The Royal Hotel is situated on the banks of the River Dee, in the heart of Llangollen town centre. It is one of the landmarks that has come to define this stunning Welsh town.

Set within 1000 acres of Cheshire countryside, Carden Park Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa features a modern spa, 2 golf courses and luxury rooms with scenic views.
Score from 210 reviews Fabulous
Adapted room for disabled guest, fluffy towels, well appointed bathroom, superb staff in restaurant and reception, quiet room with plenty of storage space and good tea tray. Buffet items for breakfast. General level of cleanliness throughout, Christmas decor, manager's responsiveness to issues that arose.
Unclear signage to hotel (spa is a separate building which drivers reach first), unmarked disabled parking, small issues of lack of attention to detail by housekeeping team - no TV remote, broken bedside lamp, no hair-dryer. Hot breakfast items rather small and not always hot or appealing.
Fantastic spa, food, bed and decor but the standout factor was how polite, friendly and helpful the staff were without giving a sense of a false over the top attitude you sometimes get. Not a single member faulted. Well done. Keep up the good work.
I was slightly let down by the location as it is built on the side of a busy main road. It is also quite expensive but well worth it.
Room service was good
Water in the bathroom - too hot for a shower one day the next day too cold.
Breakfast was excellent. Spa pool and changing facilities.
Service in the restaurant in the evening was very slow.
With getting married the previous day, we mentioned it to the wedding host and he went and got us a glass of Champagne each with our meal.
No complementry toiletries when got in hotel room.
couldnt get to room serive. staff never said what facilitys we had access to. breakfeast was diffrent to what we had orderd. marks on the toilet seat, no one was at the bar in opening hours as we waited 10 minutes we gave up. wouldnt stay here again
Location excellant. Room clean and spacious
The reception was very poor. I was unable to get into my room so had to go back down in the lift to the reception and wait for somebody to be served. When provided with new key, went back to room and found somebody already in the room, very embarasing. Went back down stairs and was allocated another room. Signage also not clear when you arrive I parked at what I thought was hotel but was the spa, So had to repack bags in car and drive to the hotel. All in all not a good start.
The room and bed
Restaurant and bar prices are expensive. No children's menu. Leisure facilities did not cater for children - no separate pool. WiFi intermittent signal strength also TV aerial strength weak
The room was smaller than expected but very clean and lovely nonetheless. Absolutely no noise, and black out curtains so an excellent nights sleep! The food was also lovely and we couldn't fault the service from the staff.
People coughing and showering in adjacent rooms felt alarmingly close. A shame because this is a lovely hotel with an excellent breakfast and access to gym and spa.
Great amenities, handy for Llangollen and walking.
beautiful place best value for money very friendly stuff
We liked the comfortable bed, feather duvet and the large TV. The lovely gardens and the canal view from the room.
The corporate feel of the place and impersonal decor. The limited evening menu offered in the restaurant.
all the staff where very helpful, always there to help
Spa facilities excellent food , beds so comfy
Nothing not to like
Sunday lunch was lovely, breakfast very filling, spa facilities were good hotel staff very helpful Rooms were prepared well and very clean
Price of spa facilities was way too expensive as we paid for massages, then extra for dual treatment room, and still not able to use the snow cave and hydrotherapy pool A better explanation of how to go about our treatments would have helped as it seemed the staff just took for granted we knew where to be and where the pool etc were
Phone signal poor at the bar/restaurant
A good stay excepting the below. Very helpful staff.
The room was quite small and sound-proofing is not at all good, not good for a quiet night's sleep.
The room was spacious, clean, modern.Spa was so relaxing and the girls really look after you.
Bed to soft for me
Facilities. Most of staff.
Terse breakfast manageress who obviously doesn't do mornings?
The wait for food was such a long time in wAterside bar we waited over an hour for a sandwich
Friendly staff and lovely food in Nico's restaurant. Room was warm and comfortable with lovely canal views.
Food in waterside restaurant was very expensive and main meal portions very skimpy, side orders we requested were not served but did appear on the bill !
