Comfortable accommodation with helpful and friendly service in a beautiful location. Although unable to dine on evening of stay, breakfast was so good as to be memorable.

A radio in the room would have been appreciated, particularly as there is no TV.

Location was fantastic with every view a postcard. Breakfast was great. Loads of great whiskies to sample Chalet restaurant nearby

Road to Buttermere can be a little tight if you have a wide car...!

Great scenery and peaceful location. Friendly, helpful host family. Lots of rural charm with a homely atmosphere. Good food. Particularly at breakfast liked the fresh fruit salad with different ingredients on each of the 4 days we were there. Worth having dinner there if it is on offer.

When booking it would have been good to know that the two "single beds" in the family room would in fact be a bunk bed.

We had a very pleasant stay here for one night in between fell walking, we were instantly greeted as soon as we pulled up in the car park by the owner, he was a really nice chap, we had a lovely nights sleep, room was more that comfortable and clean, the breakfast was superb, we will certainly stay again.

The location was ideal a real getaway of the beaten track. Our room was spotless and welcoming. Breathtaking hikes close by. Meals were excellent along with the ability to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer at the end of the day, we will return, thank you.

The bedroom walls could be a little more sound proofed.

Amazing jumping off point for hiking and enjoying the Lake District. Ron and his wife are amazingly accomodable especially if you have little ones. Great food and views. Enjoyed the packed sandwiches so much that I went and found some sneck lifter ale chutney in Keswick and am still enjoying mature cheddar and chutney sandwiches back home in Germany. Thanks again Rob for everything.

it was great! Americans not used to tiny roads, we were delighted to find ourselves in such a remote, lovely place. Kept thinking how lucky we were to be there.. Walks in the meadow, drives to nearby lakes, friendly hosts - a wonderful experience.

Can't think of anything to dislike!

The view from our room was perfect. Friendly and helpful owners, excellent rooms and delicious home cooked food. Dinner on Saturday night was Roast Lamb with vegetables accompanied by ratatouille...delicious. Great choice of very tasty desserts as well..and everything reasonably priced,

The location--perfect. The food, 5-star. The hospitality, genuine & top-notch. The accommodations, quaint, simple, clean and stunning views of the valley. There is nothing you will not like about this place. It's full of charm in the middle of the Lake District. You can literally walk out the back door and up to the top of the Cat Bells. People are parking below and near these places, but the fact that you are literally feet from a trail and still in the countryside is incredible.

That we did not stay longer.

We were greeted with tea service. Hosts were pleasant, went out of their way to provide specific driving directions and suggestions of things to see in the area. The location of being at the base of the Catbell and Maiden More hill hiking range was so convenient. Food was excellent. Dining room was spacious and comfortable. Maps available. Beds super comfy. Bathroom facilities modern and new. Views spectacular. Plenty of outdoor sitting areas. Option of purchasing afternoon tea and food so many people stopped by after hiking. The working farm was a different and local charming experience. Also they had a TV reading and sitting room with wifi available. The breakfast generous and delicious ! Rob and Sarah were so gracious and we wish we could have stayed a week or two !

Since we were in the charming countryside , the natural downside , if you would call it that , is slightly more difficult to get there. We used our sat nav! Nothing negative to say !! Loved our stay !!!!!

Loved the location because there were good walks straight from the farm - and it was very beautiful. The breakfast was impressive! And the decor was stylish - appropriate to a Lakeland farmhouse with an original approach that we enjoyed. Evening meal was delicious too.

For the first day the wifi was very slow, but after that it was faultless.
