The food here is excellent.
Excellent staff in all parts of the hotel..reception, bar and restaurant! They made us feel very welcome and special! The rooms are very comfortable with great pillows and bed linen. Best of all was the amazing food..we will definitely be visiting again.
Bathroom was a disaster. Tap broken and when it was temporarily mended did not work properly. Would have like a bath.
Comfy bed Fab food Good Breakfast Good location
Car park next time I will use the train :)
We stayed in Room 14 - fab room. Very clean and comfortable - plenty of space and all the facilities you could need. The hotel is very quirky and each staircase leads somewhere new. The staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding we did not eat dinner but we had room service and we ate breakfast. The scrambled eggs were fab and well worth a try.. Breakfast was outstanding.. The hotel is situated about 5 mins from the centre of the town making it a perfect location. We will be back soon..
Nothing at all...
Right in the centre of Shrewsbury is this beautiful, cosy, quaint hotel with exposed beams. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast is scrumptious and the beds are sooo comfortable. Fantastic power showers that wake you up immediately. We visited to go to the Shrewsbury Folk Festival and certainly will book again for next year as we had such a positive experience this weekend.
We loved staying in this beautiful old building with it's very well decorated and furnished rooms. Highlight of the stay was the amazing dinner in the restaurant , in fact all the meals were excellent. All the staff we met were polite , helpful and cheerful.
The noise of the traffic . I needed a twin bedded room as I was sharing with my grown up daughter. The hotel only has one and it looks out over a very busy bridge. I spoke to reception when I checked out about installing shutters to keep out noise and light. They seemed receptive to my comment. I would love to stay here again in the future if this could be rectified.
1. Convenient for bars, restaurants, shopping & sightseeing. 2. Very clean & stylish. 3. Excellent breakfast. 4. Welcoming and efficient staff.
1. Noisy if you have a room next to the road/bridge - rooms very warm so had to have a window open which negated the double glazing, unfortunately. 2. Car park impossible to turn into (especially left hand turn & access very narrow). Fortunately we noticed the NCP car park opposite after going round the one way system several times!
Would thoroughly tecommend this hotel, great location, great atmosphere. A little disappointed with the evening meal, however the breakfast were delicious and the staff are all happy in their work - overall brilliant stay. Would recommend hiring bikes from next door.
Entrance of the car park is VERY tight, be careful - however great to have parking for a town ctr hotel. Rooms are quite warm
Unfortunately our stay coincided with extreme hot weather, so the garret room was uncomfortably hot and airless.
Staff excellent and friendly food out of this world!!!!
Comfortable bed Lovely room Very clean Friendly staff
Price was a bit high
This is a Mr & Mrs Smith hotel and it certainly lives up to its reputation. Quirky, intimate. Great location with Private car parking. A real gem. Fantastic food. Best inclusive breakfast we've had in a Shrewsbury hotel. Will definitely return.
Lots of winding stairs to rooms. Not a problem if you're reasonable fit though
staff support and cleanliness
location was on main road, so was a little noisy at times
This is our second visit to this hotel what we like is the location to the shops and a long walk by the riverside. We stayed in the loft bedroom this room was full of history of the past with old beams and individual staircase.
The narrow entrance to the car park
The room we had was at the rear of the hotel and did not suffer from traffic noise The breakfast was very well prepared and used local produce
Rooms at the front of the hotel suffer from traffic noise so always request one at the rear
Nice modern hotel
Did not seem suitable if disabled. Not at all the fault of the hotel as a very well converted old building but lots of stairs. Also parking very tight and not guaranteed.
Tasteful, stylish decor sympathetic to original features. Comfortable bed with a well appointed en-suite. Helpful friendly staff. Tasty, freshly cooked breakfast. Ideal central location with ample parking.
Food was great Room was lovely Pub was lovely
Room very noisy at front from traffic & late night revelers. When ear plugs are supplied in your room as standard it is obviously a common complaint!
The room was lovely , comfortable and just what was expected . Book a table in the restaurant and the quality was excellent ... Great dining experience
Hotel is a pleasant relaxing environment, near the centre of Shrewsbury. Food was very good. Friendly staff.
Knob on Shower was obviously broken before we occupied the room and should have been fixed without us needing to ask, that said it was fixed immediately.
The feel of the room, very light, modern and comfortable.
.Was upgraded to a room at the back free of charge. .Staff helpful but not overzealous. .The lamb we chose for our evening meal on the second night was superb best ever.(extremely tender) .Easy access to riverside walk. .Posted left items to our home address.
I really loved the design in this hotel, very peaceful, neat and nicely decorated. The staff was very professionnel : helpful, discreet and careful. You can walk on the riverside of Severn to the Shrewsbury Park the Quarry. This hotel is great, I shall recommend it to all my friends and I shall come back for sure. Catherine LE HER from France
Good location close to river.
Rooms quite small and very noisy if overlooking the road.
