Every thing was to our satisfaction.
Entrance to car park a bit narrow for a 4by4! Posters of bed made bedroom more restrictive though it was nice to have a 4poster for first time ever!
Location Atmosphere in bar / restaurant Food Price Character of building
Stair access to rooms may prove difficult for some Limited space/comfort in communal areas
Decor, tasteful but still with an air of comfort.
Disappointed there wasn't a bath. Little storage, but fine for an overnight stay.
Central location. Well appointed bedroom and comfortable mattress. Good dinner and breakfast with efficient service.
The downside of being close to a main road (as our room was) on a Saturday night is post-pub street noise! Also had issues with non functioning bathroom radiator and hot water in the shower running tepid, for which we were given a modest reduction to the (not inconsiderable) overnight rate.
Car Park a bit tight if you have a big car.
The hotel has a great atmosphere and decor. The food is excellent in the restaurant.
The service at breakfast wasn't the best...however the food was good.
- Excellent design and decoration standard of rooms / entire property - Fantastic meal in restaurant - Superb breakfast included - Very friendly, attentive, efficient and knowledgable waiting staff - Extremely comfortable bed - Room was very sensibly furnished - everything you need yet nothing you don't
- Room was just a tad noisy; property located on busy road into the city centre - Reception staff (in contrast to restaurant staff) were much more frosty and stern (likely a matter of training)
Food and drink!
Both food and accommodation
The hotel was perfectly situated, tasteful and clean. Th food and facilities were also good, based on other hotels we have stayed in at York, Lincoln and staithes we thought it was overpriced in comparison
Price in comparison to other hotels of a similar and higher standard
Booked this accomdation for our weekend break the rooms are great and comfortable nice touchis like clipper tea and cookies in the room with bottle water breakfast was superb withe a great choice for every one Location to the town was less than 5 min and to the train station its 12 - 15 min walk
The only thing I was unhappy about the real ale ran out
Cheerful staff Value for money Excellent food
No wi fi in the room
The food in the restaurant was delicious. .Hotel was comfortable and decor was smart shabby chic.
but was disappointed with so-called superior room'. It seemed pretty standard and quite small but comfortable. The stair carpet was very grubby and did not create a good first impression.
Fabulous food and staff, excellent location. Really comfortable hotel and full of character.
Had to change rooms due to it not having a bath. Relocation was dealt with immediately though.
Pleasant efficient staff. Food very good indeed. Room comfortable, with simple but very pleasing decor.
Bit of noise from the street. Steps and changes of floor levels to get to room were a bit tricky if any mobility problems.
Welcoming atmosphere.Very comfortable room with everything you could need - even slippers! Beautifully cooked food. Can't wait to come again!
Comfortable bed Friendly staff
Traffic was very noisy Breakfast was extra!
Cleanliness, free parking, breakfast
Location was ideal, decor just gorgeous and dinner and breakfast was outstanding! Staff really friendly and welcoming.
For a superior room it was a bit on the small side and would have expected a large bathroom with a bath
Friendly welcome. Quiet room requested and given. Very comfortable room with good facilities. First class breakfast with best coffee of any hotel I have stayed in. All staff helpful, efficient and friendly.
The decor is fabulous mix of contemporary and olde worlde. Very comfortable stay in twin beds. Shower was excellent. Staff very helpful, polite and eager to please.
Street lit room all night..thought it was daylight at 4.30am! Voile curtains delightful to look at but may needs something a little less transparent at night!
Wonderful food ,very welcoming staff and right in the heart of Shrewsbury. A delightful patio area and secure off street parking.
small room blinds not good enough bathroom a bit smelly
