The restaurant was first class - the meals, service and lovely background music from a pianist. The Sid Gateley dance in the ballroom was excellent. The rooms are in need of refurbishment. With the restaurant being so good, the rooms are not in the same league. My first room was next to the lift which was unacceptable because of the constant noise. |

The staff were all very kind and thoughtful. The view from the window was lovely. Room 54 was not suitable for older customers especially if they have to get up many times in the night! |

The front facilities including the ladies toilets on the ground floor were excellent. The bedroom was very small including the bed. The bathroom was of a very poor standard. The toilet was difficult to flush and each time we had to throw a kettle of water into it in order for it to successfully flush. The decor was not up to the standard expected. |

I enjoyed the traditional, if somewhat old fashioned feel of this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, friendly caring staff, excellent food, and finding we had a sea view was an added bonus. An easy walk to the local amenities of Torquay. There was a busy road in front of the hotel, but what one would expect in a popular resort in the South of England. |

the lounge and bar area with windows overlooking the sea and the swimming pool. Some areas need up dating as decoration in some of the rooms, particulary the bedrooms was a bit dated |

.There was nothing that I could honestly say that is compimentary about this hotel. Rooms were not adequate for an hotel with 3 stars. Lights did not work. Boilers or some other contraption kept switching on during the night making sleep very difficult. The hotel was noisy particylarly with a wedding reception and children simply allowed to run riot through public rooms with no attempt by staff to get parents to control their children |

staff pleasent even though majority not english. Generally an upmarket hotel feel . Free use of items such as pool , snooker table etc. Car parking We had two rooms one nice the other very drab, old & tired. Both were on rear elevation and suffered from noise (deliveries, bins, extract fan noises). Swimming pool not heated as brochure. |

They had did not have a booking for us when we arrived. But managed to accommodate us. Did not have us booked in for Breakfast. The room we got was very small and dark, OK for one night but no more.Very disappointed. Heard running water outside all night, maybe a fountain or something similar. |

Foreign staff were nice to be fair. Hot,tiny grubby room with blood stained bedding. Mattress was very old and uncomfortable. Decor was ancient. Complained about blood on cover and it was used again for a second night. Not worth the extortionate price charged. Never again. Avoid. Unless your old. |

The rooms we were given were too small for a double and twin room, and barely any room to walk around the beds. The walls were that thin you could clearly here the toilet facilities in the adjacent rooms. This hotel clearly needs updating in all areas. It clearly caters for the elderly in all areas, especially the entertainment. |

The staff were friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel was good, a nice walk along the front to Torquay main area. The food served for breakfast was good and the service provided was really good. The seaview but brilliant The room decor was dated and the window catch was broken so would not close hence heard the noise from the traffic all night. Didn't expect the Ritz but expected a better quality room for what we paid and not just for the seaview. Has had a better standard/size of room at a Travel lodge |

The Hotel would have been a nice place to stay 25years ago no doubt, But it has seen better days very old fashioned worn out, Room very dated but great views the cost of £119.00 for one night was much to much to pay for the room that we stayed in it was a shame becouse the Hotel looks great from the outside will not be going back |

The hotel was very English, a real traditional hotel. Excellent service. The rooms could do with updating and mostly elderly people seemed to stay there. |
