Comfortable bed Friendly staff
Traffic was very noisy Breakfast was extra!
Cleanliness, free parking, breakfast
Location was ideal, decor just gorgeous and dinner and breakfast was outstanding! Staff really friendly and welcoming.
For a superior room it was a bit on the small side and would have expected a large bathroom with a bath
Friendly welcome. Quiet room requested and given. Very comfortable room with good facilities. First class breakfast with best coffee of any hotel I have stayed in. All staff helpful, efficient and friendly.
The decor is fabulous mix of contemporary and olde worlde. Very comfortable stay in twin beds. Shower was excellent. Staff very helpful, polite and eager to please.
Street lit room all night..thought it was daylight at 4.30am! Voile curtains delightful to look at but may needs something a little less transparent at night!
Wonderful food ,very welcoming staff and right in the heart of Shrewsbury. A delightful patio area and secure off street parking.
small room blinds not good enough bathroom a bit smelly
Lovely room, we were upgraded to the delightful Room 14. Superb evening meal, very well cooked and presented. Excellent breakfasts. We would love to come and stay again.
Make sure you present your 10% reduction dinner ticket on checkout - they won't ask!!
the staff in the restaurant were excellent. We arrived late on a Sunday evening and staff were very accommodating. Meal was really good and room very comfortable.Special thanks to Jess,Becky, Bryn and Meg who made a fantastic team and made our stay one to remember.Would return without hesitation
I have stayed here three times now I always have a good stay. The rooms are always clean and tidy and fully stocked with tea and coffee . The staff are always friendly and helpful . The restaurant is excellent the food is gorgeous . Would highly recommend this hotel. Cannot wait to stay again .
excellent clean hotel walking distance to all city centre sights, little bit pricey wouldnt normaly pay £108 per night for two without spa and leisure facilitys, would stay again probably if hotel offered promotions.but lovely clean rooms.best hotel breakfast i have had mint full english staff very pleasant would stay there again.
think £6.50 for a large glass of white wine is a little over the top didnt pay that in french restraunt in town.not much else to complain about and would stay there again.
The bar is nice and the food was good. We had lunch there and breakfast.
This hotel keeps a stash of ear plugs for its guests... The noise from the street of traffic & passers by, and the creaky floorboards from the room above are the reasons why. I didn't sleep a wink. Awful
We'll located and friendly helpful staff.
A bit of street noise - but this is a trade off for location.
The food here is excellent.
Excellent staff in all parts of the hotel..reception, bar and restaurant! They made us feel very welcome and special! The rooms are very comfortable with great pillows and bed linen. Best of all was the amazing food..we will definitely be visiting again.
Bathroom was a disaster. Tap broken and when it was temporarily mended did not work properly. Would have like a bath.
Comfy bed Fab food Good Breakfast Good location
Car park next time I will use the train :)
I spent much of my early life in Shropshire and this was only the second time that I have returned and stayed in a Shrewsbury Hotel, this time with my wife. My previous stay was at The Lion, also in Wyle Cop. This most recent visit was, I am delighted to say, a far more pleasant experience. The staff were friendly but unobtrusive, the rooms (we were in the loft) and the hotel were spotlessly clean, we had a wonderful meal on the first night and the breakfasts (served by such warm & pleasant staff) were excellent. I left slightly disappointed after my previous trip to Shrewsbury, but could I say the same after staying at the Lion & Pheasant.....impossible !! Nick & Elaine Woodhead East Molesey, Surrey
What was there to dislike - absolutely nothing !
Characterful building (not our room, though). Good breakfast. Friendly, accommodating staff.
Room was on the busy, noisy main road overlooking the Sex Shop. Booked early in April. Bit disappointed.
We stayed in Room 14 - fab room. Very clean and comfortable - plenty of space and all the facilities you could need. The hotel is very quirky and each staircase leads somewhere new. The staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding we did not eat dinner but we had room service and we ate breakfast. The scrambled eggs were fab and well worth a try.. Breakfast was outstanding.. The hotel is situated about 5 mins from the centre of the town making it a perfect location. We will be back soon..
Nothing at all...
Right in the centre of Shrewsbury is this beautiful, cosy, quaint hotel with exposed beams. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast is scrumptious and the beds are sooo comfortable. Fantastic power showers that wake you up immediately. We visited to go to the Shrewsbury Folk Festival and certainly will book again for next year as we had such a positive experience this weekend.
We loved staying in this beautiful old building with it's very well decorated and furnished rooms. Highlight of the stay was the amazing dinner in the restaurant , in fact all the meals were excellent. All the staff we met were polite , helpful and cheerful.
The noise of the traffic . I needed a twin bedded room as I was sharing with my grown up daughter. The hotel only has one and it looks out over a very busy bridge. I spoke to reception when I checked out about installing shutters to keep out noise and light. They seemed receptive to my comment. I would love to stay here again in the future if this could be rectified.
1. Convenient for bars, restaurants, shopping & sightseeing. 2. Very clean & stylish. 3. Excellent breakfast. 4. Welcoming and efficient staff.
1. Noisy if you have a room next to the road/bridge - rooms very warm so had to have a window open which negated the double glazing, unfortunately. 2. Car park impossible to turn into (especially left hand turn & access very narrow). Fortunately we noticed the NCP car park opposite after going round the one way system several times!
Would thoroughly tecommend this hotel, great location, great atmosphere. A little disappointed with the evening meal, however the breakfast were delicious and the staff are all happy in their work - overall brilliant stay. Would recommend hiring bikes from next door.
Entrance of the car park is VERY tight, be careful - however great to have parking for a town ctr hotel. Rooms are quite warm
Unfortunately our stay coincided with extreme hot weather, so the garret room was uncomfortably hot and airless.
