The Croft where Architecture Meets Serenity, hotel in Killin

Set in Lochearnhead, in a historic building, 36 km from Lake of Menteith, The Croft where Architecture Meets Serenity is a bed and breakfast with massage services and garden.

Loved the design and wood burning fire. Breakfast was delicious. Owner is a real character and is an active part of your stay. The lounge is also their own lounge and dining area. Lovely wee dog who will snuggle with you; cats around too. We stayed in the yurt the first night although we hadn’t booked it. It was an experience! Probably better in summer though☺️

Killin is a lovely riverside village with the famed Falls of Dochart, a regular feature on calendars. It is rural but gives easy road access to many areas of Scotland from Oban, Fort William, Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perthshire not to mention the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park

Has everything you need in a lovely small town. Nice coffee shop, pub and a little gift shop by the Falls, which were impressive. As well as practical little supermarket and a nice playground for the kids.

    Beautiful scenery, quiet location.

Beautiful scenery, quiet location. The falls of Dochart are stunning. Well worth a visit to see them. There is also a golf course in Killin with stunning views of the surrounding area. Tucked away in the woods of Killin across from the cemetery you will find the ruins of Finlarig Castle which dates back to 11th century, also well worth a visit.

We stay here often, as its dog friendly and have always found it a nice place to stay, with friendly staff. Any problems, you only need to ask. Meals are good and fairly priced, as are the prices at the bar. Looking forward to our next stay.

It is situated in an area where it is within travelling distance to Loch Lomond. Oban, Glen Coe and Fort William al places we like to visit. We ate dinner at The Luib Hotel on our arrival and it was excellent. We visited several other hotels and cafes and they were all good establishments. The staff at The Luid are always ready to answer any questions we had regarding places to visit. They are very helpful and the atmosphere they create in the lounge is unbeatable.

Beautiful area of Scotland, surrounded by mountains. Saw many hikers enjoying their time here. Lovely little inn with a nice size room, comfortable bed and good shower. Bonus chocolates in room were a nice touch. Downstairs is a lovely pub full of folk enjoying life, but quieted down nicely as the evening went on. We booked dinner at their restaurant too and it was very good, and hopping! Included breakfast which was well prepared and kindly served.

The location is absolutely excellent, near Killin and with a hill at the back to go wandering in, and a short drive from Highland Perthshire and many wonderful landscapes and monuments to see. The grounds have sheep, ducks and chaffinches etc about the place. There is a well-appointed kitchen, sheets were clean, and a reasonable amount of space in kitchen and living area. The WiFi was not bad. The staff seemed nice.

Tastefully decorated, calming, peaceful (despite being beside the main road!), beautiful views from the dining room and Room 7. Great to chat to the owners, and best scrambled egg and tomato breakfast I’ve had in any kind of hotel or guest house. No wifi and very poor mobile reception was….. amazing! I knew it would be like this in advance and it added to the feeling of calm.

We are big fans of Killin - such a nice place to potter about for the weekend if you are outdoorsy. The hotel is what it is - we are a fan of old school hotels that give you a glimpse into the past and this one is in a great location . Reception staff were friendly despite clearly being quite stretched & the room facilities were good - teas, coffees, water , dog treats 🥲

I went to this hotel because of the closeness to the Falls of Dochart. The hotel itself was very comfortable and well set up for visitors. Breakfast was very good and plenty of it. Main meals were very tasty and served quickly. Staff were all friendly and courteous. Pet friendly and it had everything i needed for a short stay.

Great breakfast and location. Bed in room one fell through when I sat on it first thing. We were able to fix it but was a shock. Bracket bent underneath. Huuuuuuuge spider in our room but a brave woman from the staff came and fearlessly caught him and kindly put him outside. Bathtub in room 1 was great. Staff was so nice.

Nice clean and spacious rooms. Good location in Killin with just a short walk to a couple of restaurants and easy access to walks and the loch. Was able to launch our paddleboards from just in front of the hotel and head down the river to the loch which was great. Breakfast was excellent.

Very nice and kind hosts who cared about making our stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel is situated in the nature so that we had a quiet stay (even with the road in front of the house). Best thing was the pub / dining area with open fire which contributed to the great atmosphere.

The house is in an ideal situation in the village. This is a truly beautiful house and was perfect for our family get-together, which consisted of 6 adults and 4 children. The bonus of the games room and large garden.
