Score from 54 reviews Wonderful
Very friendly atmosphere, cosy bar, log fire. Friendly staff.
My fish and chips evening meal came without any extras - no salad, just a slice of lemon for the fish.
Location and friendly people made our stay very enjoyable. Being close to Inverary was also an added bonus.
The bar prices at the Lochgoilhead Hotel we felt were expensive. Maybe if they lose the sky TV in the rooms, then they could afford to lower the bar prices
Friendly, good 'pub' atmosphere.
Please change the name on booking .com as it's now called 'The Goil Inn' and therefore we spent ages trying to find it.
The staff, food, room and en suite were all great, but the highlight was view of the loch from the bedroom window... Took our breath away
Scenery Value for money. Value for money food. Staff
Very friendly welcome, good breakfast and located very quietly away from main road. Only 15 minutes to the Oyster Bar though. The view on the loch was nice.
Could have been a little cleaner in the bathroom.
The smell in the hallway.
Cramped room old fashioned
Pretty village, walks nearby, room with picturesque view. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.
Had problem with uncooked trout but staff dealt with problem effiently. Found the menu a little limiting.
The inn is in a beautiful position at the head of loch goil. It was a fab place to wind down. The staff were great. The food was excellent.
If you are looking for a out of the way hotel then this is it. Confusion on arrival as it is not the lochgoil head hotel but is the goil inn. One shop/post office in village with a shop in the caravan park at the other side of the bay. It is reached by a single track rd.
The setting , at the head of the Loch, could not be bettered. No distractions . Plenty of walking to be had . The hotel itself was no bigger than a rural pub and was the better for it. The staff were excellent , and the food was superb.Very comfy beds , great night's sleep.All-round great experience.
location. friendly staff good breakfast.
drinks a bit expensive,
Location almost on the shore of the loch. Great views of the surrounding hills. Great walks from the hotel car park from easy flat walks, corbetts and grahams as well. Rooms nice and clean and with views over the loch. Food very reasonably price and a fairly good selection on offer. Rooms excellent value for money.
No toast with my full Scottish breakfast.
The view's, friendliness of staff, having a pub on sight and value for money
Would be nice to have more locally sourced foods - ie having fish and shell fish options as well as just pub grub.
Nice place with great view.
Location Comfortable bed
Range of food available in the evening - carb heavy
All of it and motorbike friendly!
Nothing negative I could say!
The location was spectacular, we loved it. The hotel was in a good place for the view. Nice people good food,
Staff all very polite helpful Room very comfortable Bar area modern Location ideal
Bathroom not cleaned during 2 night stay, towels not changed
Unspoilt area, beautiful lake view room.
Hotel accepted dogs in bedrooms they weren't allowed in public areas including bar and drinks weren't allowed outside after 9pm. Therefore if we had wanted a drink at the hotel after 9 we would have had to sit upstairs in our room.
terrible beds tv on in the morning poor food miserable bathroom
excellent views over the loch
midges can be annoying recommend you cover up
I liked everything about this hotel it was welcoming and clean. We had a loch view room which was amazing. We stayed mid week but the restaurant and bar were very busy and the 2 staff though busy were friendly and attended to all our needs, the Steak pie for dinner was delicious as was the Chicken and Bacon salad. We had the most delicious breakfast the food was fresh and cooked to perfection.
That we couldn't stay longer
£4.40 for a pint of guiness thats going some??? Hotel search claimed distance from Loch Katrine (my destination)16.7 Miles unfortunately that is as the crow flies not by road more like 50m
