This is a very comfortable hotel with large rooms furnished to a very good standard. The staff are friendly and approachable. Breakfast was very, very good. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. The only possible drawback would be the noise of other guests passing in the corridor, but this is not a problem at night.

First room 116 was tiny, window could not be shut or locked as catches not working, room was on ground foor and recommended to be shut and locked if out of room as right on secluded footpath. When told reception was moved immediately Second room 203 was on first floor it was hot and noisy (from noise inside hotel), window would not open, radiator was not working. Lousy nights sleep. To top it off waited half hour for breakfast, as others were down before me, then when a guy who had just come down to breakfast got his in 5min, I asked where mine was and I was told that I had not ordered a breakfast. Didnt have time to wait for one to be cooked as had a appoinment to get to, wasn't offered a discount or carry out, so paid for a meal never ate. If asked to describe the Best Western Lion Hotel, would say, Western Lion Hotel stayed there once!

The quality of the room was good and the food. The room I stayed in seemed to be above a kitchen with all kinds of clanking at odd hours. My room was also right next to two fire doors and late/early people made all kinds of noise which kept me awake. I wouldn't want to stay in that room again and to be honest one of my work colleagues said the same thing - it was noisy.

We were late to breakfast ( 10 to 9) but the staff were very welcoming and accommodating for us to eat then. They served us cheerfully and well even though we'd missed the schedule! My only complaint was that the "Free Parking" behind the hotel was not clear and we ended up with a parking ticket. I specifically shopped online for hotels with family rooms, breakfast & free parking. It put a definite damper on our experience to come out from our breakfast & check- out to find a parking fine!!!!

This is the third time we have stayed at The Lion Hotel and the staff are excellent - efficient and very friendly - a definite asset to your Company. The breakfast is very very good and the cleanliness of the public rooms is faultless. We stayed in room 114 and although the bedroom area was very good the room was - as in previous visits - let down by the quality of the bathroom. Although clean the bathrooms are obviously past their best and the plumbing leaves alot to be desired i.e. toilet flush poor and shower took several minutes before sufficient pressure to work. The fittings behind the toilet looked abit suspect as well. Definitely time to update your bathrooms please before our visit in 2012!!.

I've been visiting The Lion for 40 years or more. The staff are so firendly and welcoming.m The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts to be recommended. The bar food could do with a little more attention, and the bar itself does not lend itself to comfortable seating, especially when confonted by sport tv 24/7

We needed to be located near to Clumber Park so Worksop represented the best location and the hotel met all our requirements. In particular the check in staff were very friendly and helpful. If we were to base ourselves in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel.
