The Liongate HotelHampton Court Road, Hampton Wick, KT8 9DD Kingston upon Thames (Show map) Pleasant, Score from 120 reviews“Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was wonderful! Room 3. Breakfast was delicious.”
Suzana,
London
A traditional building on the outside with a clean, modern feel inside. A new management team are ready to welcome you to your home in Hampton Court. The Liongate is a traditional English townhouse dating back to 1721 and stands proudly overlooking Bushy Park, adjacent to Hampton Court Palace. Our newly refurbished restaurant offers a great selection of dishes throughout the day; breakfast, a light lunch or make an evening of it with our contemporary bar and restaurant. A new Restaurant Manager and new Chef brigade will ensure an excellent dining experience. On the second floor the Park Suite, which enjoys spectacular views over Bushy Park, is an ideal venue for private functions or meetings. Let our conference and banqueting team arrange all the details and you do not even need to leave the hotel. Located just 10 miles from Heathrow airport and surrounded by numerous places of interest, the hotel is an ideal choice for both business travel and vacations. Rooms are either in the main hotel or across the road in the Liongate Mews. Unfortunately due to the age of the historic hotel, we do not have an elevator in either building. Hotel Rooms: 32

The hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. Making up the room consisted of partially tucking in the quilt under the mattress. The squeaky floor was annoying. The temperature of the shower was very difficult to set. The shower is connected to the bath taps; after setting the temperature, the water is scalding when it is transferred to the shower. Also, moving the shower head up increases the temperature.

Its location in an interesting part of Outer London An old hotel, looking very tired, Needs to be refurbished. Bathroom fittings missing or faulty, curtains not hanging properly, noisy with ill fitting windows. No decent restaurant , breakfasts very basic. Poor service.

The position is great, right next to Hampton Court and within walking distance of Kingston. The hotel is extremely scruffy, but clean. Could do with a total refurbishment but then the price would go up accordingly! You get what you pay for I guess.

The Hotel was convenient for us to stop over one night after vsiting a client in Kingston upon Thames. It is on the doorstep of Hampton Court and Bushy Park. The room was a good size and very clean, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and the poached eggs perfect. Overall it was exactly what we were after and good value for money, would go again. It was just a shame that it looked as if certain repairs had been put off, eg to sash windows, room 5, and further delays could prove more costly than sorting them now. The decor in the room was a lttle tired but this didn't distract from our overall experience, which was good.

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The hotel is in a glamorous location, but needs to be totally refurbished. The outside looks tatty, with paint peeling off the walls, and the room was no better, with the wall paperfollowing suit. The sofa was a dust trap and the bed had no undersheet. Breakfast was barely adequate, the fried eggs were only just cooked. Overall, we were very disappointed, and glad we only booked one night.

Friendly staff, ideal base for Hampton Court and surrounding area. Excellent breakfast. The actual hotel in need of a spruce up, nothing a lick of paint and new carpets would sort out. Televisions in rooms could benefit from being on a higher stand or wall mounted.

Location was great, breakfast was tasty, staff were friendly and bed linen was clean. Our friends room smelt really damp and was pretty awfull, they complained and were given the choice of 4 more rooms to chose from which made the situation a lot better. Room was very run down, wall paper was peeling off the walls. T.v was really old and hardly any reception. Curtains were broken and shower had no power at all. Rooms needs complete re-decoration.

My room was larger than I expected, breakfast was served from 7am which was ideal for me and there was free parking. Paid £75 per night which is not too bad for the location. No evening meals are served! Luckily there is a nice pub across the road which serves great food at a fair price (The Kings Arms) and the staff are really friendly. The shower had very little pressure. Creaky floorboards but as I was on the top floor it didnt bother me just felt sorry for whoever was in the room below.

Breakfast simple and good with a choice continental of cooked (or both). The hotel is situated just 5 walk from Hampton Court Palace 10 minutes from the River Thames and has open park land to the rear. My room was a little scruffy and in need of updating.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a single room booked for the first night and a double for the second but they very helpfully put me in a double for both so I didn't have to change. They also changed the sheets after the first night as it should have been a separate booking. Fantastic location for Hampton Court Palace as it is literally opposite and I could see the maze out of my window. It is also conveniently located for the train station, being only a ten minute walk. There are restaurants in close walking distance It is slightly worn around the edges but fair for the price

Hotel is next to Deer Park Hotel is awful, the first room in the Mews, we had smelled, sink was cracked, there was mould growing in around the bath and on the shower curtain. The fire door didn't close. Windows didn't shut and I really don't know how they get away with it as it must be contravening a whole host of fire and health & safety regulation! I would never book this hotel again and would recommend that you don't offer it to other clients!!!!!!

The staff were very efficient. The hotel is very convenient for all local amenities. Beautiful outlook from our room. Hotel looked very shabby, the decor needs updating. Slow service at breakfast. Room 2 was very noisy due to the location over the main road.

The location of this hotel and the fact that it had a car park meant that it was an excellent base for visiting Hampton Court Palace. Reception staff were friendly and efficient and the cooked breakfast was excellent. Our room was on the top floor and was extremely hot. Despite leaving the fan on all night it was not conducive to sleep. However, this was the last room available when we booked and other rooms were larger and probably more comfortable. The hotel did not serve food in the evening, but there were several restaurants about 10 minutes' walk away on both sides of the river.

Location near to Hampton Court Palace. Free parking. Breakfast was fine. First impressions, dirty, poorly maintained, needs renovating. Had to hang the curtains up so we could close them! Very nice old building but worn out and grimy. Windows rotten and almost falling out of the walls, damp patches on ceiling and walls. Wouldnt recommend this place until its been fixed up!
