Accuracy of Breakfast
Our view was opposite a brick wall over looking the flat roof. The grout in the bathroom needed fixing curtains were moth eaten. Shower was poor I wouldn't stay here as it over priced
everything, very helpful staff and friendly .
dog not allowed anywhere except in our room and reception area.
Restaurant gloomy , service not good . Slow service . Mixed up breakfast orders . Dinner in restaurant was awful - menu not up to expectation . Main courses not good . Whole hotel experience not what we would have expected from several previous visits to other Macdonald hotels. Wouldn't visit this one again .
Amazing location - beautiful views of the Loch. It was a very peaceful stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and, in my opinion, a perfect temperature (i.e. nice and warm). we didn't use the gym but the equipment looked modern.
The bar food - poor quality and over priced.
View of loch.
Can't open window properly Had to pay for wifi
The bedroom and bathroom were lovely with plenty of hot water in the bathroom. One of the chairs in the bedroom was a bit worn but on a whole a lovely room. Staff friendly and food excellent.
There's was nothing we didn't like but if I had to say something it would be drinks and food expensive.
Location evening meal
Dirty bed sheets Meat product in vegetarian breakfast
Very isolated place with fantastic view, good for relaxing. Delicious breakfast and pleased with food quality.
Tired room and furniture, lounge was outdated and fittied with uncomfortable chairs.
We booked a last minute weekend as our daughter was staying at Granny's. We had an executive double room & couldn't fault it. The room was clean and comfy and the view was spectacular! Breakfast was delicious. We ate both nights in the bar as the restaurant menu wasn't to our tastes. The bar food was outstanding and the service from Lee was up to a very high standard. All the staff were friendly and accommodating and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We will definitely be coming back :)
The weather on Saturday late afternoon but nothing about the hotel.
Lovely helpful staff but not a Scot among them that we met.
Price of full breakfast a bit steep !
Front facing bedroom with beautiful views over the loch.Staff very friendly and helpful - both bar and dining room.
Felt the menu did not change. Could maybe have done with a few daily specials.
The views of the loch were great. The room was clean but not welcoming. Bar food was very good with very good service.
The cost of breakfast - Continental breakfast was £12.50 per head and Full Scottish was £17.50 per head we thought this was very expensive so had breakfast else where. When booking we were told the Wi-Fi was free in all areas
Loved the setting by the Loch, and the atmosphere was peaceful.
Nothing I didn't like, but probably wouldn't of picked it had I known how remote it was, but I'm glad I stayed there.
Staff were very attentive and friendly. The scenery was beautiful. Clean and comfortable hotel.
Were very unprepared for the roads which led to the hotel, the hotel was booked by a manager at another hotel, we were told to go the scenic route - if we had of known the roads were like they were and that it was so remote we perhaps wouldn't of chosen it ourselves. Perfect for people who want to relax and completely get away from everything...
Friendly staff great location
Lights beside bed awkward to reach. Midges!
A very comfortable hotel in beautiful surroundings with good attentive staff.
the location an surroudings
The room was very nice, clean. No complaints whatsoever.
I booked through Booking.com purely because the prices were identical with Macdonald website otherwise I would have booked direct.
Staff very attentive Food excellent
Location is perfect overlooking the lake. Staff is friendly and help ful. Food is nice and we'll stocked bar.
Wifi is only available in the lobby which is not convenient.
Hotel is dated and requires modernisation. Leisure facilities were broken and worn Expensive restaurant
Staff were excellent
The staff were very polite. Location is lovely and views over the loch were really nice. Hotel is a bit worn but this can be understood because of the location. Bar food could be extended as the choice is very limited but decent food.
If you are a person dependent on using the Wi-Fi ie a business person, the assistance in setting up your internet connection on your device was very poor (and very frustrating for the visitor). The web and the booking receipt said that the internet was available in all areas free of charge. We asked about using the internet on the first day of our stay to be provided with the password only and no advise was given as to how to connect or that we needed a server name. After asking we were provided with the server name but were not advised that the service was only available in the public areas. On the last morning, I overheard a receptionist telling another guest that there was a separate provision in the rooms and that you had to pay for this. This was never advised to us and we tried in vain for ages to connect the internet in our room in the same manner as the receptionist connected my phone at her desk. This was very important to me as my two young sons were away abroad with family and wanted to face time me each evening. Due to no phone signal at the hotel, I had no way of advising them of the problems that we were having. This important issue really ruined my weekend as I was uptight about not getting the service throughout the period of our stay. If the receptionist had advised that the signal was not available in the rooms on the first approach to her then this would have avoided a lot of wasted time and frustration. Shower was cold on the last morning (as was breakfast) but otherwise the stay was very pleasant.
