Liverpool Marriott Hotel City Centre

I received an electric shock from the main light switch and I had to ask a technician to come and switch off the air conditioning manually at 1am because of the noise it made, but the control panel had failed and I was unable to do so myself. Also, the lifts take forever to arrive.

The staff was very nice. The room was lovely and well appointed. We have stayed at numerous Marriott hotels and usually seek them out.

The hotel was very warm during our stay. The hotel staff moved us to a different room but it was also warm. The halls were stiffling. Otherwise this was a great place to stay.

Comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. Location is excellent for getting about the city and handy for bars and restaurants.

On 6 floor, noise like pneumatic drill which, we think, was caused by wind gusts vibrating under the corrugated metal eaves. Bad enough during the day, but very disturbing at night.

Noise from revellers (Liverpool's football win that day) could be heard into the early hours of the morning.

We were celebrating our daughter's 21st birthday and the staff could not do enough to ensure the Saturday evening dinner was successful. Also the porter was extremely helpful in arranging taxi service. Cannot praise all the staff we came into contact with enough. A first class weekend.

The only positive comment I can make about the hotel is the central, convenient location and the cleanliness of the toilets and general lobby/ reception areas were impeccable.

Yes. Rooms were substandard taking into consideration the generally good reputation of the Marriott hotel chain. Prices were not in line with the quality of the rooms provided. Heating did not work in our room and we were subjected to use a plug in heater- this is not acceptable for a 4 star hotel. Our sink clogged with water everytime a tap was turned on.

A twin room wasn't available so we had to have a sofa bed, but that wasn't a big problem.
