Only 5 star B&B in the area. Fancy nice but different try this
The Aztec room is stunning and full of luxurious touches. From the curtains to the furnishings to the wee quirky ornaments. Made you smile! The wet room is great fun too and enhances the contemporary feel of the accommodation. The owner's wife gave my wife a lift into Penrith where she spent an enjoyable day doing the historic walk. We will definitely return for a longer period and will do one of the Llama walks.
Absolutely nothing: everything was excellent.
fantastic cottage, gorgeous place, great cafe. Amazing staff that couldn't do enough for us. Brilliant family weekend.
Just about everything. Arrived on a freezing night to a lovely warm room - large enough to comfortably accomodate the dog's crate and me. Fresh milk was supplied when hearing that I liked my drinks white - a pleasant change from the ubiquitous UHT. Great breakfast - a thoroughly enjoyable visit.
Friendly staff. Clean. Comfortable. Spacious. Warm. Easy access. Memorable. Quirky. Opened the windows in the morning to see 5 birds of prey sitting on their perches.
A bit of a mish-mash. Felt like we were renting someone's house.
Staff were warm and friendly . Very obliging and extremely helpful with regards to what we could do and where we could go during our stay.
we only stayed one night but the staff were great and made us feel welcome. we got good information on restaurants in the area had a wonderful meal. the room was comfy and very nice. the breakfast was great couldn't ask for a better stay well worth the money
Llama trek and animal encounter. kafe- good food. Fantastic breakfast. Safari suite was comfortable, interesting and a truly wonderful experience. A lot of thought has obviously gone into making the stay as good as possible.
A bit noisy but was obviously expected with such an easy to reach location. Aware of it but didnt bother us.
The owner was really friendly and welcoming and the cafe where we were served breakfast was more efficient on the Sunday when he was there [than on the Saturday when he wasn't]. The breakfast was excellent quality and there was a good choice of things to have. The llamas were brilliant and the wet room deserves a special mention as the shower [along with the quality fixtures and fittings] was fab!
We were promised to have the room refreshed on the 2nd day as we were there for more than one night. After a long day out we returned to find that this was not the case and had to wash our own dishes, dry towels on the radiator and make our own bed [didn't really create a holiday experience]. The only other small comment would be that the small ornaments take up a little too much space when it is badly needed for unpacking things, and perhaps aren't all needed as the furniture and soft furnishings already give a great atmosphere. Definitely aimed more at children than adults in the cafe/restaurant area. It was the lead up to Hallowe'en and the kids there seemed to love it. As 2 adults without a love of children then it just wasn't for us and there was no escape!
First class, we will be returning.
Very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Arrived quite late but still made to feel very welcome Would of loved to have stayed a few days to enjoy the animals and walks Rooms have great decor too
could do with a comfy topper on the bed
An, Caroline and Graham went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Our animal loving daughters were in heaven.
Unique and welcoming
lovely to be amongst nature and wildlife To see the Llamas whilst having breakfast was lovely. Also early.in the morning there was a partridge outside our room just wandering about. The staff and the owner were very friendly and helpful. breakfast was first rate, fresh cooked ingredients.lovely fresh yellow yolked eggs..
although the surroundings and being able to see the wildlife at a distance was great. Regrettably for me there was a downside. i have a allergy to dogs and reading the room booklet in the morning i realised a hearing dog had been in the room for two nights previously. .[ I will comment on my allergy next time i book a room in the future !.] but I feel It would be good for guests to be informed of it by the management also.
A truly memorable and unique experience. I can't wait to go back again.
Great Space. Superb location for our onward travel to scotland. We were kindly upgraded on arrival to the safari appartment and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautifully appointed. Lovely welcome by all staff. Will be recommending this to everybody i can!
Nothing to dislike.
The room facilities and extras made a lovely touch. The animal tour was fantastic. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Breakfast was excellent too. Would definitely recommend this facility.
The A66 wad a bit noisy.
The Safari Suite was well equipped and we loved the 'kitchen in the cupboard' right down to the modern 'pod' coffee maker. Lovely furnishings and loved the safari theme throughout. Enjoyed our breakfast, particularly the freshly squeezed orange juice. Llamas and other animals were a delight to look at in the morning.
Quirky & unique concept Helpful & friendly staff Great Kitch decor
Traffic noise from the busy road nearby and as we stayed in the summer we needed the windows open to cool the place which made the noise worse. Slightly too cluttered with all the bits & bobs leaving insufficent room for the guests and their possessions.
food very nice accomodations are a high standard incredible animal enclosure on site
quite near to a main road
The staff couldn't do enough to make our short stay as enjoyable as it could be. The kids liked seeing all the different animals, and the food in the cafe was excellent.
Staff were very helpful and friendly and there was real milk to go with our morning tea rather than uht pots. Younger children would enjoy breakfasting with all the animals around. It was easy to find too.
Only slight downside is the nearness of traffic, but this didn't really disturb us.
Would have loved to have stayed for longer. We only stayed one night passing through Penrith on our way up to Scotland. We would have been comfortable in our room for much longer as the room was so lovely and the facilities fantastic. We stayed in the quirky safari suite, perfect for two adults and 2 teenagers. Breakfast was excellent and has the added bonus of watching the llamas eat theirs at the same time.
would have loved to have done the llama trek but felt that it was a bit pricey on top of the room bill, maybe a discount for people who are booked in to accommodation. :)
All the staff are so helpful and friendly . Stunning views from sliding doors. You can see out but nobody can see in. And of course the lovely llamas.
Outside is one table and two chairs to be shared by two rooms. Inside an assortment of wooden chairs and stools, just wanted a comfortable chair to relax and take in the view.
