The hotel is lovely, the location is fantastic! Staff where attentive and food was great!
Two single beds pushed together does not constitute a large double as advertised. It is also uncomfortable! If advertised as a double room they should at least fit a suitable mattress!
Probably the best service we have had at an hotel - not 'in your face' but every need accomodated as soon as or before you might need it!
Sorry I am unable to find anything to dislike.
room and view were wonderful
added prices to breakfast, never experienced that before
Fantastic views..friendly staff..good food...nice rooms..what more can you wish for.Will recommend this place anytime..please go..it's well worth a visit.
A good homely atmosphere though the immediate garden area appeared to be unkept; the front lawn needed some attention. Our friends had a good eating experience with the Venison particularly appreciated. Breakfast was relaxed and wholesome.
The apparent instability of the hot water system. Matter of taste but we did not enjoy the meal on Saturday night; the Chowder was an unknown version, and the Pork was dry, while the noodles were clogged, dry and unappetising. The other meal was notable as the Sea Bass was small, and instead of Mussel sauce there were a few dried Mussels. We didn't have a sweet, so at over £60.00, the meal was a disappointment.
Front of house windows & views Comfort of bedroom & lounges Walk down to the beach
Path down to & along coast could have been cleared/improved for aged legs!
Polite and helpful staff in a remote and wonderful location. Definitely a place to go to recharge the low batteries after a busy year. Lots of lovely walks and a view from the bedrooms that would be more suited to an art gallery. The main hotel has a hint of days long past but is pleasant and well maintained. In the dining room, a window seat is a must for fabulous views.
Nothing of note.
Friendly staff Nice rooms - fantastic views Excellent quality food
The location of the hotel was very impressive.
Matress was vey uncomfortable. Didn't realise from description that most of the accommodation is housed in an adjacent two storey wooden annex. Noise from floor above was very annoying.
Location, staff, food quality, value for money in bistro.
Restaurant food very expensive Room decor was tired Brown towels
Superb setting with splendid views from bedrooms, lounge and restaurant. Friendly and efficient staff.
Having to walk outside to go to restaurant and other parts of the hotel. As it happened we had nice sunny weather but it might not be enjoyable in cold or rain. The two eating places had quite separate menus. Would it be possible to have some of the bistro courses (like the excellent salads) inte restaurant?
views from hotel
need power showers on upper floor rooms
beautiful views from rooms, gardens are a must see.
Excellent attentive friendly service and a stunning location
Although the bathrooms had been updated the chalet rooms are a bit tired and the décor dated. however they contain everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The fine dining experience was a bit disappointing. My lobster had spent far too long in the fridge and was almost inedible but the soufflé was good. Very good service again in the dining room
Terrific location- out of this world, tranquil and peaceful. Ideal place to unwind. Wished i could stay longer. Dog friendly place. The views were outstanding. The friendly staff were v. Welcoming and accommodating, service without fault. Rooms clean, spacious and everything you needed for those added luxuaries were there. Wifi excellent good strong signal, mobile useless no signal but thats to be expected due to its remoteness, alternative use of Telephone in room at reasonal pricing if required on hand but never used. Participated with an evening meal. Choice of Bistro Room good priced varied menu but decided on Dining Room experience for a more formal occasion. Proper napkins made it all worth the price. Bit pricey but well worth it, restaurant have 2 Rosettes so expect good dining. Breakfast was continental but paid extra for full cooked breakfast. So impressed left gratuities, as staff made experience all worthwhile. Intend to come again. 10+ Rating.
None. Scratched my head to find a fault - but weren't any. Unusual to say it, but faultless.
The views from all the public rooms and bedrooms are spectacular, even in the rain. The choice of either a la carte or casual dining, the food was excellent, the rooms were modern and well equipped, staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this small well run hotel and have stayed once before and hopefully again.
The peaty water, while I realise it is safe to drink it was off putting.
Every things except lt is half hour drive from oban center Taxi charge 80$
location gardens view friendliness of staff privacy
Oddly enough food in the bistro somewhat disappointing. Hated "chopping board presentation" and curry was just hot. Sent back curry and took fish and chips instead. There seemed to be little effort made foodwise. Dry burger and the salad a lettuce leaf or two and a tomato no dressing!!!! sourcroute and gerkins and salsa horrible !!! Supposed to be a two rosette standard so very disappointed indeed. It should have been £30 but they charged us half because we complained so did one other guest regarding the lamb curry ! The mai dinner at £39.50 a head was too expensive for us so just wet to Bistro. Could not recommend.
scenary Food Choice of meals Cheap and expensive. The cheap is ok The expensive is very good
The loch view was excellent, food was excellent, with a choice of fine dining or bistro. The separate gardens are superb and a must-see.
Room needing a bit of an update but the rate was exceptional, so good value for money.
Had a nice comfortable and clean room overlooking the bay with its beautiful view. Service was friendly and overall an enjoyable one night stay.
looks a little tired in places, not sure if shabby chic or just shabby.. if it were not for the view, definitely overpriced. Food in the main restaurant also seemed very expensive although the bistro was more reasonable. The only meal we had there though was breakfast which was OK but a little limited in variety.
Food and views excellent
Rooms very basic and small as were bathrooms. Water pressure v poor. Furnishings tired
Great location, great views from our bedroom/restaurant and bistro. Our room was nice and clean, really comfortable bed.
Would suggest a DVD player in bedrooms would be a nice touch! We upgraded to a full Scottish breakfast next morning (paid extra £6.50 each)a little disappointed the portion's were small! :( either reduce the rate or increase portion's.
The views are quite simply stunning. The rooms are well-appointed and the dining experience exceptional, whether in the restaurant or bistro.
The price probably matches the quality. Guests not used to private water supplies from peaty soils will be surprised by the discoloured tap water but need have no fears about its safety.
The quiet peaceful location. Very relaxing
Bottled water in room was warm as no coolers. Not enough milks left out for tea and coffee in room.
