Royal Deeside is particularly famous for its hunting and fishing. Balmoral Castle, the Scottish residence of the Royal Family, which is open to the public during summer, is only 15 miles away. Dinnet itself is in a nature reserve at the gateway to the Cairngorm National Park.

By Car:
- The hotel is on the main A93 Aberdeen to Perth road.
- From Aberdeen, take the A93 west towards Balater and Braemar.
- The hotel is 5 miles after Aboyne, and 5 miles before Balater.

By Public Transport:
From Aberdeen bus station there are frequent buses which go along the A93.
