Overlooking Morecambe Bay and in a 19th-century building, this hotel is in beautiful landscaped grounds. A 49 ft heated indoor pool features in Abbot Hall.

everything was good
the couple in the room next door - thin walls !
Liked the cost, the room generally and the location near to my parents house
Bathroom door had no handle. Bedroom lighting is a bit harsh. Bar facilities are basic with poor choice. No heating through the early hours. When heating is on it is noisy.
location on Abbey Road makes it useful fro all adventures.
This place is poor. Black masking tape over central heating control panel. wardrobe door missing & stood behind the wardrobe. All furniture covered in dust. Toilet seat dirty. Wind blowing through the windows, moving the curtains! It looks like the goal is to be "just good enough"
Staff very friendly the room was spacious and clean. Would recommend to friends and family.
Good private hotel. Receptionist was a little slow but she was serving dinners! A real home from home. Everything worked except the wi-fi - just couldn't connect. Dinner was excellent with huge portions ("always like this"!) and so was breakfast cereals and full English. Tea and coffee in room - enough for 3 or more cups each (and biscuits!). Would recommend this place to anyone who does not like the corporate hotels. Will definitely stay again. Well done.
One very minor niggle for me was the wi-fi - it just would not connect. But we were out all day anyway so it was not really missed other than the convenience.
Comfortable relaxing atmosphere, Spotlessly clean, very helpful staff, especially thanks to Matthew for helping me to set up wi fi on my iPad and mobile phone. Excellent full cooked breakfast always served hot.
As an elderly couple would have preferred a room with less stairs to climb.
Friendly and helpful staff, Beautiful, spacious rooms. Full breakfast to suit any request. Easy to find, parking good. Great value for money. Would recommend
Spacious rooms comfortable bed, good food
Good location. Spacious enough room (no 5). Great staff. Awesome breakfast. Good value. Already booked again! :)
Hotel a bit run down (towel holder and a door handle just dropped of the wall when touched), bathroom doors not closing properly and hard to lock.
very good value for money would stay again
Nice enough hotel, a little shabby round the edges and needs updating but we enjoyed our stay. Nice staff, comfy bed, plenty of hot water and a good breakfast.
We found the room to be clean and the bed was comfortable. Top marks for the quality and choice of breakfast. We would recommend this hotel, and will use again on our next visit to the area.
Nothing springs to mind.
Nice small hotel.
The food was exceptionally good, they were huge meals and served really hot. The people were friendly and the rooms very comfortable.
The hotel was perfect for my family and myself. Had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again.
the staff were attentive but not intrusive and all were friendly it was a great place to stay for travelling around everything was fairly accessible from this base
we had a front bedroom and the road can be fairly busy hence noisy at times but we still enjoyed our stay immensly
The Lisdoonie is fantastic value. Large room with ensuite bathroom. Spotless clean and a great breakfast to boot. Great pub called The Strawberry just across the road with cheap drink and excellent food. Barrows hidden gem.
The genuine friendliness of the staff and guests The room - the bed, bathroom and tea/coffee & even hot choc. facilities are luxury compared to hostels Option of both hot and cold breakfast
The hospitality was awesome. We couldn't believe we were treated so well. The receptionist, the chef were very kind to provide what we asked for. We had requested for an early breakfast and the chef had logged in early and provided it. It is an amazing service. We were happy to stay there and look forward to book, on our next trip.
The wardrobe itself was too old (should mention it as an antique piece). When I tried to open it, the door itself came out and fell on me. Luckily nothing major happened, but would request the hotel to replace with new one. The antique style looks nice! :-)
Really nice room, stayed just one night, great value for money, would recommend and we will be staying here again in the future
Well priced and staff were nice
The family rooms were described as having a double bed and two singles. The first family room only had one double and one single, we were moved to the second family room which had two single beds and a fouton....which had a very thin mattress & was very uncomfortable. Miss leading advertising and the owners/staff know this
Our rooms were comfortable and clean,as were our beds, ensuring a good nights sleep. The breakfasts were first class and served by a lovely lady for whom nothing was too much trouble. My wife, daughter and I would recommend the Lisdoonie any time. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
My only gripe was the thump thump thump from the disco/band playing at a wedding.I Did finish at 11.45,so got to sleep then.
Almost everything we couldnt really fault anything will certainly go back food room and hospitality was excellant value for money
Would have liked the shower a little bigger
Friendly staff excellent service
