had scrambled eggs from the buffet and they were cold. Facility seemed a little bit cramped in space.
The lobby since that was probably the best part
Wifi did not work in the room, had to sit in the lobby We could hear people having a shower and flushing the toilet which sounded like the drain was right outside our window Very very very small room, Toilet didn't flush in the bathroom that well and the bed was terribly small we could hardly fit laying both of us on our stomach's .. Terrible hotel
I was a tad apprehensive about staying in this hotel given some of the reviews. We were pleasantly surprised, the staff were courteous and the room excellent. We didn't eat in the restaurant as the Cherwell Boathouse was a five minute walk away.
comfortable warm room, good breakfast, pleastant staff.peaceful location,15 min walk to Oxford centre, would stay again.
Lift out of order.
A very comfortable and pleasant stay. Excellent breakfast and good food at dinner.
Musky smell from the carpet room 105. Corridors can be improved.
Very good bar service, my girlfriend wanted water with fresh mint and lemon as a drink! The bar tender went out of her way to accommmodate this unusual request, very happy with everything about this stay.
Always helpful and polite,
The staff were excellent they were young pleasant and helpful and wanted to know if we enjoyed our stay !
The dining room was lovely but the breakfast was only ok .
I liked the quiet environment, the winding ways of the corridors. The trees and birds, and the beautiful houses around the hotel. The staff was very helpful and knowing.
Situation. Nice and efficient staff. Lobby and reception well illuminated, neat and clean.
Sound isolation was poor. Carpet flooring rancid. Old furniture.
Staff were very friendly, the hotel was very central to everything. Had a good stay .
The cost of the breakfast which we declined.
location of hotel;new decor;the garden;helpful staff,goodbreakfast;clean bathroom.
rooms on the small side, especially compared with the Monkbar BestWestern in York which we had just stayed in;toilet kept refilling; children's bathroom fan didn;t work and doorlock broke;hotel dinner prices too high for a family.
Well located in quiet residential street. Free parking. Close to bus route. Helpful staff. Spacious executive room. Cleanliness.
Very clean rooms and general appearance.
