All staff worked extremely hard to ensure the stay was extremely enjoyable as it was over the New Year period. Pool could have been a bit bigger

Loved the grounds the sheep and the sheep dog also the chess was great as we were there for a funeral so in took our minds off the day for a time. The day staff were very kind and helpfull too also the bar meal in the evening was enjoyable. The spa looked enviting but forgot cosy such a shame. The receptionist was unhelpful on arrival as we were 15 minutes early so may be thats why. Also the plates at breakfast were really dirty food still on them very dissapointed it was a let down, you could have done with more staff on at breakfast to help the lady who was very helpful but had too big a work load 8.30 is the prime time for breakfast she was standing on her head trying to help everyone. The rooms could do with a lick of paint just to brighten them up, but over all it was a plesent experance considering the reason we were there.

Pretty location quiet should have been idyllic however the things that went wrong and weren;t remdied wrecked our whole stay and view of the hotel I have no other way to submit a complaint and I have nothing positive to stay this was supposed to be a romantic away from it all stay and we had no hot water of any useable amount flowing to bath or shower despite calling reception nobody did anything and we din;t want to go down unshowered so it was a disaster I;ve reported it to the genreal manager since my return but they haven;t yet responded so I don;t think you can really epect me not to use this for compalint. In addition the remote for the TVwas missing and despite promises it wasnt replaced

Seemed a bit depressed - the decor was awful (though someone had gone to some trouble with it), the breakfast was poor and though the staff did try I get the sense they lacked leadership

Peaceful setting.Rossett is a lovely, quiet village but has a number of pubs (if you want to wander outside the hotel ) including a riverside pub ' the alyn' which we spent a night in.Excellent food/drink & setting. I found it a little too warm-especially at night & although the breakfast was vast I found the staples ie sausage/black pudding/ dry as kept under hot lights. However, choice was large with juices/danish pastries/cooked meats/etc etc.

Friendly staff. The location is great and grounds/setting is pleasant. The food was very good food. Overall our stop in the Hotel was enjoyable and good value (with the special deal we had). A little freshing up of the decor would help.

Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had plenty of hot water. I enjoyed the evening meals. The staff (at Reception and Restaurant) were pleasant and helpful. Initially our room was inadequately stocked with shower gel and only one face towel for two people. No flannel either. We ate our evening meal at the hotel on each of our three nights' stay - twice in the restaurant. On the second restaurant visit, we believe that we could have been placed at a requested table, but were not. On both evenings we had to wait an inordinately long time for our various courses - this did not matter so much on the first night but caused considerable inconvenience on the second. The restauruant was not very busy thus the delay was unexpected.

The grounds of the hotel were lovely well maintained, and were well lit at night. I did not like having to leave my bank card details with them just on the off chance we wanted room service or a drink from the bar after 10.30pm especailly when full payment was made when the room was booked.

We only had breakfast as we dined at the nearby pub, which was execellant. The breakfast was a good layout of everything that you could think of, and enjoyable. The room you see on the web is not what you get on executive, it is in need of a very good clean and tidy up.The pool is ok but there is no jacuzzi this is covered up with a piece of board. The gardens should be at their best this time of year, yet they looked liked nobody had attended them at all this year apart from the grass being cut.
