To be honest very little. It just did not come close to living up to what we read on the website. Particularly in respect to the food. Out of three adults and one 3 year old who arrived fit and well we were all suffering bad tummy aches and feelings of nausea after two days and still are. The 3 year old suffered violent vomiting and having to visit the toilet throughout the second night. We witnessed staff bickering one evening. One of our party did not receive the Stornoway black pudding ordered for breakfast and when asked why was told "Sorry we have a lazy chef today". The lounge bar was tatty and not a nice environment. A large tv constantly had nothing but football on and when asked staff if some other channel could be tried I was told no that there was a demand to see the local Rangers and Celtic game? We were the only five residents in the bar apart from four locals or staff. Not all choices on the menu were available each evening with Lamb Shank not being available at all, any evening. We felt we were limited to poor value choices. I had a venison burger one evening and the chicken the other I would have been cheaper and had better quality at any fast food outlet. Because we had an energetic infant with us we choose not to dine in the restaurant in the interests of other guests so can not comment about the food there. Certainly bar food fell far far short of expectations. The majority of staff were reasonable and well trained but there are obviously issues seething away from conversations and comments we over heard. The high cost for our short stay we consider to be a real waste of money and will certainly not return to this venue again and probably not to any facilities within this group.

1. Having a swimming pool (although the heating in it had broken down and was extremely cold during our stay). 2. The location - a beautiful part of Scotland with mountains and lochs on the doorstep. 3. Peaceful. 4. No need to pay for parking (as not in a city). 5. Good buffet breakfast. 6. Staff attentive. 1. Swimming pool water temperature very cold, steam room out of order, gym equipment sparse and not maintained well (e.g. the rowing machine).

The warm welcome from staff on arrival, friendliness and williness of staff to assist making it easier to get settled in. The staff's knowledge of the area if one wanted to sightsee is most helpful. The cuisine and service, enjoyable and professional. Very good facilities for those who enjoy in door exercises.

Breakfast was excellent. The quality of food in the Evening was not very good. Quality and choice of food from the bar menu was disappointing g And quite expensive for what it was. If I was to return To the hotel I would not eat my evening meal in the hotel.

We normally stay at MacDonald hotels due to the high standard of room and of good size, service from staff and quality of food. This one did not disappoint. However as we had a young baby we had to climb a dozen stairs to get to our room which was not ideal with a pushchair. The leisure facilities were clean and not too busy. Our room had a dozen steps up to it that were not able to get to by lift which was not ideal as we had a pushchair.

The Hotel is in a beautiful location, has very attentive staff who will go that extra mile to make sure everything is to your satisfaction ,i would certinly recomend it. If i had one little gripe my husband is disabled and it would have been a great help if their had been a hand rail at the entrance.

The hotel has a great location on the side of the loch, we had a room with a view of the loch and it was excellent. The evening meal in the restaurant was expensive for less than average food. I had a rib eye steak that cost approx £25, I wouldn't mind even paying more than that if the food was excellent, V dissapointed. We ate elsewhere the second night.

It is a beautiful area and the view is very attractive. Breakfast was good. The evening meal was poor and overpriced. The chicken was undercooked (pink) and then microwaved when it was sent back. The pool is shallow and was dominated by kids jumping in, as there is no supervision. The bed was hard and covering thin.

Well equipped comfortable room and bathroom. Leisure facilities useful for wet weather. No wi-fi in rooms and chargeable in public areas. Plus poor phone reception in the area so mobile internet not an alternative. Bad practice that welcome letter addressed to male partner when booking made in female's name. Poor veggie options at breakfast and dinner. Very expensive food & wine.

Country Walks. As we were only staying one night we can't comment any further. Rooms in need of upgrading, bathroom in need of total revamp. Rooms small. Drinks very expensive we were charged £10.85 for a pint of cider and a 250ml glass of wine, not very good for business, as you may guess we didn't purchase any more drinks.

Friendly welcome and relaxed stay . Liked having the swimming pool facility wish we had used it more than the twice we were in. Food very good and freszhly prepared using local ingredients.Think we had a superior room as we had beautiful views of the loch. Was a little isolated and we needed to drive to explore the surrounding area, but no faults with hotel .

Great Location, great staff, although these seem very overworked or understaffed. Both amount to the same thing.Service was good, however it did seem that they were very flustered all the time. McDonald Hotels should employ enough staff for this to at least not seem obvious there are not enough on duty, Breakfast was slow (35mins) and really small. (so am I)

The staff were excellent and very friendly Our room had no hot water. We complained and were told to wait for 30 mins but still no hot water! They did end up moving us to an upgraded room but it didn't have such a nice view.
