First time using a hostel and was very surprised at how great it was, would certainly come back!
Two very experienced and knowledgeable at every call.
Everything, location, room...
No possibility of choice of cooked breakfast
This location was really ideal for those people who look for a quiet and beautiful place to stay. Kitchen was clean and well organised, bedroom was neat as well. Staff was quite helpful.
The hostel met our expectations, must add a bonus to the awesome kitchen, my gf is a foodie and she was in her element ;-) keep up the excellent work Tom & Sharon
A fantastic location, great building clean and well designed rooms, very helpful staff great facilities as we arrived two very wet cycle tourists.
It was difficult after dinner to sit communinally as one lounge was full of football supporter watching footie on Tv which was fine, but the other room was full of at least 6-7 men drinking heavily. As a female there was nowhere for me to rest and read! I think the drinkers should have been moved or restricted in their occupancy of the room. Hostels I think should have communal areas where people can talk, read and relax after a day out.
I liked all of the building and I have to do especial mention the great behaviour of the receptionist. Wonderful place! Congratulations. Many thanks for make me happy.
Kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms were great
They should have free wifi like everywhere else. This was a large detraction.
Lovely on suite and shower. Meals available to buy.Lovely staff. Modern rooms. Secure bike shed. Local wildlife. Local ferry to Mull of Kintyre.
Nothing to comment on.
We liked the location the staff were very helpful. The rooms were spotlesly clean and the bathroom was to a high standard.
Great place, but the lack of free wifi is the only negative of this hostel.
Location superb, facilities first class. Hosts were helpful, knowledgeable and very hardworking. Even when full, the kitchen facilities were kept spotless by the staff even when some guests didn't clean up as well as they ought.
friendly staff, tv-room, complimentary tea and coffee, value for money, good and new facilities with locker and hairdryer. location though far, was in a beautiful place with the lochranza castle nearby. really enjoyed my stay!
Our Polish hosts were very friendly and helpful and were working hard to make sure all the guests were well catered for. We were on a cycling trip abd stayed for two nights; there are no shops in the area, so unless you have a car or are cycling round the island, bring your own provisions. The hostel can privide a continental breakfast and also frozen meals for cooking in the self catering kitchen; the kitchen itself was large with plenty of storage & fridge space and plenty of tables for eating. The location is superb, overlooking the river estuary with wonderful views and plenty of opportunities for walks, bird watching and general exploring on the beach. There is no pub closeby, but the hostel has a good selection of wine and local bottled beers.
Good location, helpfull staff
No free wifi, pillow not thick enough
We loved Lochranza. The situation, the staff who were so friendly and helpful, and of course being able to have breakfast. I hope that you have a great summer.
I am nearly 86 and a hand rail on the stairway would be helpful when carrying a load up .
The place was clean, comfortable, well-run and well-equipped. The best features though were the two staff, Natalia and Michael who were very helpful, obliging and always ready to put themselves out for guests. A minor detail is the beautiful setting.
The peculiar pong, possibly carpet glue as you come in the front door.
Loved how the Hostel has been totally upgraded since I was last there which was a few years ago. It was more like a hotel than hostel. We had fantastic weather 15/16 April 2014. We were cycling but was extremely windy!!!!
It was fine but do think the cycle shed could also do with an upgrade.
I liked relaxed atmosphere. And pleasant staff. Cleanliness of the hostel was exceptional. A lovely location.
Not so keen on pillow - In fact probably best with none at all! They were so flat - doubling made no difference. Wind whistling through badly fitted double glazed window in our room.
The location of the hostel. The kitchen was very clean and fully equipped.
I didn't like the fact that the hostel doesn't provide free wifi. Because the network connection in the area is quite poor. Therefore we need to have a free Wi-Fi access. Besides, the female bathroom was a bit far from the room
Very well maintained and equipped, child friendly, and helpful staff. Great location. All good!
Set in a beautiful renovated building, this is a lovely place to stay and great value for money. Well kept facilities and friendly staff! Will definitely stay there again and recommend to my friends and family!
My first time going solo so chose to do something different - I am so pleased I stumbled across this hostel. Everyone was friendly and willing to help each other out to make the most of their trip.
The staff were fantastic, the location on Arran unparalleled. Deer and scenery unbelievable. I originally booked in south of Arran and then cancelled- so glad I did. As a road/mountain biker I couldn't have found a better spot. Michał and natalia were so helpful& pleasant despite working very hard. Cannot recommend this place higher
